BASIC DESIGN Learning design principles and how a design formulates through two dimensional and three dimensional explorations

BASIC DESIGN

2

Anthropometry Measurements and proportions of human body to estimate the approximate amount of space that is required for various furniture in living spaces

Anthropometric study(studio-i)

Anthropometrical study was the first studio exercise given to us, analysis of different day to day activities and their proper measurements and posture was conducted. Students took measurements of each other Activities like toilet, bathing, cooking and dining were picked for the study. Taking measuremets and scaling them down on paper was something that we learnt to use it effectively Ergonomics and proper comfort were also learnt

3

Residential studio (sub-urban house) Understanding human character and designing personalized spaces

sub-urban house

(studio-iii)

My concept is to make luxurious and cozy place to dwell in, in the given small plot area. I have tried to give natural light and ventilation wherever possible Plot area: 10000*15000 F.s.i: 1.8 Margin: 3000 from front,250 from other two sides Total built up area: 270 mt/sq. No. of 3d model residents: 6

Commercial studio Design a central library for ITM universe Vadodara. The project was to design an institutional building, learning about norms of public built environment, the functioning f such building, as well as following the language of existing campus and provide the students with facility an infrastructure recquired

Itm central library The idea was to create a place which is a home to many more activities other than just reference and reading books. A library should be as inviting as a public plaza, so with that thought this building was designed based on climatic factors of the site The north facing faรงade ensured maximum period of shade throughout the day, thus giving the students a big open space to mke area more lively wit their interactions.

contextual studio To design a naturopathy site on a hypothetical contoured site in saputara. The challenge was that the site is adjacent to 4 lane highway, thus noise pollution caused would be a disturbance to Centre

Naturopathy centre

(studio-iv)

My basic design concept was taking the idea of nature as a mother goddess. Nature is amalgamation of Five elements Water, Air, Fire, Earth & Ether Taking this elements as my concept of design for 4 main blocks each. Attempt was made to keep the natural contour intact
