Springtime has arrived, and that means the weather changes every day. As I write, Fort Collins has just seen an April snowstorm, so remember those frost dates when planting your garden!

In this edition, we’ve included interviews with local business owners about how they transfer their talents into their own homes and ways to incorporate art into your space.

We journeyed outside of the home into the garden where a local expert explained how homeowners can begin fashioning their dream yards. This article gives us a deeper look at how to elevate our vegetable gardens, how to properly mulch a space and how to identify local plants that will thrive in Colorado’s sunny yet unpredictable weather.

Finally, we have a special interview with the Loveland Youth Gardeners about their nonprofit organization that aims to establish young peoples’ connections to the environment.

Home and Garden means a lot to us and to the larger NOCO community. Community and family are central to this edition, and we aim for these articles to reflect our home environments, spanning from connection at the kitchen table to solitary peace found in the garden.

MYTH BUSTING DERMATOLOGY

Skincare expert Dr. Laura Huff brings passion and expertise to Dermatology Specialists’ New Loveland Location

Myth: I have had skin cancer I cannot enjoy the sun anymore.

Sun exposure and outdoor activities are good for the soul, especially here in Colorado where we embody the culture of the outdoors. Since the risk of melanoma comes from cumulative sun exposure, stopping outdoors activities in advancing years doesn’t reduce risk as much as many would think. There are simple tips for reducing risk. Reduce sun between 10am-4pm when rays are the most harmful. Use sun protective clothing, like broad-brimmed hats, sunglasses, and long sleeves. Invest in tolerable sunscreen. Not everyone likes sunscreen but there is a large range of “tolerability” on the market. Higher quality sunscreens will not run into your eyes nor look “chalky” or “greasy”. Some sunscreens feel just like moisturizers and have little to no odor Many of the higher quality sunscreens are sold as “clinic dispensed” in dermatology offices. You do not need to be a patient to walk-in and buy sunscreen or get samples. Similarly, the sun protection clothing market has really improved in the last decade. Newer fabrics are lightweight, breathable, and made for outdoors activities. Don’t get caught up in the “UPF ” rating on clothing. UPF rating means the fabric has gone through rigorous (often costly) testing. Many outdoor clothing items provide sun safety without boasting “UPF ” on the label. Hold the fabric up to the light and see if it shines through easily After you have had skin cancer (and before as well), you should still enjoy the outdoors. The majority of skin cancers are fully treatable Sunning safely is just like wearing your seatbelt in the car It’s about changing your mindset and then pursuing what you love knowing you have taken steps to increase safety

Additionally, see your dermatologist regularly since early detection saves lives. I’ll see you at the pool!

MYTH: I am vitamin D deficient. I need sun exposure.

Let’s focus on only the facts. There are many opinions/ controversies regarding vitamin D which cause a lot of confusion for very smart people Vitamin D deficiency/insufficiency is undeniably bad for your health. The sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays are undeniably mutagenic which means they cause DNA damage in skin cells which increases cancer risk. Cancer is undeniably bad for your health. You can eat vitamin D Unless you suffer from rare health disorders, your body can change the vitamin D you eat into vitamin D your body can use Consider eating your vitamin D and minimizing mutagenic exposure from the sun. If someone tried to sell you a cigarette with vitamin D added inside, you wouldn’t think twice about turning them down. Ask your primary care doctor if you are concerned your body cannot synthesize the active form of vitamin D from diet. Although your body is very good at making vitamin D from the sun, purposely exposing your skin to cancer-causing rays to get your vitamins is not wise If you still prefer to get your vitamin D from the sun, shield your face and see a dermatologist regularly. Cancers on the head/neck are the most dangerous and difficult to treat with the worst cosmetic outcomes.

MYTH: I look better with a tan.

leathery, wrinkly, and discolored in later years. Every time you pursue your tan, you are trading short-term beauty for increased long-term aging. Adults frequently tell me they wish they could go back in time and tell their youthful self to stop the temporary pursuit of the tan! If you are a parent of a young person who loves the tanning effects of the sun (or hates to wear sunscreen) - studies have shown that it is more motivating to young people to warn them that the sun causes aging/wrinkling, instead of warning them that the sun causes cancer Young people feel invincible – cancer seems improbable! And again, if you still like being tan - shield your face and put your tan on with makeup – this will minimize the risk of having to have part of your nose or face removed from skin cancer in your future years! And see a dermatologist regularly Find one that doesn’t shame you for being tan at visits, but instead one that partners with you to keep you safe!

