Student’s Art and Craft
Toddlers (PG) and Nursery
Parents have the most direct and lasting impact on children's learning and development. When parents are involved, students achieve more, exhibit more positive attitudes and behavior, and feel more comfortable. We believe in parent’s positive and motivating involvement in all the activities carried out in order to build the kind of relationship that engage them as active partners early in their children's education. Parents are crucial partners in promoting positive social skills. In this corner of our news letter we would love to acknowledge our parents who have supported us with their positive attitude. Mrs. Sharma has helped us with her words of affirmation. “Some time it is hard for us as a parent to give care for the single child, teacher’s job is really challenging as you give care for group of children, sometime we need to avoid little scratches and wound while they play and enjoy jumping around .”- Mother Nimesh Sharma (LKG) Mr. Shrestha is very concern parents. He is very communicative and always in touch through our communication book. “I am happy my child has become expressive, she loves to express things that she learns at her classroom and enjoy repeating those words of rhymes.”Father Pragya Shrestha (Nursery)

We believe in the process of Learning by Doing. A child needs to 'touch', 'explore', 'learn' and 'enjoy ' while understanding the world around him. In order to stimulate a child's imagination, we provide opportunities for the child to grow and develop while reading, listening and playing. Pre-reading skills are the skills children need in order to help them to become a reader. Many of these skills are learnt naturally, during the course of a normal childhood, at home and in the preschool environment. By talking and reading with the child, will be doing a great deal to help these essential skills to develop.
Concepts of print: This is all about knowing how to handle books - holding them the right way up, turning the pages in sequence, exploring the pictures, knowing that the words can be read to tell a story.
Matching: When we read, part of what we do involves matching. Children learn to match shapes, patterns, letters and, finally words.
Mrs. Sajani Thapa
Rhyming: Research shows that children who can understand about rhyming words have a head start in learning to read and even more to spell.
Language skills: The more experience children have more language, the more easily they will learn to read. The child needs to hear and join in conversations (with adults and children), and listen to stories and poetry of all sorts.

Letter skills: As well as recognizing letter shapes, learning the most common sounds that each letter makes will help children to explore more. Direction: When we write it goes from left to right, so children will need to be familiar with where to start each line and which direction to go in. Motor skills: Practicing writing letters and words as they learn to read them will help it all to sink in, so a good pencil grip and control is useful.
Editorial
Dear Parents and Guardians, We are happy to welcome you to read our very first News letter of this new session. Early childhood is a very vital and important part of one’s development because during this phase the foundation is laid for rest of the one’s life. These early years are often called the ‘formative years’. Hence to build strong foundation for rest of our children’s life in these formative years, we included varieties of experiential learning where our children can use their all senses to learn and to create their own logic. Activities like Celebration of Mother’s day, Red Cross Day, World Smoke free Day, World environment Day, International Music Festival helps to develop social aspect. Our children are given opportunity
to have experiential learning so they will be motivated to be a lifelong learner. Dear parents, we always hope for your kind consideration and your suggestion for the growth of our institution as we believe we are also lifelong learner and still learning. We believe, a child is like a flower in the garden, some are red, some are yellow, some are pink, and some are blue. But each one is special. They have their uniqueness within them. These colorful flowers make our garden so beautiful. Each one is different. Each one is special. Each one is beautiful. Let them enjoy their uniqueness. Let’s not wish them to be identical by comparing one against other. Rosy Lama Academic coordinator

