Hello...

...and welcome to the third issue of your NEWLOOK Creative Cardmaking. It’s great to know that so many of you love the changes we’ve Laura made so keep that Dougherty feedback coming in, it’s lovely to hear from you. I’ve taken quite a tumble since last issue and suffered two rather nasty breaks to my ankle. After a spell in hospital getting patched up, I’m now at home resting and attempting to craft around my cast! We hope you love this issue and your free Chic Boutique cardmaking kit from Kraftyhands, which includes stunning patterned papers, toppers, sentiments and paper bows, all with a very sophisticated look. Lee Jepson and I have created the cards for you this issue, so check out our ideas starting on page 39. We’ve got a stunning feature from Dot Clark for The Stamp Hut over on pages 1618, where she demonstrates Perfect Pearls, and Jo Kill embraces the geek chic trend with her stylish designs starting on page 20. Maria Simms utilises a variety of techniques to create her own stamps in our beginner’s

guide starting on page 24, Andrea Gourley shares her money-saving ideas for making your own gem and pearl-like embellishments on pages 30-32, and Su Pennick comes up with a great way to use up paper scraps with her mosaics on pages 50-53. Sigrid Klingenberg creates a selection of fabulous cards using Marianne Design products over on pages 55-57 and Lindsey Hopkins explores the popular Art Deco trend for her cards starting on page 66. All this, combined with the usual fantastic competitions, giveaways, news and letters, make up this month’s Creative Cardmaking, so pop the kettle on and sit back for a super read!

Spoilt for choice

Thank you

What a surprise I had last week when the postman called and delivered a purple parcel! My husband was just as interested as I was to see what was in it and we found two Fiskars punches, a continuous stamping wheel, replacement ink and lovely stamps that I’d won from one of your competitions. Thank you for the surprise; it certainly brightened by day and of course I had to try everything right away! Here’s a card I made using the floral stamp from my prize, plus the cute cat stamp from your sister magazine Creative Stamping. I used ProMarkers to colour the flowers and am overjoyed with the result! Joy Barnes, Lancashire

Thank you so much for the wonderful prize I received from issue 46 – I’d completely forgotten I’d entered! It was such a surprise when the postman knocked on the door and handed me the package. Upon opening, I discovered the adorable Mulberry Wood CD-ROM and stamp set, plus glue and Snow White Centura cardstock (which is one of my favourite for cardmaking). The CD-ROM is lovely and the colouring on the images means I can see them clearly, so I thought I’d make this little thank you note. I always look forward to Creative Cardmaking and am glad you’ve gone back to staples for the free papers – now I can keep my magazines nice and tidy. Gwen Tomlinson, Kent

Fan-tash-tic

CCM: Thanks for the notelet Gwen. The CD-ROMs from Crafter’s Companion are such great quality aren’t they? Couple this with adorable artwork like Mulberry Wood and you’re always on to a winner!

CCM: You’re just in luck Gemma! Check out Jo’s feature on pages 20-22 for a great card featuring a moustache and also our Geek Chic shopping guide on page 74, which has some super ideas for you!

Delighted winner

Thank you so much for the Fiskars prize I won in your competition. I’d been looking at the Continuous Stamping Wheel and was going to treat myself to one when the prizes were delivered! Mrs C Wall, Kent

CCM: Glad we got your prize to you before you made the purchase! We hope you enjoy your new goodies and all the cardmaking you can do using them.

www.creativemagazines.com

CCM: Aren’t you the eager beaver? So glad you liked the surprise Joy and that

I’ve been looking for a while for moustache embellishments or papers that I can use to create a great 50th birthday card for my brother. He’s well-known amongst family and friends for his big, bushy moustache so can you point me in the right direction as I’ve had no luck so far? Gemma Sherratt, Cheshire

you got experimenting with your new goodies so quickly! Enjoy making more cards with them.
