In an effort to bring a little warmth to our community this season, our staff relations committee decided to put up a “mitten tree” as part of our engagement events for the month of December. The mitten tree was decorated with gloves and mittens, all of which we donated to local schools to ensure that children felt the warmth of generosity and the Christmas spirit. u

As part of Clay Center Presbyterian Manor’s ongoing customer service initiative, residents and their representatives are randomly selected to participate in telephone satisfaction surveys conducted by Pinnacle Quality Insight. This company will conduct an interview regarding your impression of our service. We use this feedback as a tool to continually improve our quality of care and enhance our relationships. When you are contacted to participate in the survey, they will always identify themselves specifically as being with Pinnacle Quality Insight. All state and federal confidentiality laws are met in Pinnacle’s service. The graphic above features some of our best scores for health care, assisted living and independent living. If you have questions about our results, contact Executive Director, Christian Gilbert, 785-632-5646. We greatly value your opinions and encourage you to be frank and honest when contacted. Thank you in advance for your participation. u

Clay Center Presbyterian Manor received a certificate of recognition from PMMA (Presbyterian Manors of MidAmerica) for reaching goals in fiscal year 2019, July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2019, at a banquet November 13 in Wichita, Kan. The recognition came through PMMA’s Emerald Awards Program, designed to encourage its 16 locations and two hospices to achieve high levels of

resident/patient and employee satisfaction, meet financial goals, build philanthropic support for the organization’s mission and meet marketing goals. There are 11 areas measured for the Emerald Awards. To receive an emerald, a community has to meet its goals in all 11 areas. Certificates of recognition were given out to communities that reached their goals in one or more category.

Clay Center was recognized for reaching goals in assisted living resident satisfaction. “This recognition is a visible sign of Clay Center Presbyterian Manor’s commitment to the mission of PMMA of providing quality senior services guided by Christian values,” said Bruce Shogren, chief executive officer for PMMA. Luncheon celebrates our supporters Clay Center Presbyterian Manor is truly blessed to have the most wonderful volunteers and donors. It was a joy to take time to celebrate them with our annual Donor and Volunteer Luncheon. Our staff served a menu of homemade soups in bread bowls, salad and a delicious lemon and strawberry dessert. We’re proud to say that this year we added more than 25 employees to our donor list. Sharing their financial resources is just one more way our team lives the mission of Presbyterian Manor. We are fortunate to work with the very best!
