Listening from outside. Listening from inside. Listening to the sound of silence.

‘Sound’ is a kind of trick that helps in meditation. ‘Sound’ of natural, animals, water, plants and wind. ‘Sound’ adds more dimension of aesthetic. Use your mind to listen carefully.

EXISTING TREE

SLOPE ANALYSIS

GREEN SPACE BEFORE

Plumeria are still in small size which make them easy to move. If leave them just like that, it would make the trees not to have enough room to grow. Moreover Plumeria won’t effect the ecology system that much and it does not give shade like other kind of tree.

GREEN SPACE DEVELOPEMENT

The main concrete floor before renovating is too large with non-separstion to make it has more sub spaces and has few green spaces or planting making the atmosphere is even more hot, dry weather and unpleasent to use. Also it may be drainage problem because the material does not absorb water at all.

The main concrete floor after renovating adding more areas to absorb run-off water such as planting, clay court and lawn, to assist the drainage system of the existing concrete floor. This will economical use of water for watering plants, allow the space to be pleasent to use more and to be more shady, reduce the heat from the concrete floor.

PRIVACY ANALYSIS

Cubicle have to be private. Moreover zone planning is important in every temple. Monastery and buddhist shrine should be seperated from each other clearly. For meditation, the space should making people to be calm and conscious, without noise that may came from people who used the temporary space. The area supported temporary activities that is easy to access to facilities and no need for privacy or silence to concentrate.

WALL MATHERIALS

Rough concrete walls are solid and hard surface material, making the echo sound. In addition to the rough surface supporting the echo is spread out more in diverse direction, creating surruonding of echo sound and rumbling natural forest in non-meditation areas. The porous skin of wooden wall can absorb noise from people, vehicle or any unwanted noise in meditation areas.

The Thermal Bath in the place where once was already exploited by human’s consumption. To make human and nature live together freely without any more exploting is to make people profoundly understand how beautiful is the nature and how magnificent it is. And also encourage people to know that everything in nature must some day disappear naturally as natural cycle.
