Sports day, the day that fun and games begin. The sound of cheerful laughter and vigorous screams filled the stadium with excitement on the 9th of July, 2019. The bleachers were filled with people and were decorated with each unique color and theme. As you may know, many things this year were different from previous years. Firstly, the venue for this event was changed from the 700 Years Anniversary Stadium to Chiangmai Municipal Sport Stadium. Moreover, this event will be the last sports day that is going to be held outside the school grounds. Because of that, temptation and eagerness to win played a major role in making this day more special than any other passed years. This event couldn’t be completed without everyone’s effort, we trusted in one another, students in different classes and grades sacrificed their time and did their best job to be part of this meaningful event. “This year’s sports day took place at the Chiangmai Municipality Stadium, which is different from any other year. All of us captains felt disappointed at first, because it was totally different from what we thought and planned. But somehow we managed to deal with the situation and did our best. I’m sure that most of us high-schoolers are so proud that Sports Day was successful.”

YL Olympus is derived from Mount “Olympus” which is the dwelling place of several gods. The pantheon of gods is comparable to our class, in terms of energy, talent and heart. These three attributes ready us to overcome all challenges. In “YL Olympus” we have 2 classes mixed together, like the half man/half god Hercules, we double in power and are a force to be reckoned with.

We’re green, we are GN Jumanji. The inspiration is from the movie ‘Jumanji’, which was about getting stuck in the world of the game and having to find a way to survive and thrive. Actually, the colors of the forest represent us. The hard work and the enthusiasm to withstand the harsh nature are enough evidence that we are the strongest of them all.

A legendary animal of orange color is the lion and “Aslan” is the king of such powerful beasts. A character in the “Narnia” movie, this king reigns with righteousness from his throne. The people in Narnia are taught to be peaceful people and never fight or trespass upon others unless provoked by the wicked forces who are foolish enough to invade their land. No foe shall trespass.

The theme for Keedkinnakorn is prominent in Thai literature. The heroic character selected to be our mascot is “Gomutr”, one out of eighteen monkey soldiers. This monkey helps Rama in the fight with Ravana. Gomutr’s skin is pink which is our color and he is the rightful king of the “Himmapan forest”. After the fight with Ravana, he retreats to Keedkinnakorn city to take a rest.

The Prince Royal College and Yupparaj Wittayalai School are absolutely established as “the first school in Chiang Mai”. From time to time, there are long historical circumstances which showed that they have a great relationship between schools for a long time since the schools was founded. Both of the school are founded by the Royal family of King Rama VI as the first boys school of Chiang Mai in that period of time (1906-2449). They have organized various memorable events.
This year, the competition was very satisfying, thrilling and fantastic. During the competition both of the schools were in high spirit in playing as a team, not only looking forward to being the champion, but also showing the real harmony in the team and the unity with the cheering team. We could see that the students are decent on sports and have a high potential in a terms of sport no less than study. Among them is the football match that occurs every two-years. This event has competitors among the present students and the alumni of PRC and YRC. It is a competition of current students from both institutes and also professional alumnus who were once considered as professional players. The football competition of the two schools had been continuously arranged up until now for 16 times to clearly represent the relationship of PRC and YRC and show the spirit of the player in game.

In preparation, the PRC team had to work out more than usual and practice harder for a whole month to build a strong relationship within team. Their mindset had to be well controlled even though there was an accident during the game, they had to handle it. On the other hand, practicing could be fun because they would spend more time with their teammates. However, it’s not easy for them to beat the other team. The competitor is not only talented and also hopeful, we could see that no one was giving up.
In the first half, Arin Chompurat scored the first goal and that made the team win. He said that he was really proud of himself and glad that he joined in this match, PRC cannot be the winner without everyone. It didn’t matter if they won or lost, what they got was the friendship and that’s worth as much as any trophy. From this head-to-head, they gained lot of experience, new friends and strength.They think it can be a base for further events. (The Christian Communications Institute)
The Christian Communications Institute or CCI honors god through different types of performance. CCI started from a Thai traditional dramatic performance called “Ligay”. The founder of CCI was an actor from America who became a missionary when he was in Thailand. Since he used to be an actor, he thought that the easiest way to communicate with children or villagers is to perform, so he chose to perform the stories from the.bible
Many students in PRC might wonder “How did they prepare the shows and what were their obstacles?” First of all, they set a theme, then, they will think about what they want to communicate to the audience. The director of the show is a school principle, Dr. Sirinan Sriwirasakul. She helps with plot and presentation. Some new members do not have acting or dancing skills, so they must practice a lot. This year they tour 25 schools. Each school has a different type of audience that they must adapt to.
This year CCI presents the topic “Dare to be different” which is concerned about the impact of technology. In a globalization era, technology plays a big role in our daily life. It is easy to upload pictures or statements which can be both advantageous and disadvantageous. CCI feel worried and they want the children to be aware of the way they choose express themselves. They say that you don’t have to be afraid if you have different ideas, just dare to be different, dare to do the right things and dare to be yourself. There were five days in total for the event. Each day had a theme such as posting clips online, temper control, internet fraud, the story of David and Global Warming.
Members of CCI think it is a place that god has prepared for them, and are thankful that they can participate regardless of dancing, singing or performance skills. They work for the delight of others despite the challenges. Every year, they work tirelessly to push their limits.

