Christmas at Longwood Gardens MONDAY, DEC. 30
Pick-up: 2:30 p.m. FCC, 2:45 p.m. Clubhouse Return: 10 p.m. Cost: $27 Join Longwood Gardens as they celebrate the many shapes of the season, inspired by the contours of traditional holiday favorites, like ribbons and colorful confectionery, and the figures of nature from pinecones to snowflakes. Outdoors, stroll among illuminated trees, glowing orbs and a shimmering tunnel of lights. Take in a light display choreographed to music in the main fountain garden. Dinner may be purchased at the cafĂŠ located at Longwood Gardens. Please note: a lot of walking is required for this trip. Electric wheelchairs are available to rent if needed. Start the holiday season right with music by the Keystone Concert Band, consisting of nearly 50 volunteer musicians, including residents John and Linda Hope. The band has performed in many different locations, such as the State Capitol, community events, churches, parks, picnics and weddings, in addition to regular public concerts. They maintain an active and varied performance schedule which welcomes new members.

Kick off the holiday season during the 10th annual tree lighting program. The Village Encore Band will entertain with favorite holiday songs, and cheer will be abundant.

Explore some of the myths and magic of the season with this special presentation by resident and history buff Judy Parrish. Topics include decorating a tree from bare to tinsel with special ornaments and explanations of their significance and origins, as well as stories of other observed traditions the explanation behind them.

Made up of residents and community members, the Masonic Village Encore Band will bring the holiday spirit to you by playing songs of the season. Singing is welcomed and encouraged!
Residents Walt and Margie Cook will educate you on how the holiday has evolved since John and Abigail Adams lived in the White House. Learn how the Christmas trees, children, pets, gingerbread houses and more are part of the White House Christmas tradition.

These two very talented local musicians share songs of the season with traditional favorite pieces, as well as a few more classical holiday compositions on piano and keyboard. Josh is Pastor of Music Ministries at the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren, and his wife, Elizabeth, plays keyboard and organ for the church. You may also remember Josh from the Josh Squared Band.
Hospice and the Palliative Bridge Seminar TUESDAY, DEC. 10, 10 A.M. Keystone Room
Hospice and palliative care is part of Masonic Village’s continuum of care. The service combines top-notch medical care with a compassionate human touch, one that can have an impact on a family forever. This seminar will be repeated on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 10 a.m., in the Life Long Learning Center.

Ring in the holidays by singing favorite Christmas carols, sipping hot chocolate and celebrating with friends. The illumination of the Formal Gardens will happen after the signature countdown - watch it from a bird’s eye view on the Trexler Terrace! 6
A Jazzy Christmas with Temple Avenue Jazz Band TUESDAY, DEC, 17, 2 P.M. Deike Auditorium
Swing into the Christmas spirit with this group that was formed seven years ago by Lancaster teenagers and friends at Temple University. The band still has a mix of local and Philadelphia roots. Singer Calli Graver is a McCaskey High School graduate, and pianist Colin McKeel is a Manheim Township graduate. Temple Avenue now consists of musicians in their mid-20s. The band will perform its fun and upbeat arrangements of holiday standards, such as “Frosty the Snowman,” “Do You Hear What I Hear?” “Let It Snow” and many others.
“Rockin Around the Christmas Tree” with the Quentin Jones Trio FRIDAY, DEC. 20, 7 P.M. Brossman Ballroom
Last seen as a solo act in the tavern this summer, Quentin will return with a couple of friends to entertain you with instrumental versions of some favorite Christmas hits that are a little bit country and a little bit rock ‘n’ roll. Featured instruments include guitar, drums and piano.
Matinée Movie: “The Man Who Invented Christmas” SUNDAY, DEC. 22, 2 P.M. Deike Auditorium
Watch the story of the magical journey that led to the creation of Ebenezer Scrooge (Christopher Plummer), Tiny Tim and other classic characters from “A Christmas Carol.” This movie shows how Charles Dickens (Dan Stevens) mixed real-life inspirations with his vivid imagination. This movie is rated PG and is one hour and 14 minutes long.

Located in the Freemasons Cultural Center, the Baird Wellness Center offers an array of cardiovascular and strength equipment, functional training, personal training and group fitness classes. Massage therapy and wellness workshops on mind, body and spirit are also offered.

THOMAS TROPEA is a Neurologist, Movement Disorder Specialist and Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine in Philadelphia. His research focuses on translating laboratory findings into clinical research studies that can help find treatments and cures for neurological disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These can include Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, strokes and brain tumors. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

As you are transported through time, experience Christmas through a little bit of barbershop quartet, or catch some doo wop along the way. Enjoy beautiful music and dance, elaborate sets and costumes and heart-warming stories woven through the generations. This production is located at Christian Life Assembly Church in Camp Hill. Christmas at Longwood Gardens MONDAY, DEC. 30
Pick-up: 2:30 p.m. FCC, 2:45 p.m. Clubhouse Return: 10 p.m. $27 Join Longwood Gardens as they celebrate the many shapes of the season, inspired by the contours of traditional holiday favorites, like ribbons and colorful confectionery, and the figures of nature from pinecones to snowflakes. Outdoors, stroll among illuminated trees, glowing orbs and a shimmering tunnel of lights. Take in a light display choreographed to music in the main fountain garden. Dinner may be purchased at the café located at Longwood Gardens. Electric wheelchairs are available to rent, if needed. RSVP by Dec. 16.

Masonic Village’s Annual TUESDAY, DEC. 10
Pick-up: 6 p.m., Return: 8 p.m. It’s that time of year again! Enjoy this festive holiday shuttle ride as you view the beautifully decorated homes of the surrounding area. Since this trip is so popular, please select only one date. You remain on the bus throughout the tour. An additional tour will take place on Monday, Dec. 16, from 6 – 8 p.m.

Pick-up: 11 a.m. Clubhouse, 11:15 a.m. FCC Return: 9:30 p.m. Donation of $10 per person recommended Presented annually at Christ Lutheran Church in Allentown, the Twelfth Night Festival is a highlight of the Christmas Season (this year will be 37 years). Over 300 members of the congregation participate in this liturgical drama with full choir, costumes, sets, orchestra and live animals. The Festival Pageant is a memorial to Eleanor D. Kramp whose inspiration began the festival which reflects on the adoration of the Christ Child. Prior to the show, on the way to Allentown, enjoy dining at Cracker Barrel on your own. Please select either Saturday, Jan. 11, or Sunday, Jan. 12, each with the same scheduled time frames and details.
Lancaster Bible College Presents “Ruth,” the Musical SUNDAY, JAN. 26 Pick-up: 12:15 p.m. Return: 5:30 p.m. $24
Enjoy the inspiring and captivating musical “Ruth” based on the beloved Bible story. The show follows the improbable journey of Ruth and Naomi, two destitute widows whose faith in God and in each other ignites a chain of events that change the course of history. LBC’s performance of the show represents the first time Sight & Sound Theatres has licensed an original production for public use and will star a cast of LBC students and a live orchestra. This production is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will be held at the Main Campus in Lancaster. RSVP by Dec. 27.
