CATHOLIC CHURCH (1ST St. STEPHEN KING )

It was built 1779-1782. It was consecrated 20th August in 1782 in honour of St. Stephen King. The tower of the church was built only in 1803.


THE FIRST WORLD WAR MONUMENT

It was inaugurated in 1930 in honour of the victims of the first world war.


SZÉKELY GATE


STATE FLAG MONUMENT

It was erected in 2010 in honour of the state foundation.


THE PARISH HALL

The administration centre of the village, where the local government works was reconstructed a few years ago.


BOROS IMRE COUNTRY HOUSE

It was founded in 1894 in honour of Imre Boros, who was a school headmaster so as to show and preserve the traditional way of life of KĹ‘telek, the furniture, the things of personal use, clothes and tools.

SCHOOL HISTORICAL EXHIBITION

It shows the history of more than 260- year-old school and public elementary education of Kőtelek. It also pays tribute to the 200 teachers, who taught at the school of Kőtelek.

You can go fishing to the river Tisza and there is also a fish pond.


JEEP MEETING

Every year in August there is a jeep meeting in KĹ‘telek.

There is a swimming pool with thermal water, where also our students can learn swimming.


MAYFLY FESTIVAL Every year in June the Mayfly festival is organized. There are Fishing, swimming and fish meal cooking competitions, workshops, concerts, craftsmen market and other cultural programmes.

THE HUNGARIAN SCHOOL SYSTEM -Children start nursery school at the age of 3. - They start primary school at the age of 6 or 7. It lasts for 8 years. There are 2 sections; the lower primary and the upper primary which both last for 4 years. - They start secondary school at the age of 14. They can go to grammar school, secondary technical school or vocational school. These schools last for 4 or 5 years. At the end of these schools they take a final exam. -After secondary school they can finish their studies and go to work or they can go to universities. The universities last for 5 years.

THE PRIMARY SCHOOL OF KŐTELEK • In our school there are 8 forms. 140 students attend it. The students come from Kőtelek and a nearby village Hunyadfalva. The lower and the upper primary classes are in separate buildings but they spend the breaks in the same playground. The classroom equipments and the information tools help our modern teaching. • The students have chances to attend different study circles such as Art, Music, Physiotherapy, sport clubs and choir. • There are many students with special needs. Special needs teachers deal with them.


ART TEACHING - There is also an elementary art teaching in our school. We make drawings, paintings, objects out of different materials (felt, clay, modelling paste, etc.) and organise exhibitions regulary.