What are the roles of drum major? The drum major is a person who has been assigned such a big role as the leader of the marching band during rehearsals and in performance. The responsibilities are to carry-out the instructions of the band director and other instructional staff regarding what needs to be done with the band and to determine the rhythms for the entire band including walking, pausing, and turning left or right. What made you decide to be a drum major? Actually, I was selected by a teacher. I think they could see good responsibility and leadership in me. Perhaps they believed that I am reliable and am able to take care the rest of the band. What is the disadvantage of being a drum major? It is mostly about times of practices. I have to practice a lot consistently, to make sure that there won’t be any mistakes. As the leader, I also have to practice a lot more than the others. This makes me have less time to read books and prepare for tests. How do you manage your time? School/Practice I schedule things so that I know when to finish and have a break. The practice is usually finished at 7, or sometimes 7.30, and I will arrive home at 8. Then I have to finish dinner and take a shower in 30 minutes. What event have you taken part of before? I recently lead the parade into the field for PRC sports day 2019. Do you have any quote that impressed and inspired you? It is not important how we are determined to be born, it’s all about how we want ourselves to grow up. No matter what others say about us, only we know what to ourselves really is. What advice would you give to juniors who want to be a drum major like you? First of all, anyone who can apply for a drum major role has to be responsible and disciplined. The drum major is charged as a leader to control and take care of everyone in the band, especially the juniors when they are in the ensemble. Also, being a drum major you have to behave well and intend to practice because every march requires unison and orderliness. Do you have any problems or obstacles in being a drum major? To guide the parade, I have to make fast decisions with aptitude and prudence. For example, when the parade is on the road or in a narrow place, I have to be careful about the cars and other obstructions. Sometimes being a drum major is so exhausting that I want to give up. There are many people that really want to be in this position, but they cannot, as there is only one drum major in this school. So, when I am assigned to do this honored duty, I have to do my best.

Activities & Awards: • President of PRC high school student generation “Mynch” • Got a scholarship and encouragement for the long-term research until the graduation of doctor’s degree (Junior Science Talent Project: JSTP) generation 11th • Research done by using JSTP scholarship: use Pinhole Principle to produce prototype of acrylic covering the fluorescent bulb for decreasing Light Pollution for clear explanation, it means decreasing light pollution which is an obstacle to astronomers by inventing the special bulb cover. In this project I have learned about Wave Mechanics. • 3rd place (1st place substitutive team to be a sample to send to the space). The presentation of the research in National Space Exploration 2 program hosted by GISTDA. The name of the research is The Effectiveness of X-rays-damaged DNA with Damage Suppressor Protein in Microgravity (which has only lecturers applied). I’m doing this research at the moment and continue doing it to push forward to go to the real space. Advice from Tonliew. For ones who don’t know your way, I suggest you to try as many things as you want then maybe you will find something match to yourself. And if you already know yourself, I would like you to focus to what you are doing and what you have to do now. Maybe you can do everything but not everything that you are doing is good. So you have to choose what things that you can do and what you can do very well.
The ultimate goal of education As a matter of fact, the ambition of studying is to have a perfect school-record but it is to apply our knowledge and talent to be useful in our life. That means you succeed in education. First, we have to know what is our duty and set the goal of what we want to do every day. That will be the motivation for us to gather the best of what school can give us, thus we can improve ourselves. At first, I didn’tt know what I like or could be expert at. So I started to observe myself, then I observed that I love reading a type of book that is about science. So we can use our talent by thinking that we have all of talents and they can be implemented if we find them. Inspiration and motivation for studying: She received a scholarship from JSTP (Junior Science Talent Project) for youth researcher from grade 7-12. She said that Each time she works on her project the topic is always different. Then it seems to be challenging and when she passed all problems and tasks, she said that this is the best part because she will feel relieved that she can pass all the problems by herself. “It’s like I pass to the next level of myself because my problem in the past is not a problem for me anymore” said Tonliew. The Books on making movies Exploring exotic places does not have to cost a fortune and you certainly don’t need to win the lottery to travel the world – not if you know how to watch your pennies. Travelling can be really fun for people with change to spare, for people who are travelling on a budget, things will get a little bit more difficult, but it still does not mean you can’t have a blast. We have gathered some tried and tested tips which will help you plan a holiday on a budget. One of the most important things is to travel out of season. Avoid trips during the school holidays because this is when the tourism industry hikes up the price. Hotels and airlines lower the prices to attract off-season customers. My personal tip is to pack properly so you don’t have to shop while travelling, this lowers the cost immensely. Another thing that you should always do, whether you’re travelling on a budget or not, is to book flights in advance. Airlines release travel tickets up to a year earlier than the departure date, and the price gradually increases the closer you get to the date. Once you arrive at your destination, don’t just take a cab everywhere you go. The first rule of travelling on a budget is to embrace public transport, taking the bus or the metro can make a world of difference from flagging a cab. You also get to travel on the unique public transport of different countries, the Tuk-Tuk in Thailand or London’s red bus.

