A rather impo rtant query has recently reached th e desk of the Libraria n and Curator: "Why is it that some of the Brethren do not have Masonic Funeral or Memorial Services?"
The important thin g for t he Brethren to reme mb er is t hat neither th e Funera l n or the Me m o ri a l Service is don e automatically by th e deceased Brother' s Blue Lodge. Either the Funeral or the Memorial Service must be by a member of the immediate family; or, in th e case where there may be no surviving kin, the request must be made by a close fri end, or group of friends. This reque s t must be directed to t he c u rren t Wors hipfu l Mas ter or Secretary o f the Lodge, a record of wh i ch may be found on the last page of the Lod ge Not ice, at the member s dem ise.
