A private celebration of life and scattering of ashes will be held in Colorado at-a-later-date. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls. Cynthia (Cindy) was born on July 18, 1960 to Forrest Wilbur and Beverly Ann (White) Nye in Canon City, Colorado, where she spent most of her adult life. She went through her Schooling Years in Leadville Colorado where her family lived. There were many accomplishments in her life that she was very humble about. She completed high school the same year as her oldest child. She then went on to graduate from the Oral Roberts University. She was also a big believer in community and volunteer work. In Leadville she was a candy striper and sang at nursing homes. She did volunteer work at the Penrose Library for many years where she also started her children as volunteers. Cindy later held the position of Lieutenant in the Colorado Mounted Rangers with her son Johnny. She started work at Three Links in 2000 and left in 2006 enjoying being a great Mrs. Clause and Office Manager. In 2009, she relocated to Wichita Falls, Texas and worked for three years on Sheppard Air Force Base with her Son Kenny as an office administrator. In 2012, she moved back to Colorado to work with her daughters Honey and Misty as Office Manager at Elite Family Fitness. On June 25, 2016, she married David Byers and enjoyed spending time with her family. Sacred Spaces opens on Main Street

Sara Knuth Daily Record

The first time Lesley Gilbert sat down to make her own herbal medicine at a class in Denver, she experienced what she calls an “alignment.” “You know how people talk about — you can spend hours doing something and it feels like no time has passed at all?” she said Wednesday at her business, Sacred Spaces. “It was kind of like one of those moments.” Since that time a few years ago, Gilbert has become a full-time herbalist, honing her craft and earning certifications to create personalized herbal medicine. She opened an apothecary in November at The Hive in Downtown Cañon City as part of her overall business, which also is developing a permaculture farm and retreat center at Gilbert’s 35 acres of land in Cañon City. As part of her Main Street apothecary, Gilbert offers regular business hours and a one-on-one practice, where she goes through a health intake with medical history and tailors herbs to her clients to create “medicine that’s specific to them,” she said. “So, I look at the physical body, the emotional body, people’s belief systems and their connection to highest self,” she said. “And then from there, I can do herbal protocol, spiritual protocol, mindset reset, emotional work, energy work to help them to get closer or achieve their goals, their health goals.” If a client comes in with sleep problems, for instance, Gilbert said she can offer them a tea blend to help get them back to bed. She also commonly sees clients with inflammation, colds, allergies and anxiety and depression — something she said she experiences, and treats, herself. In one recent appointment, Gilbert made a post-surgery blend for an appendicitis patient to help detox medicine and anesthesia left in the system and promote cellular healing. The apothecary itself is tucked into a section of The Hive, a co-working community on Main Street. Gilbert said her experience in the community has been positive, especially after she moved with her husband and two children to Cañon City from Denver in February 2017.

Sara Knuth/Daily Record

Lesley Gilbert, owner of Sacred Spaces, blends a tea Wednesday at her shop in The Hive in Downtown Cañon City. “Since we didn’t know anybody in town, it was really great for me to work with Carla (Braddy) and Jill (Fredrickson) and Lisa (Drew), the owners of The Hive, because they’ve lived in Cañon City their whole lives,” Gilbert said. “So, it tapped me into a community. I felt really supported, and it was really easy to network this way.” In addition to the apothecary, Sacred Spaces offers classes that delve into subjects, such as the art of tea blending, essential oils and herbalism overall. Classes on culinary herbs and sleep are set for April.

Gilbert also said she teaches yoga classes at River Lotus Yoga. For more information about Sacred Spaces, to sign up for classes or to set up a one-on-one consultation with Gilbert, call 303-717-5401 or visit sacredspacesco.com. Sacred Spaces is open to the public noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and noon to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Hive in Downtown Cañon City is located at 729 Main St.

We were in charge of the buying of supplies, the scheduling of events. We’d always be at baptisms and funerals.” Tisone said her grandfather, Frank Tisone, helped start St. Anthony’s Day

The daughter would have been Tina Tisone’s aunt. “She passed away, but my grandfather kept his word to St. Anthony and started the St. Anthony’s Day procession,” Tina Tisone said. As the Town of Brookside looks toward the church’s future, officials said work on the roof likely will start this summer.

Youth center to host inaugural Bridge Bash By Carie Canterbury The Daily Record

It’s about time to dig out the hula skirts and flower leis and get ready to experience a night at The Bridge. The Bridge Youth Center invites the community to its inaugural fundraiser, the Bridge Bash, from 6 to 9 p.m. April 21 at 310 Main St. The event aims to showcase the youth center to the community and garner financial support, but attendees shouldn’t expect a stuffy, sit-down dinner. “We want the adults to experience what the kids experience on Friday nights,” said Justin Smith, the director of the youth center. “It’s going to be a really fun night.” Smith will give a short presentation on the vision for The Bridge, and there will be a testimonial video featuring the youth. “It’s letting the community know that we are here, and we have really big news to share about us purchasing the building we’re in,” he said. The cafe will be open and tabletop games will be available throughout the room. The evening also will include a Hawaiian-style dinner catered by Chicago Bobs, raffle prizes and a silent auction. One of the featured silent auction items is a seven-day trip for two to an oceanfront condo in Kauai, and there also will be rafting and fly-fishing trips, gift certificates to local restaurants, local art and more.

