Servant Stage Presents “Ragtime”

SATURDAY, OCT. 1 Pick-Up: 12:30 p.m. Clubhouse, 12:45 p.m. FCC Return: 5:30 p.m.

Set in the volatile melting pot of New York City, this epic Broadway musical captures the American experience at the turn of the 20th century. “Ragtime” will be Servant Stage’s largest show to date, weaving together the stories of three diverse communities in a truly unique and powerful portrait of America. All shows are pay-what-you-will. This program will be held at the Lancaster Mennonite High School and is scheduled from 2 – 4:30 p.m.

Apple Festival at the Haldeman Mansion

SUNDAY, OCT. 9 Pick-Up: 11:30 a.m. FCC, 11:45 a.m. Clubhouse Return: 3 p.m. Free

This mansion is the birthplace of Professor Samuel Steman Haldeman and was completed in 1811 by his grandparents, John and Maria Brenneman Haldeman. The style of architecture is vernacular German combined with Federal elements. The mansion was placed on the Pennsylvania and National Registers of Historic Places on Aug. 3, 1977. It is the first historic structure in the Bainbridge-Conoy Township area to be preserved for public access and serves as a museum house, a community landmark and a meeting place. Tours of the mansion will be conducted. Bratwurst sandwiches, hot dogs, drinks and a variety of apple desserts will be available for purchase. Entertainment is also scheduled throughout the afternoon. Please note: walking areas are mainly on grass and could be uneven.

Monday Night Concert Series at Elizabethtown College

MONDAY, OCT. 10 Pick-Up: 6:30 p.m. Clubhouse, 6:45 p.m. FCC Return: 9 p.m. Free

The music department of Elizabethtown College will present National Parks Soundscapes featuring Artist-in-Residence David Cullen, guitar, and Jill Haley, oboe, with special guests Chico Huff, bass, and Gavin Horning, guitar. Enjoy this music and video concert experience. This concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and is located at the Leffler Chapel and Performance Center.

Tour of Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum in Lancaster

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 12 Pick-Up: 12 p.m. Clubhouse, 12:15 p.m. FCC Return: 4:30 p.m. $20

Step back in time with a visit to Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum, considered by many to be the “best kept secret in Pennsylvania.” Founded by brothers Henry and George Landis, it is the largest living history museum in the country dedicated to the total preservation of early Pennsylvania German/Dutch life. This authentic village includes historic buildings with costumed guide interpretation and a vast collection of historic items based in the 1700s and 1800s. This tour will delight you in many living history demonstrations which may include crafts, period manufacturing, farming, food preservation, weaving and cooking. You will have the opportunity to design your own punched tin ornament. The tour is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Lebanon County Community Concert Association: Juke Box Saturday Night

SUNDAY, OCT. 16 Pick-Up: 1:30 p.m. FCC, 1:45 p.m. Clubhouse Return: 6 p.m. $25

Jukebox Saturday Night is a musical review of the Big Bands of the 1930s, 40s and 50s. Performances celebrate America’s Swing Era featuring hits played by Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Jimmie Lunceford, Artie Shaw, Harry James, Les Brown, Woody Herman and many others. This concert is held at the Lebanon High School and is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Arts Alive Concert Presents Simon Johnson, Organist, Conductor and Composer

TUESDAY, OCT. 18 Pick-Up: 5:15 p.m. Clubhouse, 5:30 p.m. FCC Return: 8:30 p.m. Free

Simon Johnson is one of the most versatile musicians of his generation, successfully combining life as a virtuoso organist with extensive work in choral direction, composition and arrangement. Simon will be performing a variety of musical numbers for your listening pleasure. A freewill offering will take place at intermission. The concert is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Derry Presbyterian Church in Hershey.

Tour of Masonic Village Grounds

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 19 Pick-Up: 1 p.m. Clubhouse, 1:15 p.m. FCC Return: 3:30 p.m. Free

For those new residents here on campus, we hope you will take advantage of this event. Enjoy this interesting and informative tour conducted by resident Joe Fink. You will remain on the bus throughout the tour.

Starlight Tea Concert Featuring Ensemble Chaconne

SATURDAY, OCT. 22 Pick-Up: 5:30 p.m. FCC, 5:45 p.m. Clubhouse Return: 9 p.m. Free

This ensemble enthralls audiences with dramatic period instrument performances of music from Renaissance and Baroque Europe. The repertoire ranges from well-known masterpieces to recently discovered works. Peter Bloom, flutes; Carol Lewis, viol du gamba; and Olav Chris Henriksen, lute, theorbo and guitar, bring exhilaration and theatrical intensity to an intimate chamber setting. This concert is scheduled for 7 p.m., and is located at the Lancaster Church of the Brethren. A freewill offering will take place.

Ride the Pride - Harrisburg River Boat

MONDAY, OCT. 24 Pick-Up: 2:45 p.m. Clubhouse, 3 p.m. FMCC Return: 6:30 p.m. $10

Join us for a Halloween Spooktacular on this Senior Monday excursion. Enjoy this two-hour cruise which features snacks, discounted drink specials, trivia, music and more! You may also take along your own goodies if you wish. Costumes are optional. The ride is scheduled from 4 – 6 p.m. RSVP by Oct. 7.

Shopping Trip & Lunch at Funk Brewing in Etown

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 26 Pick-Up: 9:30 a.m. FCC, 9:45 a.m. Clubhouse Return: 1:30 p.m. Free

Enjoy a morning of shopping and lunch sponsored by the Masonic Village Shrine Club. Shop visits will be led by Denise Grove, executive director of the Chamber. This “VIP” tour includes Naturally Gifted by Jeri, Twisted Easel, Knock Knock Boutique, Now Wear This and Charlamay’s. After shopping, lunch will be on your own at Funk Brewing Company.

American Music Theater presents “Home for the Holidays”

TUESDAY, NOV. 29 Pick-Up: 9 a.m. FCC, 9:15 a.m. Clubhouse Return: 1 p.m. $40

AMT is proud to present its new Christmas show: “Home for the Holidays.” The show opens with the joyous gathering of family and friends who celebrate a tapestry of song, dance and holiday traditions. Next, we take you to Santa’s candy factory, where you’ll be transported to a dream world of bright colors and candy elves! Finally, you’ll join us at a “midnight” candlelight service for some songs of worship, traditional carols and the powerful, harmony-filled rendition of “O Holy Night.” This production is two hours and is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. RSVP by Oct. 31.

PARCR Meeting Announced

The first on-site facility meeting by the Pennsylvania Alliance of Retirement Community Residents (PARCR) has been scheduled for Oct. 12, at Garden Spot Village, New Holland.

The meeting will start at 9:45 a.m., and the guest speaker is Terry Madonna, Senior Fellow in Residence for Political Affairs at Millersville University. Registration is required, and a non-refundable $15 lunch fee is due with your registration.

Come tour the new Evergreen Neighborhood, featuring 16 private, spacious rooms including amenities for family members, such as a pull-out couch, television, refrigerator and Amazon Echo Show devices. The neighborhood also features private family rooms, a dining room, living room, children’s room, a chapel and a library. Park in the Freemasons Cultural Center lot. Bus transportation will pick riders up at the Brossman entrance and transport them to and from the Masonic Health Care Center.
