Chalk drawings bring a splash of color to Clay Center Presbyterian Manor During National Skilled Nursing Care Week, former Executive Director Christian Gilbert organized a chalk drawing challenge between departments. The works of art were completed in different spaces around the building, and the residents enjoyed watching the projects come to life. The chalk drawings ranged from beautiful floral patterns to encouraging words of support for our residents and staff. Thanks to all who helped brighten everyone’s day with their talent and creativity. u

Clay Center seniors offer wisdom for the class of 2020 Our “seniors” here at Clay Center Presbyterian Manor have some awesome advice for the senior class of 2020.
Lillian Bosch
As graduation drew near, seniors experienced uncertainty brought on by the spread of COVID-19. For those graduates, stepping into adult life during such an unusual time in history creates questions and concerns that don’t have easy answers or solutions. Our own “seniors” offered advice for emerging seniors from the class of 2020. After all, they once faced similar fears and uncertainties. Advice about how to navigate the unknown from people who have already traversed their own unique life paths is a nice tool to have.

Students, residents make connections with tic-tac-toe A picture is worth a thousand words. The smiles in these photos show exactly how much it means to our residents to have these local littles stop by for a few games of tic-tac-toe. Residents had a lot of fun during the fierce competition, which also offered the opportunity for some teaching and sharing moments. u
