Monkey Business has been adding the extra to the ordinary since 1994. We shine a light on the little things that make up your day so you can see them from a new perspective. It is our aim to bring beauty and originality to the home & office and to help organize surroundings with style. Our products are expertly designed yet affordable. Practical yet humorous. We champion the leading product designers of Israel, from talented youngsters to experienced professionals, including a close collaboration with our compatriots Peleg Design. This year Monkey Business celebrates 20 (!) years since Oded Friedland graduated from the Bezalel School of Art & Design with a degree in product design, a head full of ideas and a funky ashtray in hand. The Plughole Ashtray became his first commercially available product and Monkey Business was born. Many years and many products later, our catalogue boasts a wide ranging and eclectic mix of innovative design. Our “Love your Cooking” line of fun kitchen gifts has grown significantly, with newcomers Hug Doug and Cucumbo strengthening the successes of current bestsellers Lid Sid and Karoto. At the same time, with an eye on the environment, we have increased our focus on development of items for re-use. Our magical Corkers continue to light up dinner parties the world over, reaching new heights with the new Corkers Totem. Other notably green products come in the shape of the Eco Clip that creates notebooks from used paper and La Bella for labelling jars, cans or other ‘used’ containers. Enjoy !

The world of PELEG DESIGN revolves around three basic principles: functionality, aesthetics and humor. It is a world motivated by continuous curiosity with the explicit purpose to transform what was once an average, been-there-done-that concept into an innovative and truly exciting experience. PELEG DESIGN studio was founded in 2004 by Shahar Peleg, who holds a B.A. in Design and Interior Architecture from the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT). The studio’s products are designed to be used in homes, offices and other living spaces. Beyond the end-product, Shahar provides the observer with a complete, all inclusive experience. Through optical illusions that stretch the limits and break conventions, he invites the viewer to take a closer look, revealing a fresh perspective to everyday products. The viewer is encouraged to discover that beyond the products’ functionality there is a surprising game of enchantment and humor to be found. The products’ design follows a clean and minimalist line. Using a variety of materials and methods, most of the products are mass produced, others are manufactured in limited series while a select few are single, hand-made copies.
