Archaeology in Space

From TV shows like “Star Trek” to movies such as “Forbidden Planet,” future outer space exploration in science fiction normally included archaeologists. NASA also has an archaeology office but conducts no interplanetary archaeology. What the space agency conducts is Earth archaeology from above. Learn how extraterrestrial platforms, like satellites, are discovering ancient cities, environments and land use with radar, penetrating photography and other technologies. Classes for the Curious: Life Lessons from the Great Myths

Life Long Learning Center
This class intends to change the way we think about the greatest stories ever told. It will explore individuals and events that so gripped civilizations, they transcended to the level of myth, from the battlefields of Alexander the Great to the conquests of Napoleon Bonaparte to the drama of the American West. Attend one or every session, presented by Dr. J. Rufus Fears, former University of Oklahoma classics professor, and facilitated by resident John Hope.

Dr. Dean Rust, president of the Bluebird Society of PA, currently monitors over 21 bluebird trails and 450 nest boxes in Lancaster, York, Dauphin and Chester counties. He reached a lifetime goal of 1,000 fledged bluebirds, with 1,158 bluebirds fledged in 2021 and 1,120 bluebirds in 2022. Join Dean to learn about the bluebirds in your backyard!

Located in the Freemasons Cultural Center, the Baird Wellness Center offers an array of cardiovascular and strength equipment, functional training, personal training and group fitness classes. Massage therapy and wellness workshops on mind, body and spirit are also offered.

2024 LANCASTER SENIOR GAMES
Since starting in 1989, thousands of athletes have participated in the Lancaster Senior Games, and we want to add you to that list! Lancaster County residents ages 55 and over participate in sporting events and recreation activities, competing for medals within various age brackets.
The 2024 Senior Games will be held May 6 – 10 at Spooky Nook Sports. Registration will be held March 4 – April 1. Northeastern High School’s 22nd Honor Bus Veterans Trip to Washington, D.C.
Saturday, April 27
Northeastern High School Honor Bus is a student-organized group that coordinates bus trips in the spring and fall to Washington, D.C., to visit the World War II, Korean and Vietnam Memorials and Arlington National Cemetery. They welcome veterans of ANY era and active-duty military members to join them on this day of gratitude. All veterans will be provided with a T-shirt, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
While Northeastern High School recognizes the sacrifices of military families, this trip is for veterans only. Students and volunteers are available to provide assistance and support, so each veteran has a memorable and rewarding experience.

ROOSTER WOODSHOP
Masonic Village Rooster Woodshop is located on the corner of Freemason Drive and Umbaugh Drive. The showroom is open Monday through Friday, from 8 – 11 a.m. and 1 – 3 p.m. It is also open on Saturday, from 8 – 11 a.m. There are many assorted items produced by the members. All items on display are for sale, and all Masonic Village residents and employees receive a 15% discount on a showroom item priced $100 or more. The shop can produce custom furnishings and novel items from wood, and members can also perform minor repairs to furniture upon request. Scan the QR code for a link to our Facebook page.
This side table has the unique feature of having an adjustable height for the upper tray. The post is not centered, allowing the whole table to be turned, so the tray can fit over a chair or bed. The tray can be positioned 23” to 29” from the floor to the underside of the tray by removing the threaded knob on the backside of the post. The tray is rimmed to contain potential spills. A choice of wood and stain color are always offered.