(Justin Smith / Courtesy Photo) Local youth take part in a group activity at the The Bridge Youth Center. The Bridge Bash is for adults only. Free childcare will be provided for children, ages 3-12, at Living Stone Calvary Chapel. Funds raised will help offset the cost of serving youth Friday nights and to help repair the building’s leaky roof. The Bridge youth center offers a fun, safe place for middle school and high school students to spend Friday evenings. Since opening its doors to youth in December 2016, there have been more than 10,000 check-ins and more than 1,000 unique students have attended. The Bridge has about 40 volunteers representing multiple church groups from across the community. About 20 adults sign on each Friday night to interact with nearly 200 youth per week. The Friday Hangouts are from 6:30 to 10 p.m. every Friday. Admission is free, and food and drinks are available for purchase.

Friday nights are generally an open format with plenty of activities available, including video games, tabletop games, the coffee shop, Nine Square and some light programming. During “Bridge Family Time,” there are announcements and “bridge talks,” which are five-minute conversations about internet safety, bullying, gossip and other informational topics. Other special events and parties are conducted throughout the year. Living Stone Calvary Chapel has sponsored The Bridge and helped to get it off the ground, but The Bridge is its own separate entity. Several local youth organizations and homeschool groups utilize the facility throughout the week, as well. Tickets for the Bridge Bash are $40 for a pair and may be purchased online at www.bridgecanoncity.com. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door the night of the event.

After the chaos and destruction taking place on the planet has been stopped, the prophecy in the Bible’s Book of Matthew chapter 24, which states The Christ will come in a blaze of Glory followed by His Angels who will sound the trumpet. This event further fulfills the Bible’s Book of Matthew chapter 24 & 25 which identifies those persons whose choice has been to reject GOD’S Message of Filial Love. Chapters 24 & 25 also gives us the exact number of the persons identified as being ready for a new experience. This Planetary Transmigration will be a re-enactment of the events which occurred millions of years ago when the Star System Cappella was experiencing a period of Spiritual Ascension, as is our planet now, while many of its inhabitants were exhibiting the Energy of The Dark. This Dark Energy had become an impediment to the Spiritual Growth and Spiritual Expression on its planet. It was determined by the Cosmic Alliance that these hard hearted persons should be taken to another planet where they could learn and practice elements of their Spiritual Essence. Those who respond to the trumpet sound will be responding of their free will, there will not be any infringement of their free will. Their choice to move to a new experience will be their Souls desire to continue their Spiritual Evolution.

THE MOMENT HAS cOME

by the Master-, through Benjamin creme, 8 February 2009 Eventually, men will realize that they are travelling together on a journey of Self-discovery, one which will bring them in time to the feet of the Most Holy. The essence of this journey of discovery is that it is self-enacted and willed, and at the same time is shared by all members, known and unknown, of the human family. True it is that all men are brothers, sons of the One Father, each engaged, consciously or otherwise, in this momentous adventure we call life. To many today, unfortunately, this adventure is a painful and degrading experience; to millions, it is unjust and barren, the sooner over the better. Small wonder is it, therefore, that so many see life as drudgery and grind, their child-engendered dreams of achievement and happiness but distant memories. Men are born to create and grow in Self-awareness, and need the environment in which that becomes possible. The terrible disease of commercialization has robbed countless millions of their birthright and, as its insidious growth encroaches on all aspects of men’s lives, its tentacles of disaster squeeze every generous and human feeling from their hearts. Humanity is in thrall to commercialization and in peril of its soul.

Reverse

What can men do to reverse this process of disaster? Already, the current economic and financial chaos, symptoms of the destructive forces of commercialization, are showing men that they can no longer allow this monster to rule their lives; that they must take stock and assess anew their priorities for a more just and healthy economic structure which will the better serve their needs. There are, of course, many, relatively untouched by the current crisis, who see this time as a ‘downturn’ and look forward in full confidence to the inevitable ‘upturn’, when we can carry on as before. This is no longer possible; the blind can no longer lead the blind. They know not of Maitreya.

Moment

Maitreya has chosen this moment to fulfil His promise to enter the domain of men and to help them on their journey. He is emerging now; His herald, the star-sign of His emergence, is seen worldwide by many and is the signal of His appearance, openly, before men. Using the television resources of today, He will engage on a series of interviews starting in America and including Japan and many other countries. As an ordinary man, undeclared as Maitreya, He will speak for all those who have no voice, no spokesman. He will call on men to share the goods of the Earth and to embrace each other as the brothers and sisters they are. He will show that if we would have peace there is only one way to achieve it: that is by the realization of justice throughout the world, and that justice can only be achieved through sharing. We await the response of all men and women of goodwill in this, our world.

ELECT

SKIP MOREAU FOR YOUR

SHERIFF November 6, 2018 Election

OPERATION CLEAN SWEEP As your Sheriff of Fremont County, I will run your office in the most professional, proactive and proficient manner. I have the experience, training and background in management and law-enforcement to make this happen. I will bring to your sheriff’s office ethics, integrity, and leadership.

“The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it” By Albert Einstein I will do something about it! I am making a personal investment in Fremont County in hopes of making a difference and seeing change. My campaign is self-funded I am running as an Independent Candidate, so I do not have to answer to anyone but you the people of Fremont County. I will never forget that the people are the reason I am your Sheriff and YOU are my Boss. I am elected to Protect and Serve. I will run the agency the way the people of Fremont County want to see their Sheriff’s office ran. Being the chief law enforcement officer in the county doesn't give me more authority, just more responsibility. I know there is a lot that I can and will do to make a difference. I will make Fremont County a safer and more united community; and reaffirm the residents’ faith and trust in their Sheriff’s Department. I ask that you, people of Fremont County, put your trust in me to be your next Sheriff. Your vote and support will be greatly appreciated and you will not be disappointed.
