Important roles are a work of heart Lawrence Presbyterian Manor is fortunate to have an extensive list of volunteers. On any given day you can find a smiling face sharing time and talents throughout the building. Our volunteers range from university and high school students to family members, friends from the Lawrence community and our current residents. Each year LPM honors its volunteers with a reception to show our gratitude for their efforts. This year’s event will be at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, in the chapel and recreation room.

For the competition, works must have been completed in the past five years. Presbyterian Manors of MidAmerica’s Art is Ageless program encourages Lawrence Presbyterian Manor residents and other area seniors to express their creativity through its annual competition, as well as art classes, musical and dramatic events, educational opportunities and current events discussions throughout the year. Started in 1980, Art is Ageless is an extension of Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America’s wellness programs, which focus on mental, physical, social and spiritual health.

Tell us how you stay in touch! Staying in touch with your children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren often means getting used to using some new technologies. How do you use technology to keep up with your family? How has technology made life easier? How has technology kept you close to family and friends who live far away? If you’ve got a story to share about how you’re using technology, contact Marketing Director Angela Fonseca, and your story could be featured in an upcoming edition of Community Matters.
