The Cadillac program faced increased competition from factory supported Porsche and Dodge teams, and struggled mightily to overcome “competition adjustments” the SCCA imposed. But in the end, your dedication and skill triumphed over every obstacle. Team Cadillac won the Speed GT manufacturers and drivers titles because of the quality and depth of our people.
Jim Miller
At the same time Corvette Racing and Team Cadillac were marching toward their respective championships, Pratt & Miller engineered and built GTO.Rs also enjoyed great success. They won four races after a mid-season debut and contributed to TRG’s Rolex Series GT team championship. We have no doubt that this initial success with the GTO.R will serve as the foundation for even greater accomplishments next season. As this incredibly successful year winds down, we look forward to 2006 with tremendous optimism. We have recently completed a major expansion of our facilities and have the space, equipment, technology, experience, and talent to offer our customers the highest quality engineering, fabrication, and race support services possible. Each of you is responsible for the success of Pratt & Miller and we are proud to be on your team – the winning team.

Though heavy rainstorms at Sebring International Raceway washed out qualifying for round one, Cadillac nailed down two of the top five slots on the starting grid based on fast times set during Wednesday’s practice. The cars lined up for the start on a track washed clean by the previous day’s rain, making the team’s decision to start on scuffed tires particularly prudent. Running fourth on Lap 16, Andy Pilgrim’s good grip allowed him to race past two Porsches in the first turn, a perfectly timed maneuver
that earned him the "Cool Move of the Race" award. After a bobble at the start Max Papis charged from as far back as 11th to finish a secure fifth place. "My first race in the World Challenge was very challenging, a fantastic experience," Papis declared. "It looked to me in the beginning that the Viper and Porsche were pulling away pretty hard, but we worked really hard and made some ground up. It was a great result for Cadillac today with a podium and a fifth."

TAKING IT TO THE STREETS ST. PETE SLUGFEST YIELDS 4TH PLACE FINISH
Team Cadillac took the fight to the streets in round two of the Speed GT World Challenge. In their first-ever race on a street-course the twin CTS-Vs of Andy Pilgrim and Max Papis went wheel to wheel with the competition around a 1.8-mile, 14-turn circuit in downtown St. Petersburg. The race was punctuated by numerous crashes and cautions, but Team Cadillac emerged unscathed, with Pilgrim finishing a respectable fourth. Papis seemingly had that slot locked up but ended the race in 13th place when officials imposed a stop-and-go penalty for getting out of line before the final restart on lap 25.
"It's unfortunate when an official's decision on a move that didn't gain anything on the track takes you out of contention," Papis said of the infraction. “It’s frustrating, but we obey the rules.” "Once again," pointed out chief engineer Lynn Bishop, "the Pratt & Miller team did a phenomenal job under very difficult circumstances. “We were fortunate to come out of St. Petersburg undamaged,” said Crew Chief Dave Albright. “Andy and Max both had phenomenal drives and returned the cars to the transporter without even a scratch.”

SPEED WORLD CHALLENGE GT, RACE #3 Road Atlanta Braselton, Georgia April 17, 2005 QUALIFYING: 1st, Max Angelelli, #12 Mobil 1/Motorola/Bose Cadillac CTS-V, 1m26.605s (105.582 mph) 2nd, Max Papis, #16 Mobil 1/Motorola/Bose Cadillac CTS-V, 1m27.093s (104.991 mph) 7th, Andy Pilgrim, #8 Mobil 1/Motorola/Bose Cadillac CTS-V, 1m27.637s (104.337 mph) RACE: 1st, Max Papis, #16 Mobil 1/Motorola/Bose Cadillac CTS-V, 30 laps 2nd, Andy Pilgrim, #8 Mobil 1/Motorola/Bose Cadillac CTS-V, 30 laps 3rd, Max Angelelli, #12 Mobil 1/Motorola/Bose Cadillac CTS-V, 30 laps

Angelelli, in his first drive for Team Cadillac this year, led the trio of black CTS-Vs from qualifying through the first two thirds of the race, until a gearbox problem dropped him to fifth. Papis and Pilgrim then charged forward into second and third. Papis and the leading Porsche were nose to tail on lap 29 as the cars slowed for turn 6. Papis went wide to square off the corner and the Porsche appeared to block him. The cars made contact and the Porsche spun off course. Papis assumed the lead and charged to the checkered flag. Pilgrim and Angelelli followed across the finish line for a clean sweep of the podium by Team Cadillac.

