Senior Peer Counseling Program The Senior Peer Counseling program works to ensure no one faces the challenges of aging alone. Specially-trained volunteer counselors provide weekly visits to adults age 55+ to help manage transitions and life changes such as health concerns, mobility issues, caregiver needs, and grief. Special care is taken to connect participants with someone who shares similar life-experiences and perspectives, with programs offered in languages such as English, Mandarin, Spanish, and Tagalog, and to participants who identify as LGBTQ. Peer counselors meet with participants via telephone, zoom or when possible in person. For more information contact Ann Blick-Hamer at 650-403-4300, x 4322 or email ablickhamer@peninsulafamilyservice.org.
Get App-y! If you are 55 or older and enjoy using apps, we have a great opportunity for you! In 2021 Peninsula Family Service will be recruiting a group of participants to try the Wysa app and provide feedback. It is natural to feel anxious during these difficult times and Wysa is an App that can support emotional health, relieve stress and anxiety through a variety of calming activities. Wysa has helped over two and a half million people and we want to know if you think older adults in San Mateo County will find it helpful too. Participants will receive gift cards. Tell a friend and sign-up together! For more information or to sign-up to test Wysa, email Arlene Aquino aaquino@peninsulafamilyservice.org or call 650-403-4300 ext. 4327. SUMMER 2021 ACTIVITY GUIDE

Research shows that total immersion is the best way for children to develop a long lasting foundation in the Spanish language. 90% of instruction will be in Spanish and 10% in English. The classes are designed to spark and maintain children’s interest in Spanish by engaging them in creative and enjoyable cultural activities such as dancing, singing, literature, art and games. Through immersion, children will learn the Spanish language naturally and easily as they master basic pre-school skills. CLASS

New Emergency Forms- ePACT
We know your time is valuable, which is why we wanted to find a better solution for managing those pesky emergency forms that we make you fill out each week. We are excited to announce that we will be using a new program called ePACT- a one stop shop for emergency forms! By using ePact, we can ensure that your information is accurate, legible, and highly secure- like banking standards secure. The best part? It's webbased, so no more paper forms, and even better, you only need to update it when your information changes! That's one form for multiple programs! Look for more information as we approach summer!
