Baird Wellness Center 33783
Baird Wellness Center 33783 Located in the Freemasons Cultural Center, the Baird Wellness Center offers an array of cardiovascular and strength equipment, functional training, personal training and group fitness classes. Massage therapy and wellness workshops on mind, body and spirit are also offered.
Open daily, from 5 a.m. – 9 p.m. Staff are available Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Group exercise classes are broadcast on MVTV Monday through Friday in the morning.
Please pay and purchase punch cards at the Baird Wellness Center. Punch cards are a way to “pay as you attend classes.” You will receive the option of attending 10 classes per punch card, and punch cards are available for $35 each. For questions, call 717-361-5699.
SilverSneakers® Classic
TUES. & THURS., 9 – 9:45 A.M. Brossman Ballroom, Salon I (Check with your insurance for coverage)
This universal class is designed to improve agility, balance, coordination and functional capabilities. Non-SilverSneakers® members pay $3.50 per class (punch card available for purchase).
Transform
TUES. & THURS., 10:15 – 11 A.M. Baird Wellness Center Punch card class
This is an ongoing class. Tuesdays will consist of using multiple pieces of equipment for strength and functional movement for mobility. Thursday will focus on raising your heart rate for a continued amount of time and stretching to enhance flexibility.
Participate in our various classes to improve your physical fitness, social connections, mental health and cognitive abilities.
Hatha Yoga
MON., 3:30 P.M. & WED., 10:15 A.M. Lodge Meeting Room Punch card class
This is an ongoing class. We will be on our wrists, arms and knees for certain postures. We will also focus on single leg postures. To prevent injury, if you are not comfortable with any of the above, be prepared to modify based on the suggestions the instructor provides.
Breathe
Enjoy this 45-minute slow, free-flowing movement class to enhance energy, balance and mind-body connection.
Head Over Heels: A Fall Injury Prevention Hands-On Workshop
TUES., 1 – 2 P.M., SEPT. 13 – NOV. 1 Brossman Ballroom $64
A Certified Personal Trainer will build off your assessment and create a customized program to advance your strength, gait and balance. We will address your agility and cognitive reaction time in order to reduce the risk of falling and the injuries associated with it. This is a progressive program, and each session will build upon the last. To realize your full potential, we ask that you attend every session.
Water Walking
Call ext. 33783 to register Aug. 8 – 22. Low-impact class using a variety of steps, speeds and arm movements to increase the effectiveness of this workout. Also includes exercises for strength and flexibility.
Wave Runners
Call ext. 33783 to register Aug. 8 – 22. Low- to moderate-intensity class with an emphasis on cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength and flexibility. Activities include water walking/jogging, standing aerobic combinations, strengthening exercises using resistive equipment and stretching exercises.
H.I.I.T.
Call ext. 33783 to register Aug. 8 – 22. Jump start your day with this 45-minute shallow water workout. This class allows you to set goals, improve your aerobic capacity, increase your metabolism and build a healthier heart. You will vary your pace and how hard you work – push your limit, then drop back into your comfort zone, then do it again! Rev it up, recover, repeat!
Aqua Fit
Call ext. 33783 to register Aug. 8 – 22. Have a blast while getting a total body workout! Build your cardio fitness, strengthen your core and improve your muscle tone and flexibility with this invigorating shallow water class. You will be kept moving with a variety of activities such as water walking, jogging and strengthening exercises with resistive equipment.
Flohr Pool Open Pool Time
Pool capacity is eight people in the water. Pool water is heated to 90 degrees for additional comfort and includes a six-foot deep well. Spa is heated to 100 degrees. Please note: Must show MVP card for entry to pool and swipe in with key tag issued by the Baird Wellness Center.
Patton Pool Open Swim/ Lap Swim
Four lanes are open for lap swim, and two lanes are open for free swim. Please note: Must show MVP card for entry to pool and swipe in with key tag issued by the Baird Wellness Center.
Brossman Outdoor Pool