Loveland Youth Gardeners

Loveland Youth Gardeners is a nonprofit serving young people ages three to 21 years old across Northern Colorado. The organization operates a youth-led urban farm where young people learn new skills, form healthy connections and spend restorative time in nature.

“We

aim to connect the young people we’re serving to nature, themselves, and to create a sense of community,” says Kelly Robenhagen, director of Loveland Youth Gardeners.. “So many of them come to us with

a low assessment of themselves and feeling disconnected from the community. We give them a space on our urban farm to grow new skills, build curiosity for the world around them and gain confidence.”

Robenhagen says the group has several programs to help local youth accomplish these goals, including Repair to Grow, Green Adventures, Cultivating Community and L.E.A.D.

Repair to Grow

“The Repair to Grow programs support youth through the power of nature for healing and growth as it relates to mental health,” says Robenhagen. “Our Program Director Erica Wharton is a horticultural therapist. She uses our farm as a healing space to work through things that can be hard and make it difficult to have the type of life you envision.”

Repair to Grow involves three components: restorative justice, community connections and Carlisle School. The program is geared to youth who are working through the restorative justice process for alternative sentencing. The program provides a hybrid of horticultural therapy and traditional group support interventions in a natural environment. It incorporates peer support, horticultural therapy, art therapy and group counseling.

The Community Connections program is geared to young adults ages 18 to 21 in the Community Connections program at Thompson School District. Participants engage in vocational skills development, learning how to use

their knowledge of horticulture and planting in a career setting by developing business ideas and engaging in growing plants for community sales.

The Carlisle School at Walt Clark Middle School in the Thompson School District participates with the Loveland Youth Gardeners through a closed horticultural therapy program that provides students with leadership skill-building opportunities and social emotional learning.

Green Adventures Program

The Green Adventure programs are geared toward younger youth. Summer camps, field trip opportunities and after school garden clubs allow kids to ex-

plore garden-based learning. Day camps are available for kids ages 6 to 10. Camps are focused on learning through having fun in nature with activities such as scavenger hunts, nature-based art projects and STEAM projects, group games and learning notebooks.

For children ages three to five years old and their guardians, the My Little & Me program is a parent and child nature-focused cooperative learning experience. It’s both a community meet-up and an opportunity for kids and parents to socialize and explore on the farm while enjoying a guided nature-based activity.

The Bloom’n Hearts Project is a partnership with the Loveland Downtown District to maintain more than 50 flowerpots, planters and hanging baskets throughout the downtown area.

The group also partners with Colorado State University’s Grow & Give, a statewide gardening project to help support food-insecure community members. Food grown on the farm is donated to address hunger locally.

It’s for young people looking for their place in the community, a place to connect and discover new interests.”

The Loveland Youth Gardeners takes part in many events throughout the year, such as farmer’s markets and produce sales as well as putting on events of their own like the Fall Harvest Festival.

McCreery & Sun is a HVAC mechanical contractor company servicing residential and light commercial customers for heating and cooling services.

Jada Specht, their project coordinator, testifies that by providing quality services and cleaning on the furnace and AC unit, they are able to ensure their customers are always at a comfortable temperature and have cleaner air by replacing air filters routinely. They also install humidifiers to help increase the humidity in homes to eliminate dry skin, hair and static.

In her own home, Jada loves to lounge in her living room; this is where she spends the majority of her time with her family and it’s where they create memories together. With a properly serviced fireplace, it’s easy for them to use the living room as a cozy communal space.

Mike and Kim’s favorite part of their own home is the family room. Kim mentioned that “before the remodel, we never sat and enjoyed a movie or conversation — now, we have an inviting and cozy space to connect and enjoy some time together!”

Kim and Mike have also worked on a plethora of home renovations and have enjoyed all of them. “Every client has their own story and seeing their needs and wants and how they affect their lives and knowing how we can help transform that for them is priceless.”

Spring Trend

Utilizing space in your own home is the trend for Kim and Mike. They note that Colorado homes are getting more costly with less square footage, leading to more demand to use every foot in the home effectively.

