Recognizing staff during service awards Farmington Presbyterian Manor’s yearly service awards is a special opportunity to honor staff for their loyalty. This year, 11 staff were recognized for their years of dedicated service, which ranged from five years to more than 20. “Whether I’ve worked with you for five years or up to 20 years, I just want to say it has been my utmost pleasure to work with each of you,” said Jane Hull, executive director, during her remarks. “I feel that God has truly blessed me to share life with such great people.” AWARDS, continued on page 3

The most wonderful time Farmington holiday celebrations and traditions The halls of Presbyterian Manor are filled with Christmas spirit throughout December as staff, residents and visitors celebrate the season with gusto. Over the course of the past 55 years, Presbyterian Manor has developed some unique traditions to honor the season. Tree decorating We put up 20 Christmas trees every year, and residents help the activities team decorate them. Assisted living residents personally design and decorate ornaments for their lobby’s tree. December Goody Days Each department at the Manor takes turns providing snacks and party foods for residents, staff and visitors to enjoy. Elf tree Healthcare residents’ names are written on elf ornaments and placed on the Christmas tree in the employee lounge. Staff members choose the name of a resident and purchase small gifts for them, which Santa delivers HOLIDAY, continued on page 2

Cookies & cocoa Staff whip up their favorite Christmas cookie recipes to share with residents at the annual Cookies & Cocoa party. Residents enjoy the homemade cookies with a cup of steaming hot cocoa. This year, healthcare will have Cookies & Cocoa on Dec. 12 and assisted living event will have theirs on Dec. 13.

St. Clair has worked at Presbyterian Manor since 2011. She began as a CNA and got her certification as a med tech. She is working toward her LPN degree and is known for her willingness to put in long hours and for her reliability. Janet Hall Janet Hall, memory care evening charge nurse, has worked at Presbyterian Manor since 2011 after her career in the car industry. Janet is one of Presbyterian Manor’s most loved and dependable employees.

Best nursing home list released Farmington ranked among the highest Farmington Presbyterian Manor is on the U.S. News and World Report Best Nursing Homes 201718 list. The senior living community received the highest score of a fivestar rating system to make the list, available today at usnews.com/ nursinghomes. The U.S. News and World Report list uses information from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the government agency that sets and enforces standards for nursing homes.
