Lauren Flater awarded PMMA scholarship Join Fort Scott Presbyterian Village for a Valentine’s Dinner

Ginger Nance, Fort Scott Presbyterian Village executive director, presents the scholarship to Lauren Flater.

Lauren Flater recently received the Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America Employee Scholarship. Ginger Nance, Fort Scott Presbyterian Village executive director, presented the scholarship check to Lauren at the community’s Christmas party. Lauren applied for the scholarship in April 2019. Lauren started working at Fort Scott Presbyterian Village roughly nine and a half years ago and served in a part-time capacity in her first four years with the community. Lauren currently helps with the Quality Assurance Incentive Program and has served as the program’s monitor. Lauren attended Pittsburg State University and originally planned to pursue a degree in business management. As time went on, she shifted her goals and is currently attending nursing school. Her long-term plan is to become a registered nurse. Many at the Presbyterian Village have planted seeds of confidence to help Lauren take the steps needed to fulfill her dream. When Lauren is not working, she spends time with Nolan, her significant other, and their two dogs Carlie, a Shih Tzu mix, and Pyper, a mixed breed. Lauren likes to hang out at home with Nolan and her dogs. She said this is her most relaxing activity.

Holiday care package reaches military members in time for holidays

Fort Scott Presbyterian Village would like to say thank you to everyone who donated items for the holiday care package we sent to men and women serving overseas in the U.S. armed forces. This effort was in cooperation with FSCC nursing students. The troops received the packages in time for the holiday season and shared photos of themselves unboxing their gifts. The gifts and care package helped us show our appreciation for the troops who dedicate their time to serve our country, even as they are separated from their families and homes. u Fort Scott Presbyterian Village | A PMMA COMMUNITY