The Hobbit is about Bilbo Baggins, a simple Hobbit who never asked for adventure. It literally came knocking on his door -- 13 dwarves and Gandalf the wizard show up to tea to hire Bilbo as a thief in their quest to reclaim a hoard of treasure. It’s stashed far away and guarded by a fierce dragon, Smaug. Bilbo will have to cross the Misty Mountains, troll and goblin country and the untamed wilds of Mirkwood, where straying from the path can be deadly. In exchange, he gets an even share of the treasure and quite a story to tell. The Hobbit has been a favorite of children and adults alike since its publication in 1937. There are many lessons we can glean from The Hobbit, for example; There are some things in life we just have to accomplish on our own, somehow the killing of the giant spider, all alone by himself in the dark without the help from anyone, made a great difference to Mr. Baggins. He felt a different person, and much fiercer and bolder.
Divergent is about a girl called “Tris”. She lives in a world which has a divided society. Tris doesn’t fit in to any of the societies, she is different. She is forced to live a life she doesn’t want. She wants to find where she belongs, so she leaves her family behind and ventures out alone. However, she finds herself in a brutal new life where she can trust nobody. Along this journey she becomes drawn to a boy who seemed dangerous but safe. The book was very intriguing from the start to the end and based around many different aspects. There are many lessons we can learn from Divergent, for example: It’s good to be different and embrace your true needs and interests. Don’t give it all up trying to fit in. Follow your heart, if the people you disappoint really love you, they will forgive you eventually.

However, their love is in a parallel world in which their timelines are opposed each other. So they will meet each other every 5 years, while one is older and the other is younger. Their love is impossible and they only have a few days to meet each other before they won’t see each other again. This is a popular novel that has sold over 1 million books in Japan. Besides the unique story, there are a lot of lessons that we actually get from reading, such as Love is always beautiful even it can be hurtful. Love is about putting ourselves in each other’s shoes and every minute counts.
Don’t eat away your cash. Cheap lunches can be found in supermarkets rather than spending it on overpriced cafés or restaurants. Wander around before picking a place to eat at, if you pick the first place you see you won’t know if you’re overspending or not. Lastly, always stay alert while travelling. Paying attention to your surrounding and your time schedule will give you a pleasant trip. We hope these tips we have gathered will help you on your next holiday. Stay cheap and have fun!

There are around 33 million followers and 16 billion views on her channel and this show is operated by one main MC, Ellen DeGeneres. There are many types of content in this show, such as Burning question- a kind of a quick speed answering section. She does interviews with famous guests and does a great kids segment. An interesting thing is, that she always lets her audience participate in her show and always gives them some gifts as a prize for enjoying her being part of it. This show is widely recognized by how Ellen talks, she can simply turn something ordinary or boing into a funny joke and that is the feature of this program. As I have said in the first paragraph, Ellen DeGeneres is well-known for her comedy. She founded the Ellen Fund, which aims to protect wildlife. The foundation has grown so fast and gotten in the public eye through her own management and passion. In recently years, society has started putting emphasis on the environmental problems we face. They are becoming more concerned about it. Ellen uses her reputation and her celebrity friends to promote the fund. She took a part in the Propaganda, the inspiration of her fund’s aim. She also leads people to have more of a conscience about protecting animals. She promotes her activities by sharing her experiences on the TV show, blog and YouTube channel. She explains the campaign clearly and makes it sound credible for everyone. This makes her gain a lot of attention and donations to her fund. With the slogan “Together we can help save these beautiful creatures,” it helps many gorillas and wild animals from the forest in America and Europe. There are many ways to support the cause. The simplest way that I would like to suggest to everyone is to follow Ellen’s journey and make our world become a safer and better place for all the beautiful creatures.

