Pratt Institute’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) provides high-quality credit and noncredit courses and programs to the nontraditional student in a variety of subjects for educational advancement, career change, and enrichment. SCPS students obtain the necessary tools to stay ahead in today’s competitive workplace. Through innovative programs and courses, students expand upon and sharpen their skill set to advance their career goals.Students come to Pratt from all over the world to engage and master subjects, strengthen their skills, and become better artists, designers, architects, photographers, writers, and more.Courses are offered at our Manhattan location at 144 West 14th Street during each fall, spring, and summer term, and on Pratt’s campus in the historic Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn.

We are dedicated to offering qualified certificate programs, intensives, and classes at the best value. Whether your interest is in preparing for college or polishing your professional portfolio, our advisers can help you plan your program wisely. Classes may be taken as part of a certificate, intensive, or individually.

SUMMER INTENSIVES Open Summer Courses for College Students and Adult Learners at Pratt Institute. All levels of experience welcome. Every summer, Pratt Institute welcomes students to an immersion learning experience in the creative field of their choice for college elective credit, through our Summer Credit Intensives, or noncredit, through a selection of programs designed for students interested in completing a professional development certificate during the summer.

Summer Intensives (Noncredit) – NEW! Position yourself professionally this summer. Immerse yourself in a one-week, two-week, three-week, four-week, five-week, or ten-week certificate or intensive designed to help you get your foot in the door. Learn from Pratt faculty who are experts in their fields while building essential portfolio pieces. Finish with the confidence and skills to market yourself as an artist/designer. PRECOLLEGE PROGRAMS FOR HIGH SCHOOL ST UDENTS PreCollege programs provide high school students with rigorous college level art, design and creative thinking courses, modeled after Pratt Institute’s undergraduate offerings. Classes are taught by Pratt faculty who are committed to sharing their expertise in the fields of art and design. Students enrolled in credit or noncredit bearing courses will have the opportunity to: • Study art, design, architecture, creative writing, or critical and visual studies at the college level. • Confirm that this is the subject you want to study in college. • Develop your skills through college-level coursework. • Develop your portfolio for admission to college.
