Masonic Village Golf Group

The Masonic Village Golf Group (18-hole with cart) is open to men and women, residents and non-residents. Best ball on the drive, play your own ball after that.

We play four different courses each month:

1st Wednesday at Deer Valley

2nd Wednesday at Sunset

3rd Thursday at Overlook

4th Thursday at Cool Creek

5th Wednesday at Deer Valley

You can sign up in the golf binder at the Clubhouse Information Desk (registration due by Sunday prior to play), or email Dick Daniels at dick.daniels@iphone.com. We carpool from the Brossman parking lot near the Ben Franklin statue. Keeping score is optional, and we practice relaxed rules.

Freewill offering

The Lancaster British Brass Band is composed entirely of brass winds and percussion instruments. This concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Highland Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. A freewill offering will take place at intermission.

Featuring Servant Stage’s most requested ensemble, “I’ll Fly Away” is a tribute to folk, bluegrass and old-time gospel music with Backwards Bluegrass Band and Friends. This concert is scheduled for 3 p.m. This is a pay-what-you-will event, and donations are greatly appreciated.

Try your luck at over 2,450 reel, video slots, and video poker machines (ranging from one penny to $100) or the 50+ game tables, including blackjack, craps, roulette and baccarat, or bet your luck on the horses. Live thoroughbred racing begins at 6 p.m. A variety of eateries are also available.

Elizabethtown Fair

The annual fair shows off animals, agriculture, competitive and commercial exhibits, free nightly entertainment, rides and lots of great food! Trips to the fair are also scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 23, for Senior Citizen Day and Friday, Aug. 25, for an afternoon trip.

Visit the craft exhibits and competitions, which many residents have entered. Take a stroll down the “midway” as afternoons are not as crowded. A few food vendors will be open during this time.

Tour of Wright’s Ferry Mansion in Columbia

TUESDAY, AUG. 29

Pick-up: 12:30 p.m. Clubhouse, 12:45 p.m. FCC

Return: 4 p.m.

The history of one of the oldest frontier towns is alive and well in this 1738 mansion, which interprets the life of early settler Susanna Wright. Please note: The mansion is not handicap accessible and has a few flights of stairs. A $3 donation will be collected at the mansion.

Lancaster Barnstormers Game Located at Clipper Magazine Stadium

THURSDAY, AUG. 31

Pick-up: 5:15 p.m. FCC, 5:30 p.m. Clubhouse Return: 9:30 p.m.

$8, free for veterans

Cheer on the Lancaster Barnstormers as they take on Charleston Dirty Birds. Game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Active military and veterans get in free on Thursday evenings. Please state if you are a veteran when signing up. RSVP and payment needed by Aug 21.

The Famous Tamburitzans

The famous Tamburitzans present the folk culture of both western and eastern European music in song and dance with brilliant costumes. This production is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 14, from 3 – 5:30 p.m., at Warwick Middle School. RSVP and payment needed by Aug. 17.
