The function of the BoA is to supervise and regulate the practice of accountancy and to implement the provisions of Republic Act No. 9298, otherwise known as the Philippine Accounting Act of 2004. BOA is involved in the standardizing and regulating of the accounting education, conducting examinations for registering CPAs, maintaining the rules of the practice, and addressing the requirements of evolving developments, such as the implementation of the General Agreement in Trade and Services, and the establishment of the Philippine Qualifications Framework to support the development of regulated professionals.
