NOTE FROM ADMINISTRATION

Grand Lodge Hall Renovations to Begin Gary Wylde, director of resident services

One of the oldest buildings on campus is about to undergo renovations and updates, offering new spots to gather and dine, while maintaining its historical charm. The Grand Lodge Hall will once again become the hub of the campus, providing you the opportunity to eat, exercise, socialize, participate in events and activities and run errands all in one place. You will be able to enjoy a drink in the tavern, sit with friends and family by a fire pit on the terrace, take part in creative art classes and much more. The Restaurant at Grand Lodge Hall will be expanding your dining options by serving as a restaurant and café. The restaurant will offer lunch and dinner, and the café will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Along the “Main Street” corridor, you will be able to gather in the lobby or solarium, easily pick up mail, visit the new Village Shoppe or use the multi-media room. Phase 1A of the Grand Lodge Hall renovations is set to begin the week of April 17. Some services and programming areas will be relocated prior to the beginning of construction. We will keep you posted as these changes are made.

16

Beginning Monday, April 17, the Grand Lodge Hall mini-bank, blood pressure clinic and pharmacy will move to the game lounge located beside the Deike Auditorium. While the Grand Lodge Hall

elevator will remain operational during this first phase, the first floor restrooms will be closed. The campus shuttle will continue to pick up and drop off residents in the Village Green Circle. Also in Phase 1, some activities, which were held at the Grand Lodge Hall Assembly Room, will be relocated. Many of these changes are reflected in the Village Living activity listings. Plus, additional signage will be posted throughout the construction areas. The Restaurant at Grand Lodge Hall’s last served meal will be brunch on April 9. On Monday, April 10, the restaurant will re-open in the Brossman Ballroom, Salon III and IV, for lunch at 11 a.m. Three Loaves Café will also be open for breakfast on this day. On April 11, the restaurant will begin serving continental breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets according to its normal schedule in Brossman Ballroom until the renovations are complete. Thank you in advance for your patience. These brief inconveniences will be worth the beautiful and new spaces that you can enjoy for years to come. The next renovation communication update will be from Mark Eyer, director of retirement living, in the next issue of Village Living.
