Kelly will discuss flavor pairings that go well together and explain how different mixing techniques create different textures. Each student will then get to mix their own custom mustard choosing from an assortment of seeds, spices and herbs. GET READY! LET US SHOW YOU HOW! Group, Club, Business, Home Owners Association, Neighborhood or Team. Schedule a FREE class today. In an effort to better prepare our community for potential disasters, the Fire Department will be conducting free “Are You Ready” training classes. This one to two hour presentation will provide valuable information on topics such as: • Creating a family/office disaster plan • Assembling home/office and portable disaster supply kit • Sheltering in place • Evacuation procedures • Preparing for and responding to specific disasters Since we can only do our best to prevent man-made disasters and terrorism, and since we certainly can’t control “mother-nature”, it’s only a matter of time before a minor or major incident occurs in or around our immediate area. When a disaster happens and Police, Fire and Emergency Services are overwhelmed, will you be prepared to care for yourself, family, friends and neighbors? In all places, home, work or school, it pays to be ready and prepared to deal with all types of natural and man-made disasters. Here on the Peninsula, we are subject to power outages, earthquakes, fires, floods, severe storms, extreme heat, gas leaks, plane crashes, disease and/or flu pandemics, and a host of other possible situations. The potential for an act of terror adds yet another dimension to disaster awareness and preparedness. Training is offered at the Fire Station or at your location, to neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and community groups of 20 or more. Schedule a FREE presentation for your group. Please contact: Christy Adonis, Emergency Preparedness Outreach Coordinator (650) 780-7400 or cadonis@redwoodcity.org

FITNESS
Age 13+ with Vera Quijano, www.VeraQuijano.com Chakras are junction points of spiraling energy that govern your physical, mental, and emotional wellness. They correlate with specific structures and functions of your body, and are heavily influenced by various circumstances in your life. When these wheels of energy endure stress, your body mind coordination is disrupted, and life may become overwhelming. Mantras are sounds that are repeated to aid in concentration. This guided meditation class is designed to utilize mantras to help you heal your seven primary chakras, coordinate and balance the energy between them, and revive your personal power to energize them. The ultimate intention of this practice is to help you create harmony and restore peace to your everyday life. Appropriate for men, women, and teens. Wear comfortable clothing. If preferred, bring a pillow or blanket to sit on.
with Linda Scheer Chi Kung warm-ups, deep breathing, the Tai Chi stance and principles, the long integrated form, applications, and partner movement are covered. Partner movement is approached without force and only when the student is comfortable with it. Talk with the instructor about your movement experience prior to registering for the Intermediate class. Pay full fee or drop-in for $17 per class. Location: RMCC
