New York (Nov. 19, 2013) — The annual appearance of fruitcake on our nation’s supermarket shelves can mean only one thing: the holidays are upon us. And with that comes the creeping panic over what to give hard-to-buy-for friends and family members. The perfect solution: CityPASS® ticket booklets. Not only do they save you up to half off admission to the top attractions in 11 North American destinations, they beat fruitcake hands down in five important ways: 1. You always know what’s inside: Are those chewy shriveled things candied cherries? Cranberries? Currants? And is that a hint of rum or brandy? Fruitcake ingredients can be a bit of a mystery. But you’ll never wonder what’s inside a CityPASS ticket booklet, which always contains deeply discounted admission to the very best five or six marquee attractions in a given destination: places like the Empire State Building in New York City, Disneyland in Southern California, Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, and San Francisco’s famous cable cars. 2. They’re time savers: You can try buttering up an attraction’s ticket taker with a slice of fruitcake, but the only way you’re guaranteed to skip the queue at many attractions is with a trusty CityPASS ticket booklet, which lets holders save time and bypass the main-entrance ticket line like a VIP. 3. They’re waistline and budget-friendly: What better way to avoid holiday calories than by cutting out the fruitcake and getting a little exercise strolling through museums, aquariums, zoos and historical sites? CityPASS ticket booklets can make that happen. And as good as the booklets are for your waistline, they’re even better for your wallet, saving you up to half off the combined cost of the included admission tickets. 4. People actually like them: Okay, some fruitcakes are bearable, but most are met with a forced smile and an “Oh, you shouldn’t have. No, I mean it. Really! You shouldn’t have.” But the gift of travel is always appreciated. Imagine the memories you’ll help create for your nieces, nephews, siblings, children, coworkers, and friends when you give a CityPASS ticket booklet to one of 11 major North American cities. 5. They’re an antidote for challenging holiday houseguests: An extra large bite of fruitcake may keep Uncle George from regaling you with his peculiar brand of politics for a minute or two, but a CityPASS ticket booklet can keep him out of your hair for days. He’ll be off enjoying the sights and having a ball while you savor some much-needed downtime that you can use for baking, wrapping gifts, decorating, or even just a nap. Once activated (first used), CityPASS ticket booklets are valid for nine consecutive days (14 days for the Southern California CityPASS admission card). They can be purchased online at CityPASS.com or at any of the participating attractions. For more than 15 years, CityPASS ticket booklets have been a premier product for travelers who want to visit a destination’s top attractions while enjoying significant savings of up to 50 percent. CityPASS ticket booklets, which have a 95 percent customer recommendation rating, are available for New York City, Atlanta, Boston, CityPASS® is a registered trademark of City Pass, Inc., Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Southern California and Toronto. There are a lot of family friendly activities in Houston, here are some of my favorites. Cooper from Cavender’s Boot City

HOUSTON The Natural Science Museum has a lot of stuff. There are permanent collections of minerals, natural history exhibits, a planetarium with laser shows and an Imax theater, a butterfly habitat, a paleontology exhibit with dinosaurs, and a new chemistry hall. This place is very crowded, especially on weekends, and you should call in advance for reservations for the Imax, planetarium and butterfly exhibit. The Cockrell Butterfly Center at the Houston Museum of Natural Science is a stunning, living exhibit that showcases hundreds of live butterflies in a naturalistic t li ti rainforest i f t setting. tti TThe central conservatory is a dramatic three-story glass cone filled with tropical plants and exotic butterflies. During a typical visit, one can expect to see 50 to 60 different species of the world’s largest and most colorful butterfly species, flying through the balmy air, hovering over flowers or sipping fruit juice – and occasionally, landing on visitors! Downtown Aquarium Sea creatures of every shape and size are on view at the Downtown Aquarium. The Sunken Temple exhibit reveals the wonders of ancient Mayan culture and the underwater world, while a journey on the Shark Voyage gives you an intimate view of the ocean's most infamous predators. A great place for family fun, the aquarium also features outdoor attractions such as the 100-foot Diving Bell Ferris Wheel and the Dancing Fountains. Drink and dine at the Aquarium Restaurant or the Dive Lounge. And while there, make sure to check out the new white tigers exhibit.

Space Center Houston is the visitor center for NASA's Johnson Space Center. It's the product of the joint efforts of NASA and Disney Imagineering. Easily the most popular attraction in the Houston area, there's nothing like it anywhere else in the world. You'll find plenty of exhibits and activities to interest both adults and children. Western Dreamin’ We know your child’s dreams are as big as the wild west. Whether they're dreaming about riding and roping on the ranch or racing into first place around the barrels, Cavender’ss has the hats, belts, boots, jeans and nd western shirts kids love! The Texas fought in both World Wars, and has recently been extensively repaired. You can wander all over the ship, above and below deck. CityPASS Winter Special Gives Holiday Travelers More Time to Visit Top Attractions While Still Saving Up to Half Off Admission Prices New York, N.Y. (November 12, 2013) — City Pass, the company that packages deeply discounted admission to the top attractions in major North American destinations, has an extra treat for holiday travelers. The annual Winter Special dramatically lengthens each CityPASS® ticket booklet’s traditional nine-day validity period. Beginning Dec. 15, 2013, visitors purchasing or activating previously purchased CityPASS ticket booklets for New York City, Boston, Houston, Philadelphia or Seattle will have up to 75 days (until Feb. 28, 2014) to redeem the included attraction tickets (one use per individual ticket). Typically, once the first admission ticket in a booklet is redeemed, CityPASS holders have nine days in which to use the remaining attraction tickets. Winter Special, however, waives the nine-day rule, extending the usage period considerably. In addition to having more time to enjoy leading attractions, travelers with CityPASS ticket booklets will continue to save up to 50 percent off the cost of purchasing the included attraction tickets separately. CityPASS ticket booklets also save time, allowing users to bypass most mainentrance ticket lines. While visitors have always found CityPASS ticket booklets to be a great deal, the expanded Winter Special usage period also makes the pass attractive to locals who may be hosting friends or family members over the holidays — not to mention looking for ways to entertain the kids over winter break. The Winter Special concept encourages sightseers, both out-of-towners and regional visitors alike, to take their time and explore a city at a leisurely pace. Houston CityPASS Savings: 46 percent Cost: $46 adult | $36 child (3-11) Included Attractions: Space Center Houston (NASA), Downtown Aquarium, Houston Museum of Natural Science, a choice between the Houston Zoo or a Kemah Boardwalk All-Day Ride Pass, and a choice between the Children’s Museum of Houston or the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. CityPASS® is a registered trademark of City Pass, Inc., www.citypass.com/houston and the exclusive property of City Pass, Inc.