For the recent addition to the fighter roster, we would like to review the most anticipated fighting game of all time “Super Smash Brothers Ultimate”. Super Smash Bros. is a fighting game series and one of the major franchises of Nintendo, featuring the main mascots of the company such as Super Mario, The legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Kirby, Metroid and more. As the series went on, more characters and video game franchises joined the game until the latest addition, which is the game I’m going to review today. Super smash bros. ultimate is the 5th installment of the franchise and it’s absolutely the largest of them all, returning all characters and stages from the previous installments and adding even more characters from different franchises to the roster, such as Splatoon, Castlevania, Persona, Dragon quest, and more! The main new gimmick introduced in Ultimate is the spirits, which are the new types of power-up for the other new feature named “spirit battles”, which is heavily used in the games adventure mode “World of light” which is a large map filled with battles and fighters to unlock as you play on. Spirit battles usually have their special conditions that reference the spirit they’re based on. There are also new modes such as “Classic mode” in which you go through 8 challenges, each of which is unique to each character and in reference to their journey; “Stage builder” in which you create your own stage and share it online; and “Online” when you try to fight people and test your skills on other players, and many more! This is the largest, most engaging, most spectacular game of the franchise, along with a wide range of music, a deep research for each of the characters in every franchise, and a lot of creativity! If you have a Nintendo Switch, then this is one of the games that you MUST HAVE! A 10/10 for this game!

Fast and furious is an American film that is largely concerned with illegal street racing, heists and spies. It is distributed by Universal Pictures and there are eight films in total, the first film was re-leased in 2001. The latest one has just been released in 2019, it is called “Hobbs and Shaw”. This film is mainly about Hattie Shaw, played by Vanessa Kirby, who purposely injects a dangerous vi-rus into herself in order to prevent the virus spreading throughout the world, but the bad thing is that she has to get rid of it within 72 hours. Now Luke and Deckard have a mission to save Hattie, which is the beginning of the insanity. During the movie various music is played such as “Time in a Bottle” by Yungblud, “Next Level” by A$Ton Wild and “All Roads Lead You Home” by Ohana Bam feat. Token, etc. These songs are used to continue the story. Fast and furious is one of the most legendary movies in the world. It has made over 5 billion dollars, and for Hobbs and Shaw film it has made over 200 dollars alone. Fast and furious is directed by a famous director named Gary Scott Thompson. He is also the director of many other famous movies such as Las Vegas, Knight Rider and Taxi Brooklyn and more. This confirms that every film of Fast and Furious will be a valuable film. If you don’t know where to go or want to celebrate somewhere new, “Street Parties” take place throughout Japan in popular spots such as squares and parks. Shibuya (Tokyo) is one of the best party spots in Japan! In this place people will party until the next morning! Shibuya Halloween is an unofficial event, but there are many people around the world who come to join it. If we talk about Halloween in Japan, the very first place people will think of is Shibuya! If you wish to dress in a crazy costume with your friends and party together, there are a few places we think you would really enjoy! SPOOKY PUMPKIN 2019 PURO ALL NIGHT HALLOWEEN PARTY is a Halloween party that is held in Sanrio Puro land, Tokyo, Japan. This event will be held on October 26th 2019. On this day people will come to see performances of many famous artists including M-flo, Chelmico and many more. If we talk about Puro land, of course there will be many adorable Sanrio characters to come and say hi to you!

