It is the time for a bittersweet farewell Dining Services Director Carla Hattendorf is spreading her wings and continuing her career journey with Morrison Management Specialists. She’s been with Morrison for 18 years, serving at Topeka Presbyterian Manor for the last three. Her next position takes her to Lufkin, Texas, where she’ll be a dining services director at a hospital. “I will miss all of the residents here, but I am looking forward to being closer to family,” Carla said. We’re sad to see Carla go, but we wish her the best in her new dining endeavors!

Go, van, go! We’re pleased to announce we’ve been approved as a grant recipient from the Kansas Department of Transportation for a new full-size van with a wheelchair lift. This will be delivered and ready for use in September. “The van will offer us more opportunities to provide services to residents in their transport needs. This bus will fit eight to 10 passengers and up to two wheelchairs. This will allow for more availability of scheduling, including errands and visits to and from the hospital or doctor’s appointments,” said Chelsea Watgen, director of sales and marketing. We’re grateful to be a grant recipient and are in good company, with five other Presbyterian Manor communities also receiving funds.
