Our Values

We value Christ above all things. We exist because of Him, are transformed into His image by His power, and depend on His provision for life and service. Our heartfelt desire is to glorify Him through the ministry of PRBI. Building on Christ as our foundation, we value:

Biblical Training

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our task is to train students in the life-changing principles of God’s Word so that wherever Christ leads them they will be equipped to pass on those principles to others.

Authentic Relationships

A safe community where people are accepted, loved, and ministered to as a whole person is our context for equipping. In community, we support and encourage one another in our shared goal of living for Christ.

Kingdom Service

Identifying, developing, and using the resources Christ has given us to offer effective kingdom service is our contribution to a broken and hurting world.

Strategic Partnerships

It is through strategic partnerships with Christ’s church locally and globally that our opportunity to impact the world is expanded and multiplied.

Student Outcomes

As students encounter Christ in the context of PRBI’s learning community, they will be invited to:

• nurture a healthy and ongoing relationship with Christ

• pursue wholeness and holiness

• develop a biblically informed worldview

• acquire practical, relational, and ministry skills

• enhance their ability to love the church and their neighbour

• discover a sense of their place in the church and the world

1
Every student encountering Christ in ways that transform their life, energize their church, and impact their world.

PRBI has planted a seed in my heart that yearns for a more God-centred lifestyle.

TRANSCRIPT POLICY AND INFORMATION

Admission to PRBI is granted on the foundation of a high school diploma or its equivalent. We are very accommodating to homeschooled students who do not have a diploma but can fulfill our additional homeschool admissions requirements.

PRBI warmly welcomes homeschooled students. In fact, one in every five PRBI students come from a homeschooling background! They add valuable perspectives and diversity to our school, and we appreciate them and their insights.

Please see below for the requirements that accompany your specific situation.

1. Government-issued transcript students: You have received a government-issued high school diploma.

2. GED students: You have taken and passed the GED exams in Social Studies, Reading, and Writing. A letter of completion will be required along with an Academic Profile.*

3. Semi-traditional homeschooling: Your education has primarily been traditional home-based learning, but you may have taken additional courses through a government high school or post-secondary institution. We require a letter of completion from your homeschool association, an Academic Profile,* and two 2-3 page papers from your grade 12 year (the papers are only required if you have not completed government courses that were reading/writing based). A college entry test may be required if the student has not taken Provincial English and Social Studies courses.

4. Traditional homeschooling: Your education has solely been traditional home-based learning, having received no outside credentials. We require a letter of completion from your homeschool association, an Academic Profile,* and two 2-3 page papers from your grade 12 year. A college entry test may be required.

*Academic Profile includes high school course listings (grades 10-12), corresponding grades, and the curriculum used.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

WHAT TO EXPECT

DORM LIFE at PRBI is where lasting friendships are formed. Our separate Men’s and Women’s dorms are set up so you have a roommate and a shared bathroom with those on your floor.

CHAPEL is a time set aside to connect as a community. On Tuesdays we connect for formal discipleship, and on Thursdays we connect for worship, prayer and the Word.

FIELD EDUCATION provides you with opportunities to broaden your perspective and experience in ministries such as worship, youth, children, seniors, special needs, hospital visitation, prison ministry or firefighting.

PRACTICAL WORK EXPERIENCE (PWE) is where each student serves to offset Room & Board costs through specific assigned tasks such as food prep, maintenance, library staffing, custodial, and more.

COMMUNITY LIFE GROUPS meet weekly and are led by a student leader. You will engage in bonding experiences on a smaller scale through fun, serving, and ministry on and off campus.

DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS meet weekly to build into each other and talk about real life and the Bible.

CAMPUS EVENTS include intramural sports, school spirit days and evening and weekend events. These are designed to foster a healthy culture on campus and help us grow together in community.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP positions such as Community Life Leaders, Resident Leaders and Student Council are open to upperclassmen. This is a great opportunity to develop as a leader!

PERFORMING ARTS TEAMS offer you an opportunity during the year to use your gifts in music and drama.

MEALS are served in the dining hall and students eat family style.