PILING UP POINTS PRATT & MILLER RUN CADILLACS EARNS TWO PODIUM SPOTS With a pair of Cadillac drivers on the podium and a trio of CTS-Vs among the top-five finishers, Team Cadillac took another stride toward the SCCA SPEED World Challenge GT championship at MidOhio. GM Performance Division director John Heinricy was runner-up in a guest appearance with Team Cadillac, while full-time drivers Max Papis and Andy Pilgrim finished third and fifth respectively in the fourth round of the SPEED GT. Cadillac moved into first place in the manufacturers championship with a four-point margin over Porsche and Dodge.
Heinricy started on the outside of the front row and stalked the Porsche 911 of race winner Wolf Henzler throughout the 29-lap race. After two extended caution periods, Heinricy's run fell .657 seconds short of victory. "We had strong runs by all three Cadillac drivers," said Team Cadillac program manager Dave Spitzer. " We gave our guys the best cars we could, and I'm very proud of the team and the level of preparation. That was everything we've got, but it wasn't quite enough today."

A weekend of exciting racing at Burke Lakefront Airport concluded with the closest finish in SPEED World Challenge history, a finish that put Team Cadillac on the podium for the third consecutive race. Max Angelelli finished second behind Robin Liddell by only 0.038 seconds. Teammate Andy Pilgrim drove his #8 CTS-V to a third place finish, which put him in the lead in driver points standings. "I tried to be patient at the end, to push the last 10 laps and maybe get a chance to pass," said Angelelli. "But Robin also had
something in his pocket like I did and he used it. It was very close, but this finish is still good for the team in the manufacturers championship. I'm happy with how we did today; I'm proud of my team." The two podium finishes sustained Cadillac's lead in the manufacturers championship to a total of 33 points, only two points ahead of rival Porsche. With six races still to go, there was still plenty of hard work ahead.

4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS ANGELELLI AND PAPIS FINISH 1-2 AT LIME ROCK
Maximum effort by Team Cadillac produced a 1-2 finish at the New England Grand Prix over the 4th of July weekend. Max Angelelli, who qualified second in the #12 Cadillac CTS-V, got a jump on the polesitter at the start and never looked back. Angelelli took the lead going into the first turn and ran 45 faultless laps around the 1.53 mile Lime Rock Park track to take the checkered flag just ahead of teammate and third place qualifier Max Papis in the #16 Cadillac
CTS-V. Andy Pilgrim, slowed a bit by 210 extra pounds of “rewards weight,” qualified seventh in the # 8 CTS-V. Pilgrim ran as high as fourth late in the race, but the extra weight took its toll on his tires in the final laps and Pilgrim fell back to sixth. Angelelli’s win helped Team Cadillac maintain its lead in the Manufacturers’ Championship race. Andy Pilgrim’s sixth place finish helped extend his lead in the Drivers’ Championship.

SPEED WORLD CHALLENGE GT, RACE #7 Infineon Raceway Sonoma, California July 17, 2005 QUALIFYING: 7th, Max Angelelli, #12 Mobil 1/Motorola/Bose Cadillac CTS-V, 1m41.493s (89.740 mph) 8th, Max Papis, #16 Mobil 1/Motorola/Bose Cadillac CTS-V, 1m41.773s (89.493 mph) 14th, Andy Pilgrim, #8 Mobil 1/Motorola/Bose Cadillac CTS-V, 1m42.707s (88.697 mph) RACE: 8th, Andy Pilgrim, #8 Mobil 1/Motorola/Bose Cadillac CTS-V, 25 laps 20th, Max Angelelli, #12 Mobil 1/Motorola/Bose Cadillac CTS-V, 15 laps 21st, Max Papis, #16 Mobil 1/Motorola/Bose Cadillac CTS-V, 15 laps

Despite a brilliant blue sky and bright California sunshine, Team Cadillac's day at Infineon Raceway was clouded by accidents and mechanical gremlins. Andy Pilgrim was the top finisher, bringing his CTS-V home in eighth place at the track across the bay from San Francisco. Max Papis was sidelined after contact with Tommy Archer's Viper, but persevered to finish 21st after the Team Cadillac crew repaired his car's damaged rear suspension. Max Angelelli was credited with 20th place after experiencing a transmission problem while running third. Lou Gigliotti won the 25-lap race, scoring
Corvette's first SPEED GT victory since 2003. "It was a tough day, to say the least," said Pilgrim, who came away holding a four-point lead in the drivers championship. "I was happy to be running 10th, and then with all of the action ahead of us, suddenly I was up to sixth. I couldn't gain any ground on the Porsche in front of me, and then unfortunately we had an engine issue. The sound of the engine changed and I lost some power, so I just had to hang on to the checkered flag."

