Colleen Lockwood and her friend Alberta Coe enjoy an afternoon of visiting.

Colleen Lockwood, a lifetime resident of Fort Scott, Kan., came to stay at Fort Scott Presbyterian Village assisted living community for a short-term stay after a brief hospitalization last summer. Path – continued from page 1 As the days passed, Colleen got involved in social events at Presbyterian Village. Socializing took her mind off her recovery and enabled her to expand her support system during this phase in her life. community or relocating to be near family in another state. The independent and assisted living setting at Presbyterian Village can provide the freedom you need to socialize and practice difficult home tasks, while also undergoing the therapy you may need to get stronger. We offer one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments with a variety of floor plans that give seniors room to

bring along furniture and family heirlooms. Some apartments even have an attached outdoor patio. A larger patio by the pond is close by for all to enjoy. The patio is a perfect spot for a morning cup of coffee on the porch swing that overlooks a beautifully landscaped pond and flower garden. If you wonder if Presbyterian Village could be a good fit for you or a loved one, Becky Kellum would be happy to answer all your questions. Many do not know that the Presbyterian Village can offer short term stays for extra support in a private apartment setting, or that the Village offers help — such as homedelivered meals, housekeeping, bathing and more — in a senior’s own home within city limits. Often seniors think their options are limited to permanently moving into a
