Baird Wellness Center 33783

Located in the Freemasons Cultural Center, the Baird Wellness Center offers an array of cardiovascular and strength equipment, functional training, personal training and group fitness classes. Massage therapy and wellness workshops on mind, body and spirit are also offered.

Open daily, from 5 a.m. – 9 p.m. Staff are available Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Group exercise classes are broadcast on MVTV Monday through Friday, in the morning.

Please purchase punch cards at the Baird Wellness Center. Punch cards are a way to “pay as you go” to land and aquatic classes. You will receive the option of attending 10 classes per punch card, and punch cards are available for $35 each. For questions, call 717-361-5699.

Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers® ball is alternated with non-impact aerobics choreography. The class starts Aug. 7 and will run continuously. Punch cards will be available at the Baird Wellness Center for non-Silver Sneakers® members.

This is an ongoing class. We will be on our wrists, arms and knees for certain postures. We will also focus on single leg postures. To prevent injury, if you are not comfortable with any of the above, be prepared to modify based on the suggestions the instructor provides.

A low impact Pilates and yoga fusion class designed to strengthen core muscles, improve posture and encourage flexibility in both joints and muscles. Please note, we will be on our wrists and knees for certain exercises and will transition from standing to the floor during class. Open to beginners, and modifications are offered throughout class to meet your fitness level.

Keep track of your accumulative miles each week on any piece of cardio equipment OR track your miles outside! Every Monday, turn in your total accumulated miles to Kendall Somer, wellness specialist. The program weeks will run Monday-Sunday for the month of August. You will need your own tracking device for this program. Conversion charts available upon request. Capacity is eight people in the water. Pool water is heated to 90 degrees for additional comfort and includes a 6-foot deep well. Spa is heated to 100 degrees. Must show MVP card for entry to pool, and swipe in with key tag issued by the Baird Wellness Center. Call ext. 33783 for more information.
