RIVERSIDE COMMUNITY
MASS HOUSING DESIGN STUDIO VII GROUP PROJECT
Riverside housing is the community that aims to respond the conventional housing modalities. The challenge was to obtain the mass housing accommodation for 200 household in 81,033 sq., m of gently rolling terrain land in sanagaon, lalitpur connected with 10 meter arterial road.
DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS The idea of riverside housing is to enhance the sense of belongingness, promote quality of life within the optimal space. The totality of housing is constructed by repeating a fixed model for apartments, windows, and landscapes a number of times and integrating each element to retain the impression of space. The idea of materials are taken from Kathmandu valley itself as the traditional brick with contemporary use of cement which reduces the finishes cost to make it accessible to all as well as provides unique finishes.

HOUSING CLUSTER The housing units are arranged in a cluster with the goal of creating a vibrant community. The concept of creating a community is emphasized rather than just merely building a unit with no greenery. In this close-up of one cluster unit, the common streets serve the housing units on either side, with a cul-de-sac at the end. Each unit has an urban farming and gardening area in the front and at backyard. The back door of each housing unit opens up to common green space which improves social interaction between neighbors.

Food-HUB Vernacular architecture documentation and proposal MOUNTAIN ARCHITECTURE SEMESTER VI
Over the decades, Kathmandu Valley have encountered massive urbanization. Once a ample of farmland are now the concrete jungles. With the aim in creating the documentation for the better analytical spatial character of the project,. The settlement pattern in outskirt of north-west Kathmandu is studied. After surveys and measured drawing of vernacular house of that area, new functional architecture is proposed that can recognize the gentrified community.

DESIGN CONSIDERATION The ‘Food scape’ seek to address the regeneration of urban environmental approach which encourages the existing farmers for the production where they get the common platform to sell the vegetables. The concept includes the extension of present community space as the place for all and pedestrianize it to create engagement for the marketplace. This space acts as a catalyst to neighborhood community in order to strengthen relationship between the producer and consumer..

RATH BHARM LANDSCAPE DESIGN SEMESTER VII
The project is located in the chaotic urbanscape adjacent to the overcrowded bus park where the culturally important tree of the local community ‘Macchindranath mother tree’ lies in the middle. This tree has its significance for the festival of machindranath jatra’, otherwise, is used for a casual hangout. Over time, the pollution has degraded the quality of space and lacked awareness about the cultural importance
DESIGN CONSIDERATION The idea is to create a cultural representation through the natural illusion in the existing 1130sq.m vacant land. Natural elements are arranged to appear as an iconic chariot structure used in the Machindranath festival. This chariot can only be perceived from a vantage point of machindranath mother tree. This aim to add value to the culturally important landmark while neutrality in the park releases users from the busy city life to a quiet garden.

An Illusion wheels with stones acts as a seating area provides view over the jatra route. Flowing water bodies placed to tribute the machindranath (God of rain) functions to mitigate the pollution. The greens approaching from all dimensions activate the urbanscape.

EXPERIENCING AND CELEBRATING DESIGN COMPETITION VRIKSHA X PASANG LHAMU SHERPA FOUNDATION GROUP WORK
The Pasang Lhamu Sherpa Park is a public space in one of the most polluted areas in Kathmandu: Chabahil. Its location near cultural and historical areas, emphasizes its innate potential for green space development. With a well-planned urban space, this park could improve the ever-degrading social relationship between people, ultimately improving the quality of life
Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, being the first woman mountain-climber, has inspired us to be headstrong and follow our dreams despite all odds. As an architecture student, we want to challenge ourselves and redefine the existing public space for social interaction amid the pollutions. Our effort to rethink public spaces and memorial parks is a sustainable design that would honor the achievement of Pasang Lhamu Sherpa. It could be a space to celebrate Pasang Lhamu's story and inspire women like us to follow our dreams.

(UN)BUILD Future Classroom DESIGN COMPETITION BY SUPERTECTURE DHOKSHAN, NEPAL GROUP WORK
Our generation has to evolve and adapt to be able to react on todays dynamic world. So is with the classrooms, with the aim to go beyond the ordinary and think about fictive scenarios for the future, Supertecture has come-up with the 5x 10 meters Future classroom design in Dhokshan, Nepal along with other creative classrooms, Dynamic form for visual stimulation skeletal form to invite imagination for movement. The idea behind the classroom was to create something that attracts and instigates children to enter it, feel it and interact with it.
AN EVER-CHANGING CLASSROOM The illustration depicts the endless outcomes and limitlessness of the classroom grid. The inquisitiveness of the classroom increases with the positive chaos created. Light and shadows modulate the context and create an ever-changing classroom

The wall-form is completed by connecting scrap hollow steel sections to create a grid. It functions as a module by filling various facilities, including lightweight recycled cloth blocks, planters, rotating cloth ties, hologram projector. The structure of hollow steel sections and bamboo joists is finished with mud plaster

Inter-cities : Nepal Primer INTERCITIES 7265 KATHMANU PRIMER ONLINE WORKSHOP IN COLLABORATION WITH HONG KONG UNIVERSITY GROUP WORK
One month long virtual non-credit course ‘Inter-cities: Nepal Primer’ in collaboration with HKU faculties and student was conducted in the month of July,2021. The course aims to study the infill site of the urban area of Dhulikhel with the format of C.I.A.M grid and methodology for precedent scoping and site primer. This add the new perspective in the vernacular design.
PRECEDENT EXTRACTION The Precedent scoping was done from the ATBAT Morocco housing, Casablanca Morocco built in 1953. This building is prominent architecture related to the Muslim communities with culturally specific dwelling typology derived from morocco vernacular architecture. Moroccan traditional residences were often the courtyard or patio type, with all decorations centered inside and modest windows that allow one to gaze out without being seen. The idea was to combine the general character of low cost, mass produced building elements with distinct individual identity for each living unit.
34
DESIGN PRIMER The basic idea is to differentiate the intricate relationship between public and private domain. For this, the ground floor function as public space which is inspired from newari architecture to act as either shop or pati ( Newari term for rest house). It emphasize an idea of honeycomb pattern as in ATBAT Morocco housing. The structure of load bearing with timber as structural member represents the building material and technology of traditional Newari architecture of Dhulikhel.