Celebration of World Environment Day
Briefing about importance of Healthy Environment Class UKG presenting dustbin to rest of the classes. World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 and it was instituted by the United Nations to stimulate worldwide awareness of the environment. A day to promote caring for our planet, The Earth. We also celebrated world Environment Day in Xavier Int’l Montessori with our children. We started with briefing about environment in especial circle time conducted to all classes in group. Our slogan was “Personal effort for clean and healthy environment, quit smoking.” Our children enjoyed cartoon show against smoking. Class UKG presented dustbin made out of discarded box to rest of the classes. We want the world to be safe, clean and beautiful for you as you grow up, and we want your children and their children to have a beautiful world to live in. For
that to happen, we have to work together to take care of our planet Earth. So we can celebrate and the ways we can care for the world we live in. Our children conducted cleaning program within Montessori premises and then made small parade to our school and college to distribute awareness slip against smoking then we had art and craft activities related to environment. Finally we sent the awareness slip to our dear parents. Exposure to such activities will enhance children interest for clean and healthy living.
Creative Activity of The Term
Having Fun With Primary Colors Definition: Primary colors are those that cannot be made from mixing other colors. Instead, primary colors are the source of other colors. The primary colors are red, blue, and yellow. Mixing red and blue makes violet, while mixing red and yellow makes orange. Mixing yellow and blue results in green.Preschoolers can learn the primary and secondary colors.
Nursery
Preschoolers can easily understand the primary and secondary colors. Although black and white are not included in color wheels, they are used for mixing and for artistic effects. From these few primary colors, many other combinations are used to create the variety of colors available in crayons, paints, and other art mediums that preschoolers can experience. In this term our children in Xavier Int’l Montessori had fun with primary colors. “I define creativity as the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Creativity involves two processes: thinking, then producing. Innovation is the production or implementation of an idea. If you have ideas, but don’t act on them, you are imaginative but not creative.” – Linda Naiman, Creativity At Work To enhance the creativity in our children,in this term we celebrated our creativity through project “Having fun with primary colors.” Children did finger print art in group. Children in Toddler and Nursery created garden, LKG made water animal and the UKG made Origami Garden with primary color papers.

Teacher’s Journal Learning at Nursery
Field trips are a highlight of the school year for most children. Whether it is the zoo, market or just a nature walk, children can learn more about the world and how to interact with others when they leave the sheltered environment of the classroom. Whatever the purpose, field trips are learning experiences. To develop the concept about herb, Shrub and tree, we went to nearby nursery on 16th Jestha 2071. We went there on foot sooner after lunch. On the way to Nursery children had to cross the iron bridge. While crossing that, they were excited as well as afraid. There were flowers like marigold, rose, dahlia and many other indoor plants. Children were very excited to see those herbs as well as shrubs as they had already learnt in their class. At the end children took group photos. They were happy. This type of excursion helps children to learn the importance of in experiential way. Kajan Sharma, Grade Teacher “UKG

Visit to Narayanhity Palace
Those curious little creatures known as toddlers – children between 1and 3-years-old – are leaving the immature infant stage, but not yet ready for the more precocious preschool phase. Typical toddler development includes a leap forward in motor development, increases in mental reasoning skills and the budding beginnings of social and emotional growth. Our children are very small even though they showed their enthusiasm and excitement while observing the different rooms, pictures, plants, flowers and trees. They were very curious and enjoyed a lot when they saw statues. My children enjoyed the excursion to visit Narayanhity Palace according to their level and as their teacher I enjoyed their question and felt proud to answer their innocent question like “Ambu Ma’am what is this?” Ambu Bhandari, Grade Teacher “Toddlers”
Fun at Swimming Pool Studies show that swimming is an excellent activity for children evolution, with a lot of health benefits.
Swimming is one of the best forms of exercise because it engages several body parts in an environment that doesn't stress your joints. Swimming provides an aerobic exercise that has a range of health benefits. For children, it's a fun form of exercise that should be introduced at an early age. It was on May 23rd, 2014. The students of Xavier Int’l Montessori went out to swim atJorpati. Everyone was greatly excited. It was around 10:30AM and we left school on the school bus. When we reached the pool, children overwhelmed to enter the pool full of water. All dressed in swimming suit and took a bath. They splashed water after entering into the pool. We clicked the pictures and came with the good memories in mind. Shanti Subba, Assistant Teacher, Grade “UKG”
