Bayou Bend is the MFAH house museum for American decorative arts and paintings. Displayed in the former home of Houston civic leader and philanthropist Ima Hogg (1882–1975), the collection is one of the finest showcases of American furnishings, silver, ceramics, and paintings in the world. The house is situated on 14 acres of organically maintained gardens in Houston’s historic River Oaks neighborhood. Space Center Houston is the visitor center for NASA’s Johnson Space Center. It’s the product of the joint eorts of NASA and Disney Imagineering. Reserve 101 is a great place to kick start an evening or cap it o – this corner bar may be small and narrow, but the drinks pack quite a punch for your buck. The small lounge upstairs overlooks the bar and is the perfect place to mingle and relax with your glass. The whiskey and scotch list is the specialty thing here, with more than 125 whiskeys, bourbons and scotch varietals. The King’s Head Pub hails back to royal Britannia with a classic wood features, a large stone fireplace, a portrait of King Henry VIII.
