The Hershey Museum Story & Chocolate Tasting
WEDNESDAY, FEB. 5 p. 18
“Something Rotten! Jr.” is a hilarious musical comedy set in the Renaissance, where two brothers, Nick and Nigel Bottom, struggle to write a hit play in the shadow of Shakespeare’s fame. Desperate for success, they create the world’s first musical — a bold, songand-dance-filled masterpiece! This fun-filled show is packed with witty dialogue, catchy tunes and clever references to classic theater. Please note, while there is content in the full version of “Something Rotten” that would be considered inappropriate for students, this is the “Junior” version specifically designed for younger performers. Please call ext. 33205 to register for transportation.

Don “Stone” Kensinger, historian and author of the book, “Weaving Passions,” shares stories, photos, symbolism and culture related to native Navajo woven rugs, which have been collected in the Susquehanna Valley. When Stone and his wife, Vicki, moved into an idyllic cottage in Mount Gretna, they were given a mysterious item that had been handed down from owner to owner since the early 1900s. Conversations with neighbors led to a multi-year, cross country adventure as Stone began to uncover the connections between the original owner of the cottage, Mount Gretna and his continuing passion for the Diné and their weavings. Resident Lois Herr, friend and former collector, will introduce the presentation.
FRIDAY, FEB. 14, 2 P.M.

When aging womanizer Harry Sanborn (Jack Nicholson) and his young girlfriend arrive at her family’s beach house in the Hamptons, they find that her mother, dramatist Erica Barry (Diane Keaton), also plans to stay for the weekend. Erica is scandalized by the relationship and Harry’s sexist ways. But when Harry has a heart attack, and a doctor prescribes bed rest at the Barry home, he finds himself falling for Erica who, for once, may be out of his league. This movie is rated PG-13, with a run time of approximately 2 hours.

Jay Smar hails from the little coal mining town of Coaldale. He performs on guitar, claw-hammer banjo, harmonica and fiddle, and he sings and flat-foots, a form of clog-dancing. Jay has dedicated his life to his loves: music, coal mining and people. In this program, he will explore many “different” Valentine’s Day songs — songs of love for your spouse, places you love to go and things you love to do.

The Masonic Village orchard has been a proud steward of the land for more than 100 years. We practice Integrated Pest Management on our farm to preserve sustainable agriculture for generations to come. The 80-acre orchard includes sweet cherries, tart cherries, peaches, nectarines, plums, pears and over 60 varieties of apples. The orchard and market run under the care of manager Tad Kuntz, a fourthgeneration fruit grower, born and raised in Adams County. He began managing the production and retail orchard operation in 1991 and received the Outstanding Grower of the Year award from the State Horticultural Association of Pennsylvania in 2022.

At the heart of the film is a nostalgic and uplifting human-interest story you will enjoy!

These are gavels and sound blocks (which are struck by the gavel) that are used by the presiding officer at a meeting or by a judge in the courtroom. The ones in this photo are purposely made to be handsome and ornate by using multiple species of contrasting wood. They are commonly presented as a gift to someone who has served or will serve in the highest authority of their organization or as a judge. We have many gifted craftsmen who are active members of our woodshop, and each possess a unique set of skills in working with wood. Our products are small and large, simple and complex, fancy and utilitarian. Please come in and see us if you need something or are looking for a gift for someone.