AQUA POP HALLOWEEN is event held at a very famous aquarium in Tokyo. This event includes the latest high-tech digital art collaborating with adorable sea creatures and a very special dolphin shows which is held 7 times a day! In this event the whole aquarium will be decorated with a colorful Halloween theme. Jiuzhaigou is a national park located in Sichuan, China. There are natural surroundings and ecosystem. Jiuzhaigou is a wonderland on earth having dreamlike scenery, which combines pure ion, fresh air, colourful lakes, multi layers waterfalls, fertile forests and snowcovered mountains. The small lakes, large lakes and streams connected like a pearl necklace. It contains about 108 lakes with very clear water which you can see the bottom of the lake even 10 metres depth.
九寨沟位于中国四川省九寨沟县境内，九 寨沟拥有丰富的自然生态系统以及动植物资源， 神奇的九寨，被世人誉为“童话世界”。这里童 话般的仙境，四周雪峰高耸环绕着清新的空气， 有着许许多多的瀑布湖泊，林木青葱婆娑。大大 小小的泉、瀑、河、滩一百零八个海子，将九寨 沟相连起来，构成一个个五彩斑斓的瑶池玉盆。 湖水清澈见底，即使水深十米，也能清晰看见湖 底。 由于湖中植被的不同，品种繁多，加上湖 水质量的各异，使得各个湖滩的颜色各不相同， 非常美丽，穿梭在整个九寨沟内。 除此之外， 一九九二年九寨沟经联合国教科文组织世界遗产 委员会批准被列入两个名录，分别是《世界自然 遗产名录》以及《世界生物圈保护区网络》。前 来九寨沟旅游的最佳时段是每年的九月到十月期 间，因为这里正值秋季，山林晕染成色倒映在明 丽的湖水中，五彩缤纷，十分美丽，让九寨沟好 比人间仙境，最佳的观景点莫属日则沟,树正沟 和则查洼沟了。
The reason why the crystal-clear lake presents different colours like blue, green or yellow is that the colour of the water depends on the depth of water and the aquatic plants underneath. Moreover, Jiuzhai Valley National Park is the only place in China that was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1992 and a World Biosphere Reserve in 1997. The best time to visit Jiuzhai Valley National Park is September to October which is autumn. The captivating reflection of colourful trees and mountains will appear on the lake which makes Jiuzhaigou a true heaven on earth. The remarkable spotlight attractions are Rize Valley, Shuzheng Valley and Zhechawa valley.

PRC News 에서 한국어로 된 기사는 처음이지만 제 3의 언어로 된 기사의 일부분이 된것을 영광으로 생각합니다. 먼저 한국에 대해 이야기를 하면 많은 사람들이 K-pop이나 한국드라마를 생각하게 됩니다.한국에 대한 다른 흥미로운 주제가 있는데 맛있는 음식이 있습니다. 한국사람들이 좋아하는 맛있는 음식들 중에 프라이드치킨이 있습니다. 한국인들은 프라이드 치킨을 미친듯이 좋아합니다. 이런 이유로 “Chicken syndrome” 이라는 단어가 생겼습니다. Chicken syndrome 은 한국사람들이 치킨에 대해 열광하는 것을 의미하는 용어입니다. 한국 사람들이 치킨에 열광하는 이유는 한국에는 여러종류의 치킨이 있고 매우 맛있기 때문입니다. 예를들어 닭강정은 옥수수전분에 묻혀서 두번 튀긴후에 특별한 소스에 묻힌 양념치킨의 기본이되는 치킨입니다. 통닭은 닭을 튀김가루에 묻혀서 바삭해질때까지 튀긴후 후추와소금을 뿌린 치킨이고 소스와 찍어 먹을수 있는 치킨입니다. 파닭은 생양파랑 같이 나오는 특별한치킨이지만 양념치킨보다 인기있지 않습니다.양념치킨은 계란과 옥수수 전분을 묻혀서 두번 튀긴후 토마토소스와 고추장을 섞은 소스를 묻혀 만든 인기있는 치킨입니다.
Hello everyone! This is the first time PRC News has featured Korean article. It’s our pleasure to be in this new part of the PRC News languages section. First, if we talk about South Korea, some of you might think of Kpop or Kdrama, yet there’s one more striking topic about South Korea which is Korean food. There are tons of scrumptious food in South Korea, and one of the popular dishes is Korean fried chicken. Actually, most of the Koreans like to eat fried chicken. We’d go so far as to say that most of them are insane about fried chicken. This is why the word “Chicken Syndrome” has occurred. Chicken syndrome is the word to describe how crazy Koreans are about fried chicken. This is the reason is there are many different types of fried chicken in Korea, like Dakganjeong (닭강정), the most traditional Korean fried chicken that is seasoned and dredged just with corn starch, fried twice and then coated with sweet garlic soy sauce glaze. Tongdak (통닭), small young chicken, is lightly coated and then fried whole until they become super crispy, served in pieces with salt or pepper for dipping. Padak (파닭), korean fried chicken served with lots of fresh green onion slivers. But the most popular one is Yangyeom Chicken (양념치킨), korean fried chicken which is Lightly coated in egg/corn starch batter, fried twice for crispness and then coated in Gochujang tomato sauce.
