The shear walls are grey;exposed concrete and symbolise plainness. Their origins is inspired from the existing Unity building and also symbolise transparency in it’s working and an inviting space beckoning through the fenestrations
Inspiration for landscape design: Ira Keller fountain Portland
To create a series of plinths which connect the entire campus and guide a pedestrian/tourist around the sanctum of Town Hall. They easily double up as performance spaces and a park and play area.

VIEW OF DORMS-Phase I The central stepped landscaping not only provided a social gathering and leisure space but also behaved like a disaster assembly zone and seemed to be an ideal space for informal visitors to gather as well.
CLASSROOM MASS MASTER PLAN
The classroom block was planned to be hexagonal to break the otherwise rigid monotony of conventional classrooms and provide a degree of separation as well as unity.

analysis ofbangalore brigade road, Public domain :
“Contested spaces and lack of Image-ability”
Abstract
“…between the technocratic imaginations of planners, leaders of the new economy, and the bureaucrats on the one hand, and the social life of various groups , on the other, lies a very wide and contested range of meanings of urban space.” - Janaki Nair : as quoted from ‘Bangalore’s 20th Century; The promise of a metropolis’
Bangalore continues to grow at a rapid pace and today the city has expanded into a large metropolis far from it’s tiny patches of planned Colonial imprints and larger ‘pete’ areas. Today Bangalore’s population stands at roughly 5 million. Though Bangalore grew in all directions, pressure has been particularly intense on the inner city, which continues to grow with two nuclei, though over the years this distinction has blurred. One is the very high-density area around the City Railway station and K.R. Market and the other being the M.G. Road and Russel Market areas.
• Top-of-paving) shall not exceed 150 MM (6”) • 100 mm (4”) kerb height is preferable for Arterial Roads.
Urban Traffic Planning A computer simulation has been applied to design the timer of a pre-timed traffic signal. Various strategies are tried out and different signal combinations are provided at peak and the off-peak hours. The model is tested for variability such that it can apply to real world conditions.
Proposal for easing M.G.Road traffic
• Maximum footpath height for comfort in getting onto and off of it . • All walking surfaces should be matt finish / anti skid.
ESSENTIAL GUIDELINES
Kerb cut ramp
•Tactile Paving •Ramp slope 8% maximum •Gutter slope 5% maximum •Flare slope 10% maximum •Lip at roadway 6mm maximum, flush surface •Ramp width 1200mm min •width of crossing Kerbed Ramp •Landing width 1500mm with Tactile Paving •Cross fall on landing •and approach Sources : •2% maximum width • Guidelines for Inclusive Pedestrian Facilities, •of tactile warning Report for IRC by Anjlee Agarwal, Samarthyam.org •surface of 610mm

Issues
•Congestion during festivities •Clash of pedestrian and vehicular flow >>Separate the twotemporarily/permanently? •Lack of identifiable street pattern >>Introduce unifying street elements- paving/street lights • Excessive hoardings-blinding effect.
Proposed MLCP Proposed pedestrian zone Proposed 2 way vehicular movement Proposed vehicular loop
•Dilapidated Opera House is a plea for help/renovation/restoration. >>Eliminate the excess. • It is nestled amidst prime land and sadly unused if not underused! Introduce modern methods of •It has potential to develop as an “urban amenity” and ease the advertising and way-finding. pedestrian thrust on the street as it is located exactly at the brim. •It can receive and hold measures of pedestrians for leisure or to host an event and also ease the outflow and slow down the pace of things. • It can prove to be a much desired pause point. •Existing road network adds pressure on Brigade being used as a thoroughfare. Church street is extremely cluttered with parked vehicles •Vehicular Parking system is not organized and inadequate
>>Demolish the Opera house and introduce a ‘green’ open/semi-open public space. >>.Keep the Opera house and create landscape elements and open/semi-open spaces for public usage
>>A majority of the people who do come to Brigade road may or may not shop in the high end retail stored but will definitely stop at local vendors’ shops to grab a bite or buy everyday things
>>Demarcate a certain area where one can enjoy such activities without interfering with the floating populus and also in conjunction to the pause points so that one can enjoy a miniFair setup which caters to all strata of society.
Proposal to pedestrianize Brigade road and alter traffic minimally to take parallel roads
Pause points accentuated by street furniture
Ideal streetscape for Commercial zones

Interesting bollards
The unholy alliance of architect, planner and road engineer together with blind market forces have, in many instances, sapped the vitality of existing centers in the process of decentralization and suburbanization of city life. -Corbusier Lighting needs of pedestrians are different from those of vehicular traffic and therefore need to be designed and integrated within the overall lighting strategy for the street. This would aid the safety of pedestrians on pavements after dark.
