EDUCATION 2003-2015 :
I am Pranav Ashish Chaubal, currently studying in fourth year in Rachana Sansad's Academy of Architecture. In my opnion, Architecture is something that plays an important role in creating experiences affecting the lifestyle of users on varying scales while simultaneously impacting its context in many ways. This portfolio is a curation of selected projects from the past three years. Working on these projects allowed me to develop different individual and team-work skills. I aspire to contribute with my skill set, to develop it and learn further.

1. SKILL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SEM 6
GUIDED BY - AR. MAHESH NILAKH SITE - JODHPUR, RAJASTHAN The Skill Development centre aims to produce skilled, self-supporting professionals contributing to national progress with individual expertise. This centre intends to promote 'Gandhian Principles' , advocate it further at various national and international levels for it to spread into the world order. Thus when designing this sensitive and intensive piece of architecture, the challenge was to understand the direct and indirect attributes of Gandhian philosophy and their relevance in the current scenario. Then acknowledging these attributes by balancing them in the architecture presented.

CELEBRATION AND BUSINESS FUNCTIONS HUB ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SEM 5
GUIDED BY - AR. MAHESH KHANOLKAR SITE - QUEENS LAWN, BORIVALI, MUMBAI The project, intensive in its approach, with varied styles, themes, conceptions and planning ideas, demanded dynamic spaces filled with aura and elegance stimulating the right environment for 'celebrating' memories and moments. This was to be achieved by employing inspiration and spirit of architrectural style/ concept drawn out of the design language, features and overall reflections of a famous architects practice. It was expected that the project be approached in two stages Stage 1 : This stage demanded the study of the works of some of the famous architects and lasting influences of their innovative and individualistic architectural styles. Stage 2 : Designing the project incorporating the language of a selected architect and improvising on the philosophies while simultaneously planning and creating the same spirit as that of the studied architect.

PANCHAVATI ANECDOTES ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SEM 4
GUIDED BY - AR. ROHIT KAREKAR SITE - PANCHAVATI, NASHIK The mapping and documentation of the heritage precinct of Panchavati unfolds how a community functions with multiple layers of socio-economic, climate and natural settings, built-unbuilt, tangible and intangible aspects. The program deals with the re-designing/re-working existing functions on the site along with individual additional programmatic interventions which stem from each students' observations, understandings, and take away from the study.

The site is located in Panchavati, Nashik. It is an Ancient Holy city in the northwest region of Maharasthra famous as a pilgrimage destination. Situated along the banks of River Godavari, it is known for its wadas, temples and ghats along the river. The city’s tropical location and high altitude combine to give a relatively mild version of wet and dry climate. The sloping roofs, courtyards, timber framing as a structural system are some of the typical features of the wadas in Panchavati.
The unique characteristic of the given site is that, it is adjacent to a busy market street with a centrally placed temple within. Bhandi Baazar Street

ANATOMY OF A TYPICAL SAUR HOUSE (PARAMLALJI’S HOUSE)
Believed to be of the Garhwali descent, a region encompassing the north-west of present-day Uttarakhand Saur is a village nestled amongst the Himalayas with a style borrowed from the region has variations to suit the need and adapt to the valley. Common planning principals followed through the region with alterations as per needs where animals shared a common dwelling. The rooms in the ground floor are used for keeping their cattle or as storage rooms. The upper floor is used by the people as their habitable area. The frontyard is used as feeding area for cattle and for various other daily activities like cooking, washing clothes and vessels. The typical elements of a Saur house are small openings , small verandah prjection supported on brackets, verandah posts to support roof and allow for semi-open space, small roof overhang projections. The small windows allow for minimum transfer for heat thus maintain a comfortable temperature.

A union of space and time creates an event. Event cannot individually exist without time. This pavillion is a pause in the event. The change of time transforms the space and this idea is amplified through the play of light and shadow within the pavillion and in a manner that the pavillion gets inhabited by the people. The perception of this break in the event through the passage of time is unique for each individual, thereby getting inscribed in ones memory as a moment in time.
THE IDEA
The light passing through the colours of the pavillion to create patterns on the ground that would create interest among the visitors and making them pause to take a glimpse of it.
48
Further working on the physical manifestation of the idea the form of the pavillion was resloved into the simpler triangular shape. Inclusion of the voids
EXPECTED RESPONSE TO THE PAVILLION
PROCESS
The process begins with a PVC drainage pipe
Drilling holes to house further members
Cutting into seperate rings
This ring is the junction joining different triangles
A smaller diameter pipe is placed concentric to restrict unnecessary movement
Inserting PVC water supply pipes into the larger ring, tieing it to the inner ring with plastic ties.
Connecting multiple such junctions resulting into forming multiple triangles. These multiple triangles form one basic unit.
The columns are place on site.
Making of the exoskeleton. Steel rod is passed through the PVC pipes framework
The wing units are installed on the columns.
Tying the internal unit arrangment with the PVC pipe framework on the exoskeleton
The coloured acrylic sheets are tied to the triangular units with the help of plastic ties.

INSDAG
CRICKET STADIUM DESIGN IN STEEL SHORTLISTED - (TOP 16 NATIONALS) SITE - GHAZIABAD, UTTAR PRADESH The aim of INSDAG brief is to create interest about structural steel for architectural expression by exploiting and exploring steel as a material. To achieve this the design brief of 2019-20 was to use steel, for designing an international cricket stadium cum academy for a capacity of 45000 people in the city of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. Our intent of the design was to make steel iconic but simultaneously optimizing the use of steel to make the roof structurally and visually lighter and breaking away from conventional column beam grid and creating a columnless facade by the use of arch as an element.

INTRODUCTION Originating from the impression of mughal architecture (Indigenous to the region of North India), The International Cricket Stadium carries a significant mark of the Mughal style. The Arch representing the grandeur, the monumental scale and artistic exploration of the project aspires to invite global attention to the city of Ghaziabad. The Jaalis take care of the ornamentation and natural ventillation. The Char Bagh, has been incorporated in the overall planning of the site. The arches not only form the structural system but are an integral part of the skin of the project.