ANOTHER TOUGH ONE PAPIS AND PILGRIM PERSEVERE IN PORTLAND
Team Cadillac made the best of a difficult situation in the eighth round of the SCCA SPEED World Challenge at Portland International Raceway. Max Papis was the highest finishing Cadillac CTS-V driver in eighth place, while Andy Pilgrim maintained his lead in the drivers championship with a 10th-place finish. Team Cadillac's third driver John Heinricy was 11th. The C6 Corvettes of Dino Crescentini and Leighton Reese finished first and second in the 33-lap sprint. The effects of competition adjustments imposed on the Cadillac
CTS-Vs were evident on PIR's long straights, as additional weight and smaller engine restrictors hampered the Cadillacs' performance on this fast 1.94-mile circuit. "Team Cadillac's results were about the best we could have hoped for today," commented Team Cadillac program manager Dave Spitzer. "There's no magic in auto racing; you have to have some horsepower to fight - and hopefully Team Cadillac will get some horsepower back soon. We're going to keep working hard and keep pushing. Our goal is to come home with the big prize at the end of the season."

Sitting third and sixth on the grid, Team Cadillac were optimistic about their chances in the race. Unfortunately, Max Papis and the # 16 CTS-V crew didn’t get the chance they hoped for. As the lights went out at the start Papis hit the gas, and immediately slowed. “We brought Max to the pits and immediately identified a broken stub axle, the shaft connecting the CV joint to the differential,” said crew chief Dave Albright. “Given the time needed for repairs versus the number of laps needed to complete the race, the team had no
choice but to retire the car.” In the meantime, Andy Pilgrim moved to fourth place on track. “The team gave me a good car with the proper race setup to run near the front,” said Pilgrim. “I know that anything can happen, especially on a street course, so I was determined to run a consistent race and save the brakes and tires as well as I could.” Pilgrim’s strategy paid off with a solid fourth place finish.

FELLOWS DOES IT AGAIN FELLOWS WINS AND PILGRIM FINISHES 4TH
Ron Fellows joined Team Cadillac for the 10th round of the SCCA World Challenge with one goal: win! He accomplished that objective with a .814-second victory over Lou Gigliotti's Corvette. It was Ron's second straight SPEED GT win at Mosport with Team Cadillac. "This is cool - two in a row!" Fellows exclaimed. "I'll take a win at my home track any day." Max Papis moved from third to first at the start, but spun in the first turn, triggering a multi-car accident. Points leader Andy Pilgrim started 10th in his CTS-V, and that position proved to be a blessing
considering the chaos up front. Pilgrim emerged from the first turn in fifth and ended up finishing fourth. "What an emotion-packed weekend," said Cadillac general manager Jim Taylor. "Team Cadillac did a fantastic job. They rebuilt Pilgrim's car on Thursday and then they rebuilt Papis' car during the race. Fellows brought home a victory for Cadillac again today, and it's great for the series that the championship is going down to the final race." “The Pratt & Miller team did a phenomenal job,” echoed Jim Miller. “We overcame every obstable and achieved another fantastic win!”

Team Cadillac ran the table in the season finale of the SCCA SPEED World Challenge GT, winning the race, the manufacturers championship and the drivers championship at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Max Papis and Max Angelelli teamed up to finish first and second respectively in their Cadillac CTS-Vs, and Andy Pilgrim wrapped up the drivers title with a fourth-place finish. "This was one of the most amazing races I've every seen," commented Jim Miller, "and I can't tell you how proud I am that the hard work and dedication of everyone at Pratt & Miller has given Cadillac its first ever racing championship." Three caution periods interrupted the action-packed race, setting up restarts that proved pivotal in determining the outcome. Passes and contact in the Andretti Hairpin at the end of the front straight
shuffled the running order. "My race was pretty spectacular," said Papis after scoring his second win of the season. "The pivotal point was the second restart when I had Wolf Henzler in front of me. I was sure he was going to go to the outside, so I felt the only way to go was to stay tight on the inside." That move put Papis in second, and he took over the lead when Gigliotti served a stop-and-go penalty. Angelelli was dueling with defending champion Tommy Archer for third, and he vaulted to second place on the third restart on lap 18. Pilgrim made steady progress through the field after starting 12th. On the final restart he advanced from fifth to fourth behind Archer, his chief rival for the drivers' title. With Archer in sight at the checkered flag, the title was Pilgrim's.

