Daniel Henry Adamic
Rodney George Buxman
Paul Arnold See, Sr.
Daniel Henry Adamic, age 90, passed away and went to be with “HIS LADY” April 26, 2017, in Cañon City with his family by his side. He was born in Cañon City to Anton Adamic Jr. and Jane (Skerjanec) Adamic. He lived his entire life in the Fawn Hollow and Prospect Heights areas of Cañon City on the family farm and ranch. Dan loved farming and ranching which he enjoyed doing his entire life, and Daniel Adamic passed that same love on to his sons, grandson, and great grandson, as they continue to work the sixth generation farm and ranch at Fawn Hollow. In any free time that the family had, Daniel enjoyed hunting, and polka dancing with family and friends. Daniel married “his lady” Marie (Scavarda) on April 23, 1949, in Cañon City. He is survived by his sons; Daniel A. (Carol) Adamic and Anthony Adamic; Grandson Buddy Adamic; Great Grandson Virgil Adamic and his sister Norma Fazzino. He was preceded in death by his wife, (Marie) of 66 years in 2015, and brother, Edward. In lieu of a funeral, the Adamic family invites family and friends to a celebration of Daniel’s life at the Four Mile Community Club on May 7, 2017, at 11 a.m. Entrusted to Holt Funeral Home.
Rodney George Buxman passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017. He was 70 years old. He was born Aug. 21, 1946, in Beaver, Okla., to George and Bernice (McCurdy) Buxman. He lived in Oklahoma until 1956 when his family moved to Florence and then to Cañon City. During his senior year in high school he was awarded the John Phillip Sousa Award in band. He graduated from Cañon City High School in 1964 and attended two years of college in Pueblo. In 1966, Rod joined the United States Air Force and served in Shreveport, Louisiana until he was honorably Rodney Buxman discharged with a medical condition. After returning home, Rod met Jerri Jo Foraker. They were married in Raton, New Mexico on May 9, 1973. During this time, he worked at the state hospital in Pueblo. He then managed Asamera Oil Company for five years before going to work for the Department of Corrections. He retired from the prison system after 22 years, as a captain. After retiring, he got bored and went back to work as a transporter for Centura Health Systems. Rod loved music! He played bass guitar in numerous bands while he was young. He loved going to musical events and helped out with the Blossom Festival as a Jaycee for a few years. He loved traveling to Branson to see the musical acts there. But I believe his favorite concert ever was when he got to see Shania Twain at Fiddlers Green in Denver! His grandchildren were also a great source of pride and joy for him. He never gave up a chance to brag about them! Unfortunately, in recent years his health declined dramatically and he was not able to do the things he loved. Rod is survived by his wife, Jerri Jo Buxman; his brother, Randy (Cathe) Buxman; his three children, Ernie Mink, of Denver, Chris (Karen) Buxman, of Thornton, Heather (Chris) Kulick, of Ft. Collins; five grandchildren, Austin & Ashley Clanton, Alyssa Kulick, Christa & Olivea Buxman; two nephews, Shawn & Shad Buxman; sister-in-law, Pam Foraker; nieces, Megan & Nicole Foraker and great niece Ava Lynn. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother-in-law, John Foraker and niece, Jaime Buxman. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to a charity of your choice in his name. Memorial service, 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 8, First United Methodist Church, 801 Main St., in Cañon City.

He married Joyce Stewart in Cañon City in 1965 and they made their home in Grand Rapids and Kingsley, Michigan before returning to Cañon City in 1980. Justin Kurth, owner of Yard and Sol, poses next to his solar-power equipped trailer and battery-operated lawn mower.
Yard and Sol uses new approach to energy Carie Canterbury The Daily Record No more arduous pull cords, pricey gasoline and bothersome noise. Justin Kurth, owner and operator of Yard and Sol, is taking a new approach to lawn care. His slogan is, “The sun grows it, and now it mows it.” Yard and Sol, a veteran and family owned business, is a lawn mowing service operated by solar-powered, battery-operated equipment. “I was inspired by a father who enjoys conservation and a teacher at PCC who showed the class the solar ray on his house,” Kurth said. “It got me interested in looking at how much that would cost.” Kurth and his wife put solar panels on their house in 2012 and then later decided to use solar energy to power the
batteries he used for his lawn mowing equipment, including his leaf blower and weed eater. In 2016, Kurth added solar panels to a trailer so that he can recharge batteries on site while offering yard services for others. He also has the capability to plug in other equipment that helps to maintain his lawn mowers. He is in the process of employing someone to help operate the business while he continues to work full-time in Colorado Springs as an emergency dispatch operator. Kurth eventually plans to grow his business and offer the idea to niche markets who also value clean energy and environmental stewardship. For more information, call 719-3152730, email yardandsol@gmail.com or visit facebook.com/yardandsol.

Loving Memories of Kelly D. McDermott
Sept. 14 1968 - May 14, 2016 To lose someone so special is really hard to bear it hardly seems believable that you’re no longer here. You left us far too early before your time, it seems and now you’ll never have the chance to fulfill all those dreams. However hard it is though we’ll take comfort in the thought of all the memories we have and the happiness you brought. You always lived life to the full but ours won’t be the same until the day when we can see your smiling face again.
Always loved ~ Never forgotten Cheryl Eddleman, Brendan McDermott, Hope Griffin, Archie & Tina Templeton, Families & Friends

“Inclusive or Exclusive”
“Inclusive” is defined as “not excluding any section of society or any party involved in something.” Jesus was inclusive: He said, “Come to me, all who are weary and heavyladen, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). In the parable of the marriage feast, the king said to his servants, “Go therefore to the main highways, and as many as you find there, invite to the wedding feast” (Matthew 22:9). Jesus commanded His apostles, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation” (Mark 16:15). Jesus invites all to come to Him: He wants all mankind to hear the gospel and be saved. “Exclusive” is defined as “excluding or not admitting other things.” Jesus was also exclusive: He calls all men, but He also said, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me” (Matthew 11:29). Those who would come to Jesus must be willing to be yoked with Him and learn from Him. In the parable of the marriage feast, all were invited but not all came prepared. Christ said, “Many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:18). The gospel must be preached to all men: “He that believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he that disbelieves shall be condemned” (Mark 16:16). “God does not wish that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). Was Jesus inclusive or exclusive? Yes: He invites all men to come, but those who refuse to obey Him will be “excluded.” Salvation is available for all - but it is also conditional upon obedient faith.
