About Premier Players 2020

FANS ARE SUCH A BIG PART OF THE GAMES, SO WE WANTED TO COME UP WITH AN AWARD THAT THEY CAN BE A BIG PART OF TOO.
We COULDN’T DO IT without the FANS!

College football, or any sport for that matter, would not bring excitement to millions of people each year if it wasn’t for the fans. Yet, when it came to determining the best college football player in the nation, the fans were mostly left out of the selection process - until now.

The Premier Player of College Football Trophy is an award presented to the athlete the fans voted for as the best player in NCAA college football. A poll is released at the beginning of the college football season with 20 of the best players for fans to follow. In mid-October, five more great performing players are added to the poll. Fans then have until the last conference championship game to cast their initial votes for deciding The Premier Player of College Football.

“Fans are such a big part of the games, so we wanted to come up with an award that they can be a big part of too,” said Carnell Moore, founder of Premier Players and the Premier Players Sports Foundation. “All the athletes in our polls are Premier Players, but we let the fans decide who gets the trophy.”

The 19lbs award is crafted by MTM Recognition, a leader in the design and manufacturing of jewelry, medals, and awards for world class events including the Olympics, Super Bowl, World Series and NCAA Championships.

The Premier Player award is now presented for NCAA men & women basketball, baseball & softball, and men & women hockey. Online polls are released at the beginning of the college sports seasons with 20 of the best players for fans to follow. In mid-season, up to five more great performing players may be added to the polls while nonperformers are deleted from the polls. Fans then have until the last conference championship game to vote the Premier Player of the college season.

In 2019, we released a poll for fans to select The Premier Player of Pro Football. Stay tuned for more . . .

PREMIER PLAYERS COMMUNITY SPORTS FOUNDATION & NETWORK a look inside

The Premier Players Community Sports Foundation is a 501c(3) nonprofit based in Tampa, FL. Its mission is to help orphans, foster, special needs and at-risk children participate in community sports leagues by providing the kids with proper equipment and the necessary financial resources to join a team. However, through a network of volunteers and offices in university cities, the foundation will bring awareness and raise funds for the following reasons:

WHAT HAPPENS TO ORPHAN AND FOSTER CHILDREN WHO ARE NEVER ADOPTED AND AGE OUT OF THE SYSTEM?

Many of them go to college but without proper budgeting and life skills. Even worse, some have no family members to call for help with such issues. Our foundation closes that gap and is there when these kids need advice and financial help to continue their studies.

Funds

DISEASES AND DISABILITIES CAN SOMETIMES ROB CHILDREN OF THEIR CHILDHOOD PLAYTIME.

Even when parents help them get past the medical attention and treatments, very little may be left in the budget for participation in sports leagues and camps. Our foundation assists these families with league sponsorships and proper equipment for their children.

STAYING ENGAGED.

Finally, the foundation will serve as a network to help current and former college and professional athletes stay engaged in their university communities. The Premier Players Community Foundation Network will offer athletes the following: Internships (Fall, Spring & Summer): Individual & team community service projects; Part-time & full-time employment opportunities; and continued competition to be the best!

We need a head coach who have been a leader in the world of sports. Someone who’s not only won games but someone with credibility, respect, and the heart to lead a team of players to be game changers for others to make the right choices in life

COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING PARTNERSHIPS

The Premier Player trophy is presented to the athlete the fans voted for as the best player in his or her sport. The trophy is presented at our charitable awards dinners that also function as community fundraisers for nonprofits that operate for the well- being of children in orphanages, foster care or with disabilities and diseases.

“I think it’s important for everyone to play sports,” says Josh Freeman, then quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who used his on- and off-field talents to lead the Tampa Bay community.

“Football is a big part of my family and it has put me in a position to help others in sports and other aspects of life.”

Josh joins a host of business and sports leaders to help citizens have fun but at the same time give back to the community. The community fundraising

partnership works like this: For each ticket a nonprofit sells, it will keep 50% of the cost and The Premier Players Sports Foundation will get the other 50% to cover expenses of the charitable awards dinners i.e. meal, travel, trophies, marketing, etc. For every sponsorship a nonprofit brings forth, that organization keeps 75% of the proceeds while the other 25% goes to The Premier Players Sports Foundation to cover expenses of the awards dinners. In addition, guests completing donation cards at the event can elect which organization gets their funds.

“The mission is to help kids, and many organizations need help from the community to do that,” says Josh. “I look forward to working with fans and community leaders to make Tampa and other cities a better place for everyone.”

The Premier Player Trophy

FOR THOSE VOTED BEST IN THE NCAA

The Premier Player Trophy is an award presented to athletes the fans voted for as the best player in NCAA football, basketball, baseball/softball and hockey. A poll is released at the beginning of each season listing 20 of the best players for fans to follow. In mid season, the

poll may be adjusted and up to five more players added to the ballot. Fans then have until the last conference championship game to cast their initial votes for deciding the Premier Player of that particular sport.