“We see clients finishing basements for an additional living space and making that dream bathroom go from a deck tub to a stand alone soaking tub,” Kim said. AFinancial Advisor Could Be the Key to Getting Your Dream Home

Imagine browsing the internet looking at real estate — as many of us do — and stumbling upon your dream home. You leap into action, tour the home, fall in love with it and then… what?

Here’s where having a financial advisor on your side can be the difference between moving into your dream home and staying put, knowing “the big one” slipped through your fingers.

Sara Hemmings, who wears many hats with The Hemmings Group at Morgan Stanley in Loveland including vice president, global sports and entertainment associate director and financial advisor, weighed in.

“Working with a financial advisor can be exceptionally impactful in regards to being able to afford to purchase or build your dream home,” Hemmings said.

Hemmings went on to say that a financial advisor can help in many ways, including helping you create a budget and cash flow plan that allows you to save for a down payment or providing you with education about building your credit score for future loan applications.

A financial advisor can also provide different purchase options, like securities-based loans or traditional or interest-only financing, to help clients purchase a home.

“A discussion with your professional advisor is absolutely worth the time,” Hemmings said.

There are several different directions to go, and Hemmings recommends

digging right in.

“Education, education, education,” Hemmings said. “There are so many investment and lending strategies out there that having someone who knows the ins and outs of your financial situation help tailor and identify the best strategy for you is significantly important.”

Hemmings gave a couple of scenarios as examples:

“Let’s say, for example, you get paid a salary with a large, consistent bonus at year’s end. You may want to consider an interest-only loan and utilize your bonus at the end of the year to ‘pay down’ the principal you would have paid, ultimately lowering the total cost of the home.”

“Or let’s say you have a large liquid investment account and find the perfect property, but don’t have the on-hand cash available to make a cash offer immediately. Maybe there is a securities-based lending strategy available to you that would allow you to make the cash payment without taking withdrawals from your account. Then you can set up permanent financing down the line.”

Hemmings stressed that these are only two examples of how a financial advisor can help and that many other options exist.

“The point is, if you are working with someone who understands the intricacies of your personal financial situation, you will be better equipped to come to the purchasing table with the best strategy for you,” Hemmings said.

Hemmings shared a few tools available to help clients realize their dreams:

Building up a collection in your home can be difficult but exciting. Here are tips from professional curation spaces on how to collect and display items in your own home!

From Billie J. Colson, Artist and Owner of Independence Gallery: My first tip is to collect the work that makes your heart sing. The subject matter can be varied, but it should have a consistent look in the way it’s framed. It’s important to note, you can have more than one area to display your work and that leaves room for other art and framing styles. You should also consider the accents of blown glass, sculpture and pottery as part of your collections. We have some of all of this in our personal collection. It’s important to vary the sizes to keep things interesting. Some

people may choose one big piece to fill a wall, but the other art in people’s home or office should complement the larger painting or photograph. At Independence Gallery, we’ll let you test drive a piece of art before you make the purchase. This gives you the opportunity to see how the art will look in your place.

Spring Steps: How to Prepare, Plant and Prune Your Yard

re you a first-time homebuyer or someone looking to plan and build a new lawn in Colorado? If so, you may have encountered challenges in planning your outdoor space. From selecting flowers to choosing trees and shrubs, let us break down everything you need to create a beautiful outdoor oasis.

When starting from scratch with my NOCO yard, what are things to look out for before planting and planning out your space?

or your yard or desired plot, how much of the space is shaded and for how long, does that change with the seasons and is the space on a slope?

When starting from scratch, it is important to familiarize yourself with the space you’re working with. Common questions to answer follow a similar vein: What is the square footage

How does advanced tree/shrub care work for helping encourage healthy trees/shrubs that last longer?

Any of these factors can drastically

change what you can and can’t do with your space. Fort Collins Nursery staff member Jack Sevier said “you don’t want to plant a spruce that will grow to a diameter of 25 feet only 10 feet away from the side of your house or from the edge of the canopy of another tree.”

This principle extends to any plants you want in your yard, as you are in many ways, mediating a whole ecosystem.

When planting woody species from a pot, make sure that you water the area directly over the roots for the first couple of years. The roots are trimmed aggressively when they are initially potted and take a long time to reach deep enough in the soil to not need supplemental watering.

