I enjoyed architectural hands on workshops a lot as they were the only link from theory to practical in academics. I also have interest in music, swimming and reading. This centre also aims at the people who are suffering from mental stress and need a recreational space to spend some time with themselves away from their mundane life. The aim is to justify the need of certain spaces for a patient by showcasing its benefits. 02 Urban Insert Research Centre for Ornithology Indian being a varied country known for its culture also offers season cycle during the year. Approximately over 10 million water birds come to India during winter. Also it has its fair share of local birds throughout the year. Despite increase in bird watchers in India, guidance still produced by overseas experts as there isn’t enough awareness as well as platform in the country for its research. Ornithologists study every aspect of birds, including bird songs, flight patterns, physical appearance, and migration patterns. It will provide a platform for ornithologists to research and increased the migration of birds to this sanctuary. 03 Urban Mass Housing Zydus Employee Housing Employee housing is provided for a private institution in the same campus to reduce

the travel time factor to the least. Housing in the same campus as the institution is useful in coming times where such pandemics will be a part of our normal lives. As our initial concerns included individual gardens, terrace gardens and also sustainable approach such as using solar panels to generate 50% electricity; We have made efforts in designing the units to justify the initial concerns. Efforts have been also made to solve the issues occurring in employee housing; has resulted as an interesting pathway leading to the institution which will be used on a daily basis by the employees. Again keeping in mind the current necessity of social distancing, individual green spaces and open spaces in small scale are created which can be used by 2-4 people maximum at a time. 04 Design Research Anhalt University of Applied Sciences The one-year MSc. program is conducted by Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and Bauhaus Dessau Foundation in cooperation with Humboldt University of Berlin. It is conceived as a preparatory step towards doctoral work. It strives to integrate design and research, which are often perceived as separate disciplines. The practical experience of design gained by participants in previous study semesters and in professional practice provides the basis for an approach to design now primarily based on research and analysis. Location: Dessau-Rosslau, Germany | Brief information on the course Academic | Oct 2021 - on going

17

The core of the MSc. Programme, relies on three thematic building blocks: Design as research – analysis of the synthesising practices; design as projection – anticipation and intervention strategies; design in the world – impact and application. The participants gain sound scientific knowledge and competencies on the basis of tasks that are both practice-orientated and forward-looking. Moreover, the programme fosters personal growth and as such paves the way for a meaningful level of social engagement. The MSc. programme COOP Design Research opens up professional perspectives in the fields of research and teaching, design and cultural studies and curatorial practice. Is design a research-based activity? And how does a designer research? What knowledge does an architect muster in order to design a building? What skills are needed in order to arrive at a well-designed product? How does one learn design? How much skill does a designer need? Does design educate society? Which types of knowledge does design produce? How is something genuinely new created? How can a design concept transcend the norm? How much materiality does design need in order to have an impact on society?