PRATT & MILLER ENGINEERING WORLD-CLASS PEOPLE DELIVER WORLD-CLASS SUCCESS
Continuing a trend that goes all the way back to the company’s founding in 1991, Pratt & Miller again experienced substantial growth in all of its core business areas during 2005. This was complemented by unprecedented success with its Corvette and Cadillac racing programs, which together won a total of 6 championship titles in 2005. All of these achievements are a credit to the quality of work that Pratt & Miller’s worldclass people consistently deliver. From its foundation as a professional racecar-manufacturing organization, Pratt & Miller developed the creative resources to apply its manufacturing knowledge, engineering skills, and design expertise to a wide range of applications, including OEM automotive, defense industry, and specialty equipment. Regardless of the application, the company’s years of experience, combined with a flexible approach to problem solving, help it deliver results that meet the particular demands of each project. Innovation and creativity are balanced by the kind of practicality that's only found in designers who truly comprehend both the racing and the manufacturing environment. The company’s staff can handle every technical challenge, including supervising the entire product development process. Pratt & Miller’s people know what it takes to get every phase of a project done right, on time and on budget, and they welcome the opportunity to demonstrate how the company’s full-service philosophy delivers outstanding results. Pratt & Miller’s design capabilities result from highly skilled and experienced people employing the most sophisticated tools and techniques available. While the company’s core business is motorsport, arguably the most difficult and demanding environment possible, it also has extensive experience in OEM automotive, military, and specialty design projects. Sharing of processes and technologies among the various programs in which Pratt & Miller is engaged provides the company’s personnel with unrivaled expertise in every phase of the design process. This business philosophy enables them to develop innovative solutions to even the most complex problems. 20

The most intelligent design solutions are centered around the integration of CAD (computer aided design), CAE (computer aided engineering), and CFD (computational fluid dynamics). Pratt & Miller engineers utilize the most-up-to-date and powerful computer software and hardware in existence to design, construct and analyze “virtual” components, systems, and complete cars. The company then takes this combination of CAD, CAE, and CFD a step further by linking it with CAM (computer aided manufacturing) via a seamless network that fully integrates every facet of a project from initial conception to completion of the finished product. By joining together personnel whose breadth and depth of experience is unmatched with the most advanced computer technologies available, and linking every stage of a project together from conception through to completion, Pratt & Miller offers total design solutions that yield efficiencies, accuracy, performance, and timeliness that cannot be matched elsewhere. Pratt & Miller has all of the resources needed to develop newly designed vehicles to their fullest potential, including the most advanced computer engineering tools available and dedicated personnel with the expertise to apply them. Highly sophisticated

computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and vehicle dynamics simulation (VDS) are perhaps the best known computer driven development aids and Pratt & Miller makes full use of both. They are however, only the beginning. CFD and VDS are full integrated with a wide variety of additional tools, including the company’s proprietary Automated Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems model (ADAMS), kinematics, vehicle and component mass inertia testing, seven-post rig analysis, full and fractional scale wind tunnel development, and finite element analysis (FEA). Together these technologies help ensure that Pratt & Miller’s engineering staff can offer clients the most advanced level of analytical capability possible. Complementing its wealth of expertise in the application of advanced computer assisted engineering tools is Pratt & Miller’s unmatched over-the-road development experience. Nowhere is this more evident than with the company’s racing programs, which have brought it to the pinnacle of success on the world motorsport stage. The powerful combination of unrivaled engineering prowess and championship winning competition experience enables Pratt & Miller to offer clients the most comprehensive, 21

