TELL US ABOUT A nursing assistant that you know

We will be celebrating Nursing Assistants Week in an upcoming issue of Community Matters. If you know a nursing assistant with a great story or you want to tell us how important their work is, or if you just want to tell the world what you love about living in your senior living community, we want to share the story.

New set of wheels for Sterling Presbyterian Manor

Thanks to a grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation (K-DOT), Sterling Presbyterian Manor was able to purchase an additional transportation van. This shiny new ride will not only help residents at Presbyterian Manor, but Sterling community members as well. “Being without transportation is frustrating and can make seniors feel like they’ve really lost their independence. By offering this service, residents and community members can simply call and schedule a ride and be taken to run errands, visit the doctor, go shopping, or even on fun outings,” said

NEW VAN continued from page 1

Genny Gillespie, transportation assistant.

This is the second vehicle that was provided by the K-DOT program, and we’re grateful for the continued and expanded opportunity to help residents and the community. To schedule a ride, contact Genny at 620-278-3651, ext. 3144, and leave a message if she’s not able to answer. She likes to schedule rides about a week in advance. Rides are free, but a donation for van upkeep and maintenance is greatly appreciated. 2 COMMUNITY MATTERS APRIL 2018