The biggest mistake people tend to make when planting their own trees is planting them too deep! Sevier mentioned “If the tree or shrub is planted too deeply in the ground, it can have adverse effects, causing tip dieback and stunted growth. Do not plant woody plants any deeper than the soil level of the pot they are in, when in doubt ask the staff at a nursery what the best care practices are for the specific trees or shrubs you are planting.”

What flowers work best in Colorado weather and when can I plant them?

Luckily, Colorado has great diversity in its native wildflowers so you won’t have to look very hard to find a nice variety of blooms for your space, whether shaded or full sun. Sevier suggests shade flowers like hostas, coral bells, lamium and the Rocky Mountain Columbine to thrive in Colorado’s climate. Columbines also come in a large variety of colors and are a favorite of some native pollinators.

Sevier said full-sun plants that do well in Colorado include drought tolerant species such as agastache, sedum, hens and chicks, and our native Ratibida Columnifera, or Prairie Coneflower. Some full-sun flowers that are beautiful but require a little more attention with watering are Black Eyed Susans, rudbeckias, shasta daisies,

and most varieties of sage and salvia.

Planting of plugs should be done at the beginning of spring, early summer, or fall. You want to avoid planting in the hottest part of the summer, as the stress from transplanting combined with heat and dry conditions greatly increases the chances of your plants dying or being heavily damaged.

Also, make sure that you water consistently for the first several weeks after planting while the roots get established, and a little nitrogen-heavy slow-release fertilizer helps encourage lots of foliage.

Landscaping

Colorado has great diversity in its native wildflowers so you won’t have to look very hard to find a nice variety of blooms for your space, whether shaded or full sun.

What steps should you take to ensure healthy soil in your yard and does that soil need to be amended often?

Aggressive soil amendments are only necessary in new housing developments, as there is often just fill dirt under the sod that is put into yards. This means that there are no established soil

biomes containing mycorrhizae or good bacteria, so revitalizing your soil with nutrients is a must!

Adding nutrients can be done in many ways to various effects. If you are looking for a boost to the fertility of your soil, a light mix of manure or peat is great for spreading over a large area. “Both are good for layering over broadcast seed if you are looking to plant native drought-tolerant grasses to replace typical Kentucky bluegrass lawns, the layer of highly fertile material will give a great boost to the young seedlings and help keep them from blowing or washing away, while allowing enough airflow that they don’t rot or get choked out before they can establish,” Sevier mentions.

State universities can also test soil samples for you,

telling you the general composition of the soil you are working with. This process can inform you of how well or poorly your soil drains, and most importantly the pH level, which will let you know if you need to add something like lime to counteract acidity.

Other than that, composting in your yard is excellent for soil health, most kitchen scraps that don’t contain grease or animal fats/proteins can be buried in your yard and will decay and incorporate into the soil in a matter of weeks, adding organic matter and little pockets of nutrients for plants and happy soil microbes.

Creating a compost bin is also easier than many may think. The process can be as simple as flipping a plastic bin over as a perch and using another one to hold your compost. Turning regularly to loosen the dense compost is important as well and it allows you to slowly introduce compost into your yard!

Lawn care can be an exciting, in-depth process that shows the average Coloradoan how complex our ecosystem is. Homeowners can do everything from saving money to creating a healthier lawn with many options at their disposal when planning out their space.

This weekend we celebrate Mother’s Day, a holiday that never ceases to bring me warm thoughts of the special woman that I had the honor and privilege to call MOTHER. The first week in May was always special in our house as we wondered how we were going to combine Mother’s Day with our Mother’s birthday during the first week of May. We were always careful to celebrate each day with a special twist. She was and continues to be the source of our life. Our nurturer and mentor, she continues to lead us and inspire us with her love that crosses all bounds.

Has mothering changed and if so, how? Since the dawn of time, women have been worshipped, adored, admired and cherished. Women are wives, mothers, healers, queens, managers, administrators, soldiers, and yes, one day one will even be the President of the United States. Mothers have evolved in their roles throughout history. Her daily duties and responsibilities have changed and she is continually trying to combine traditional and non-traditional roles. She no longer stays home dusting and vacuuming on a daily basis nor does

she schedule her washing on Wednesdays. Now she does housework after a hectic day at the office, trading in her business attire for an apron.