innovative, cost effective, time efficient, and results oriented development solutions possible. Pratt & Miller’s operational headquarters in New Hudson, Michigan includes extensive fabrication and assembly divisions. The build techniques employed demand that personnel have the necessary specialist skills and high levels of proficiencies across numerous disciplines. The company continuously invests the resources necessary to employ a workforce with the requisite experience, skill levels, and dedication. In concert with an intelligently designed infrastructure and highly sophisticated equipment, this allows the company’s engineers and technicians to accurately and efficiently produce everything from small, individual components and sub-assemblies to complete turnkey road and race cars. And because the fabrication and assembly divisions are fully integrated with Pratt & Miller’s design and development services, clients are assured levels of precision, time and cost efficiency that they simply can’t find elsewhere. Top level racing is the most demanding and least forgiving endeavor imaginable. The fact that the checkered flag is black and white is not an accident because in competition there is no gray area. Meticulous preparation and flawless execution yield success, anything less results in failure, and excuses mean absolutely nothing. Racing truly is a venue where the best and brightest emerge victorious and that is precisely why it is a core element of the Pratt & Miller operation. The primary race program for the Michigan based company is Corvette Racing, run on behalf of General Motors. Racing brings together many facets of Pratt & Miller's business and enhances them all exponentially by combining its engineering capabilities with on-track competition and integrating research and development with maximizing performance at all levels and in all ways. A dedicated race operation within Pratt & Miller demonstrates the company’s understanding of the value of experienced, professional personnel who can work together as a 22

seamless team. In concert with a strict program of quality control, diligent working practices and stringent attention to detail this ensures that Pratt & Miller can provide clients with professional motorsport technicians and engineers with the skills, commitment, and passion to deliver success. Pratt & Miller is proud of its achievements and everyone involved in the company can be credited with the continuing on-track success enjoyed with Corvette Racing, Team Cadillac, and the Pontiac GTO.R customer car program.

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
PRATT & MILLER PEOPLE: SIMPLY THE BEST
Raising the Bar
Executive staff JIM MILLER GARY PRATT TOM MIKRUT JEFF CAMIENER
Getting to the top and being the best takes hard work, skill, and determination. Staying on top race after race and year after year takes something much more than that, it takes a commitment to excellence. Jim Miller and Gary Pratt made that commitment to excellence and built a team fully dedicated to their vision. Each of you is a reflection of that vision and you prove that time and time again. To Pratt & Miller all that work for and with them are an important part of the team, and that is the reason it works. It is refreshing to see that after all the years our team has been together our camaraderie is unlike any team I have ever seen. Whether our Pratt & Miller team is racing Cadillac, Corvette, or GTO we are one team with a commitment to excellence. This year Cadillac won a historic championship and we were proud to be with them all the way. In regard to Corvette Racing, it is hard to describe the feeling of holding the American flag high above our heads for the fourth time in five years, at one the most prestigious endurance races in the world, Le Mans. It has been a great honor to highlight another successful year for our Pratt & Miller team. I’d like to take this time to thank our team, all of the photographers, and countless others for making this book possible. Without them it would be difficult to tell our story with the triumph it deserves. I hope you enjoy this year’s book and reflect on the memories we shared while making history.

After months of development, and testing, two Pratt & Miller designed and built GTO.R racecars made their debut at Daytona in June. The introduction of the Grand Am spec GT class Pontiacs marked yet another milestone in the company’s phenomenal growth over the past several years. And the GTO.R’s record right out of the box this year, winning four out of the eight races entered, speaks volumes about the capabilities of Pratt & Miller’s people. Besides adding further diversity to the company’s range of offerings, this customer car program promises to demonstrate to an ever-widening audience that Pratt & Miller built cars are winners anywhere they compete.

CORVETTES AROUND THE GLOBE PRATT & MILLER CUSTOMER CARS CONTINUE TO WIN As Corvette Racing transitioned to the new C6.R racecars for 2005 many expected the previously run C5-Rs to fade away. While some have gone into private car collections, several continue competing and winning in the United States, Europe and beyond. Pacific Coast Motorsport led the privateer charge on American soil in 2005 with a partial season effort in ALMS competition. GLPK-Carsport ran a C5-R in Europe, where the team recorded five podium finishes in FIA GT competition, including wins at Imola and Zhuhai. Whether in Europe or America, private teams buy C5-R and now C6.R Corvette race-

cars with absolute confidence precisely because they were designed and built by Pratt & Miller. As the company’s success has grown, so too has its reputation. From the torturous runway circuit in Sebring to exotic locations like Zhuhai and Imola, and from the high banks of Daytona to the medieval city of Le Mans, Pratt & Miller has forged a reputation for creating safe, competitive, and cost effective winners. The people of Pratt & Miller make this possible, and it is they who have earned the respect and admiration of the racing world.
