The Book Discussion Group meets the third Monday of every month at 1 p.m. in Activity Room 2. Everyone is welcome at any time. Location: Activity Room 2

Not Just Artwork!

Ping-Pong

Have you ever noticed or wondered about the checkers, Chinese checkers and Parcheesi boards framed on the wall of the Card Room?

Someday, summer WILL come … and, with it, the heat and humidity, making outdoor activities uncomfortable.

Well, they aren’t just artwork – they are games that you can remove from the wall and play! The markers and marbles are in cloth bags on the windowsill. Bring back your childhood by playing these games. Or, better yet, take them down and teach your grand- and greatgrandchildren what you played when you were young.

Why not join the Ping-Pong gang in Activity Room 6 on Wednesdays at 2 p.m? Some never played before joining; others have regained the agility of their youth. It is a great, fun group and a good way to get some exercise while having fun.

The Celtic World

Discover the incredible story of the Celtic-speaking people whose art, language and culture once spread from Ireland to Austria. This series of 24 enlightening lectures explains the traditional historical view of who the Celts were, then contrasts it with brand new evidence from DNA analysis and archeology that totally changes our perspective on where the Celts came from. From the myth of King Arthur to the very map of the United Kingdom, where the English confronted the peoples of the “Celtic Fringe,” the Celts have profoundly affected European history and culture.