The growth of economical security made way to the loss of emotional stability in the family life. Because of the way in which society has changed many women who are traditional mothers at heart now find that work takes precedence over the raising of children due to necessity. In the post-World War II days the mothers who stayed home caring for their husbands and their children often did so at the expense of giving up their dreams. Today they would be referred to as domestic engineers. Mothers like mine who were single parents who worked outside of the home and were the mainstay of the family often wished they could trade roles and have the security of them

and their children just being taken care of. My mother was a traditional mother forced into a non-traditional role due to economic necessity. Her children and caring for them was most important in her life and even though she worked outside the home her children and grandchildren fulfilled her. She continued her caretaking role throughout her life often offering to cook during a holiday or babysit her grandchildren.

Although some of us also want a career that is satisfying, we want and need to be satisfied by creating a home and family. Some of us want a combination of both to fulfill our creative natures. We have become superwomen. We have managed to change our roles by taking on more tasks. Some things however will never change. We still know how to nurture and soothe babies to sleep. We still are

the primary care givers. No matter where we have been or where we are going, the mother bond continues to be a life force for most of us. I am thankful that I had a mother who instilled values and was a role model in my life. I am thankful that she let me make my own mistakes without ever saying “I told you so.” I am thankful that she urged me to fulfill my dreams and lived vicariously through mes. Most of all I am thankful that she lived a Christian life and her life was more about living than dying.

Our role, as mothers, even as it is ever-changing, is our most important job even if at times we are vastly underpaid and under-appreciated. I extend a debt of gratitude and appreciation for every Mother, especially mine. I celebrate her life and wish all of you a special and happy Mother’s Day.

Agood night’s sleep often starts with a good mattress, but not just that—it starts with the right mattress for the person’s shape, weight and lifestyle.

“If you’re not sleeping well or have poor-quality sleep, I’ve read and researched that you’re 20 percent more likely to be sick or 20 percent less likely to be productive the next day,” said Cory Prellwitz, co-owner of Home Trends LLC, which operates The Sleep Store of Fort Collins and Ashley Furniture HomeStore in North Platte, Grand Island and Kearney, Neb. “Mood may be affected, and you may develop pain.”

Generally, mattresses should be replaced every seven to 12 years, plus it’s recommended being aware of how much sleep is needed, which on average is six to

nine hours a night. Picking the right mattress can help improve that sleep quality — there are many options and brands with different price points, like Simmons Beautyrest, Tempur-Pedic, King Koil, Sealy, Purple and Posh & Lavish.

“We find not everybody likes the same thing,” Prellwitz said. “Find what fits best, not the most popular or expensive.”

Here are a few things to consider:

1. Support and Conformity: Men typically are bigger in the chest and women in the hips, and there are side, back and stomach sleepers, resulting in different pressure points on the mattress. Where points are the heaviest, there needs to be give, and pushback where there is

less pressure, helping to keep the spine properly aligned.

2. Motion Separation: For partner sleeping, find a mattress that doesn’t transfer motion side to side, such as one with individual pocketed coils, latex, memory foam or something like Purple’s grid technology that provides individual conforming support that doesn’t transfer motion.

3. Comfort: The bed should be comfortable, so conducting the 7-minute rest test at the store is recommended.

4. Budget: Start with the brand, but then work with the salesperson, who should be a teacher able to answer questions about differences.

5. Adjustable Base: Raising the head or feet slightly can make a huge difference in breathing, snoring and back pain, and the technology is always improving.

6. Support Systems: Consider the type of support or layers, because they all feel different, such as springs (Simmons and Sealy), memory foam (Tempur-Pedic), latex and grid (Purple).

7. Temperature: Different comfort layers can have an effect on sleeping hot or cool,

so opt for phase change materials to help regulate body temperature.

8. Sustainability: Beds can be made out of recycled materials to help the environment.

Selecting a mattress can affect bedroom design, starting with mattress size and what the room can accommodate. A full is 54 inches wide by 76 inches long; a queen is 60 by 80 and a king is 76 by 80.

Other things to consider is the height of the mattress, ranging from six up to 18 inches. Low profile headboards look better with shorter mattresses, since taller ones would cover all or part of the material. Mattresses with an adjustable power base can fit with some existing foot and head boards and rails, but if storage drawers are included, they likely can’t be placed within the frame.

“Generally speaking, size is the main thing, and then you’ll dress the mattress with sheets comforters and pillows,” Prellwitz said. “At that point, it’s more personal taste and the type of bedding you like to use.”

