The pandemic has forced us to switch our homes to office spaces. Besides the advantage of comfortably working from home, this setup has posed a serious inconvenience of blurring the boundaries between working hours and personal time. Mails, phones and meetings at odd hours have devoured the personal boundaries. Like so many other people, Amaan is also a victim to this situation. As a single parent and a son to an ailing mother, he often is at the edge of breaking point due to this setup. Being the team leader, his major task is to communicate with the team members and coordinate between his team and the higher management. Most of his time is spent conducting meetings, explaining tasks to his team members, coordinating with the management and sometimes even communicating with the overseas clients which usually occurs at odd hours usually after midnight. This has been a continued practice for more than a year and a half. Amaan has decided to write a letter to the senior management to persuade them to make strict guidelines for employees, regarding the office communication, which should occur between 9am and 7 pm unless there is an emergency/ international caller to attend to. As Amaan, write a persuasive letter to the management. 2. You are not allowed to attend the conference as you did not register before the due date. b. All the employees can bring their wives for the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the organization. c. Please give two (2) judgments/orders where the National Green Tribunal has enforced rights or passed directions relating to protection of environment. 3. Jane Doe is a software developer who is employed at a small boutique software application company. As part of her role, she is usually deployed at client sites for period ranging from 2 months to 1 year. Currently, her assignment involves working with a large conglomerate having interests in FMCG, Technology, Automobiles etc., who is the client of the company she is employed with. Therefore, she performs her job at the client site (i.e. the conglomerate company). She has been working there for the past 6 months and her performance has been good but in the last 2 months she has found that few of the employees of the conglomerate company have during discussions have been hostile and offensive. She has been made to sit in office late despite of completing her job and she filling her time sheet. In fact on numerous occasions she has been yelled at. Further, the discussions during the meetings have veered and are covered with innuendos, which she felt unwelcome to be part of. In fact few of the employees had insisted on taking her out for a private dinner which she declined and thereafter her
performance has been rated 'below average'. Hence, she reported this to her employer who has brushed aside her concerns stating that the issue does not concern employees of the software application company in which she is employed and that this may be an excuse for her 'below performance' rating. In light of the above circumstance, she has approached you for an advise on the following: a. Does the facts and the actions described above constitute harassment? If yes under which law? b. To whom can this harassment be reported and how should such reporting of harassment be dealt with?

The weekly output of a steel mill is a uniformly distributed random variable that lies between 110 and 175 metric tons. 1. Compute the probability that the steel mill will produce more than 150 metric tons next week. 2. Determine the probability that the steel mill will produce between 120 and 160 metric tons 3.b. Draw the histogram separately (for Person, male and female) and write the interpretation. The following table shows the age group-wise total number of Migrants as per census 2011.

Essentials of HRM 1. Assume you have to develop an HR plan for a new generation private sector bank having branches in major towns in India: What specific external factors would be important for you to consider. Why? 2. Training programmes are helpful to avoid personnel obsolescence. 3. Rohit Khurana accepted a new promotion as a manager with mixed feelings. He was proud of having his work recognized, but has some doubts about how he would like the new work. His former job as officer at Delhi Development Authority (DDA) involved regular contact with the general public, recoveries and processing their complaints, meetings with the press and image building. It was a high-profile job involving lot of exposure to media and publicity. With his job role he could build a good picture of DDA in the minds of the general public through advertisements, press conferences and television coverage highlighting the achievements of DDA in developing and constructing residential and commercial properties in and around Delhi. His new job in the administrative wing as manager was essentially a desk job, working with files relating to the applicants registered for various housing projects coming up in North Delhi area. Rohit missed the routine of his old office and the people he had worked with. He had a private office now fully carpeted and air-conditioned, but he felt he really did not have the necessary background for the job. When he submitted his first report on the housing project to the Director, it was nice enough and the Director suggested some changes that in fact meant that Rohit had really got off the track. The Director said not to worry, "We all have to learn a new job". The more Rohit thought about it, the more he
wanted to go back to the old job. But he hesitated for fear that he would be branded 'a misfit' by management and thus disqualified for any future promotions. a. If you were Rohit's boss, what could you do to rectify this situation? b. Could this situation have been avoided altogether? Strategic Management 1. Once the strategy has been chosen, explain the categories of customers you would target along with the price points? (Please assume that Covid-19 pandemic is over). 2. An International MBA University by the name of INSEAD located in France wishes to enter India to set up a campus. Conduct a PESTLE analysis for INSEAD in India & suggest whether INSEAD should enter India or otherwise. (Please assume that Covid-19 pandemic is over). 3. You are the CEO of a US based automotive major Ford motors in India. Your company is facing tough rivals like Hyundai & Kia Motors. You have been operating in India since several years. During 2021, there has been a steady decline in your revenues & profitability. Your market share has also fallen from 4.69% to 3.31% during 2021. Your competitors are eating into your market share slowly & steadily during Covid-19 pandemic times. (Please assume that Covid-19 pandemic is over). a. What turnaround strategies can you suggest to arrest the decline of revenues & profitability of your company? b. In your opinion, would it be considered appropriate to pursue a Joint Venture Strategy or should "Ford Motors" go it alone in India? If Yes, state your response with appropriate justifications & reasons & with which vendor? If No, state your response with appropriate justifications & reasons? (Please assume that Covid-19 pandemic is over).
Operations Management 1. Explain in detail the various types of plant layout concepts that are available in operations management. Give examples on where each of these types can be employed respectively. Briefly explain which layout would be applicable for a Retail store format. 2. List down briefly the various inventory management techniques prevalent in the industry. Discuss how some of these techniques would be applicable to a General Store in effective

Considering his expertise and knowledge in the food and beverages services, he is confident of getting into a full-fledged restaurant operation. You are required to suggest the team on the following points: a. Suggest a site location for the restaurant, assuming it to be Metro city (you can assume a city of your choice).