The five athletes with the most votes will be

announced after the last conference championship game, and invited to The Premier Players of College Football charitable awards dinner in Tampa, FL, in December; The Premier Players of College Basketball charitable awards dinner in Charlotte, NC, in April; The Premier Players of

College Baseball/Softball charitable awards dinner in Atlanta, GA, in August; or The Premier Players of College Hockey charitable awards dinner in Minneapolis, MN, in April. Simultaneously, another poll begins with just those five players on the ballot that remains open until a week before the awards dinner where the overall winner is announced based on the votes of sports fans around the world.

Lee Roy Selmon Community Spirit Award

Lee Roy Selmon, the first advisory board member for The Premier Players Sports Foundation, was a Collegiate and NFL Hall of Fame inductee who played his entire career for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Along with his older brothers, he helped the Oklahoma Sooners win two national titles before becoming the first player drafted by the expansion Buccaneers as well as the overall #1 pick of the 1976 NFL Draft.

Even though the sixtime NFL Pro Bowler had a great impact on the Buccaneers, Tampa loved Selmon even more for his impact on the community. The unselfish and very humble Selmon led multiple charities and even founded his own chain of sports restaurants to add his own culinary mark to Tampa. In addition, he helped usher in the University of South Florida (USF) football

team, which is still Tampa’s only Football Bowl Subdivision team.

Due to both Selmon’s prowess on and off the field, the Premier Players Sports Foundation found it fitting to name an award after him. The Lee Roy Selmon Spirit Award recognized athletes who went above the call of a normal student, amateur or professional athlete by demonstrating a deep care for others and their

community. After all, while it is the teams that play the game, it is the community that supports them. That’s why Lee Roy Selmon never let the game of football define who he was, he lived by faith and touched many people in special ways.

From 2012-2015, the Lee Roy Selmon Spirit Award will honored athletes who showed a love for others and a connection to the moral growth of their community. Nominations were given to The Selmon Family for them to select the overall recipient.

Freddie Solomon Community Spirit Award

HELPING TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE

Freddie Solomon played his college football at the University of Tampa and went on to play for the Miami Dolphins for three seasons before joining the San Francisco 49ers where he helped win two Super Bowl championships. His career in the National Football League as a wide receiver came to a close after 11 years. Then the Sumter, SC, native known as “Fabulous Freddie”, came back to Hillsborough County to make a more lasting impact. Solomon devoted

the next 21 years of his life to the youths of Tampa Bay, working with the Sheriff’s department to teach kids life lessons through football. His efforts impacted more than two decades of youths and his lessons are still carried on in the community.

The Freddie Solomon Spirit Award continues Solomon’s efforts to help make the world a better place by honoring a collegiate football player each year, who has impacted the lives of others through giving and community service. Nominations are given to The Solomon Family each year for them to select the recipient of the award.

The Premier Player of Tampa Bay

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL AWARD

The Premier Player of Tampa Bay High School Football Trophy is one of our latest awards recognizing top athletes from Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Hernando counties.

The first poll of 20 high school candidates was launched Nov. 1, 2014, for fans to start

voting. On Dec. 10th, Ray Ray McCloud III was announced as the first recipient of The Premier Player of Tampa Bay High School Football Award.

The star running back for the Sickles Gryphons had 1,933 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior year. McCloud also set county records with 5,765

rushing yards and 58 total touchdowns in his career.

Rivals.com also ranked the 5’10” 175lbs athlete the No. 23 player and No. 2 wide receiver in the nation and No. 9 player in Florida; 247Sports.com listed McCloud as the No. 81 player and No. 11 wide receiver in the nation; and Scout.com ranked him

the No. 121 player in the nation.

Coached by Brian Turner, McCloud also earned the Guy Toph Award as best player in Hillsborough County and went on to continue his football career at Clemson University.

ANR FUND

The mission of the ANR Fund is to support athletes and sports fans.

Accelerated Neuro Regulation (ANR) is not new, but the world has yet to know its full potential for helping people defeat their addictions.

Dr. Andre Waismann, who has completed more than 24,000 successful treatments, has been the world leader in the field of reversing opioid dependency since 1994. He established the world’s first treatment center where patients are treated for their dependency with advanced medicine, in modern, general hospitals by qualified medical personnel.

“The awards are a great voice for fans,” said the late NFL & Collegiate Hall of Famer Lee Roy Selmon.

“However, I also see the Premier Players charitable awards dinners as signature events to showcase cities, provide fun for fans, recognize premier athletes, and a means of helping children around the world.”