Mulch is one the most common and essential landscaping materials that anyone interested in yard care should be aware of. A loose definition of mulch is any material, organic or inorganic, used to cover dirt, used to reduce evaporation and water runoff, inhibit weed growth and create an attractive appearance in landscapes.

Mulch can suppress weeds, enrich the soil, help retain moisture and improve aesthetics. Mulch comes in many varieties such as the following: grass clippings, straw and wood mulch. Each one has a different purpose, with many helping garden beds or different sections of the yard. It can be a good way to differentiate areas of your yard and plot out where things belong.

Soil looseness can be assisted by fine bark mulch. Mixing in composts or decorative gravel can also spice up the soil. Most importantly, mulch is a great protectant against weeds and helps lock moisture into soil.

The ideal mulch does not compact readily. It does not hinder water and air movement into the soil, it is not a fire hazard, and it breaks down slowly. In addition, the ideal mulch is weed-free, attractive, and does not blow away. A common practice is to

apply mulch over landscape fabric to reduce weed growth. Correctly applied mulch does not require landscape fabric to be effective. Landscape fabric is not needed beneath other mulches and in many cases is detrimental to plant and soil health.

Different types of mulch can be used for different effects. The selection of a mulch depends on its intended use. Consider your goals and the size of the area in relation to the cost of materials and availability, which is where companies like Crystal Landscaping come into play. If the main objective is soil improvement, consider an organic mulch that gradually breaks down. Make sure these materials have not been treated with herbicides or they may damage your landscape. Wood chips and inorganic mulches like pea gravel are a good choice for landscape plants such as trees, shrubs or perennials.

As the seasons change and the weather gets warmer, Coloradoans can start their gardens with a quick guide we’ve created with the help of data from the USDA, the Urban Farmer and the Farmer’s Almanac. All of these sources are wonderful places to find more specific information on plants, but this guide is a great way for beginners to jump into planning out their garden.

Colorado’s climate is contains five zones of plant hardiness. Your home’s zone can affect plant growth, seed dates and harvest times in your garden. Our data will focus on zone 5b, which encompasses a large part of Northern Colorado.

A lot of the plants on this list can start indoors

or outdoors, but find more success when rooted indoors first. Planning seed times can also be divided into two categories, moon times and frost times. Our list will focus on frost because it can severely affect gardens in Colorado, but the Farmer’s Almanac has an extensive chart for each area in Colorado for planting by the moon. Make sure to look up frost times in your area before you get to gardening and have fun gardening this year!

How the Global Village Museum’s Newest Exhibit

Showcases Our Communities’ Connections to the Environment and Others Around the World

Thanks to a dedicated staff and devoted volunteers, the Global Village Museum opened their exhibit “Collections: Unexpected Treasures” in the beginning of February, but visitors are in luck, as the exhibit is open until May 25.

Ollie Bode, the museum’s collections manager and volunteer coordinator, commented that they think this exhibit is special because “you get to see a little

bit of peoples’ homes and decorating in the museum space.” Bode continued, “... some pieces are made from natural materials, like we have our driftwood pieces… We’ve also got some Panamanian baskets, so it’s like bringing nature into your home.” Home collections are meaningful extensions of the interests, personalities and motivations of their collectors, and the Global Village Museum hopes to highlight the larger community that it serves through this exhibit.

What is “Collections: Unexpected Treasures”?

“Collections: Unexpected Treasures” features a large variety of objects, including but not limited to face masks, woven baskets, music boxes, thimbles and uranium glass. It also includes a few interactive exhibits where adults and kids alike can play with sand or write about their own personal collections. The museum’s goal is to “broaden our assumptions and perceptions of what constitutes a collection.”

What is the Global Village Museum?

The Global Village Museum first opened their doors in 2010. Its current location on Mountain Avenue in Fort Collins showcases two permanent galleries, Mundoville and Village Arts, as well as the Hall and Main galleries which display temporary exhibits.

Volunteers and staff curate temporary exhibits like “Collections: Unexpected Treasures” every 3 to 4 months, bolstered by a generous community who offer their private collections for display.

With a mission to present exhibits of art and objects from diverse world cultures, the Global Village Museum seeks to educate and inspire the people of Northern Colorado.

The beauty of collections is that everyone has them in some way or another. Whether you collect postcards, beanie babies or medieval swords, they are pivotal parts of individual identities.
