American children face societal pressures at a younger age every year. Second and third graders talking of “dating”, indecent behavior in the halls of our schools and even in the classroom alarms parents, teachers, and school officials. Recently, CNN reported concerning two sixth-grade students performing sexual intercourse in front of their classmates during school hours. In the counseling profession accounts of mutilation are not infrequent, and pre-adolescent children are titling themselves as homosexual before they are intelligent enough to define what that means.
Presence and Living Grace Christian Community Counseling Ministry will jointly sponsor an all day conference featuring On June 23, 2007,
seminars concerning these and other issues. Topics such as marital crisis, dealing with homosexual family members, and preventing destructive behavior in children will be presented.
This conference will also introduce the Christopher Yuan family to the LA area. Their seemingly tragic, life story will inspire parents facing family crisis, and give them hope for rebuilding broken relationships through the grace of God. Also, Rev. Michael Wu will give a message. Please join us for a day of parental encouragement, family strengthening and hope filled messages from some of LA’s finest Christian counselors. The cost of this conference is $20.00/individual, and includes breakfast and lunch. Registration forms can be downloaded from www.presencefamily.org , or call (909) 802-
6662 for information about receiving a form in the mail. This conference will be held at
Los Angeles Chinese Alliance Church,
What does Jenny have to say?

The goal of Presence's High School Internship Program is to instill and develop stronger Christian values and character in the lives of high school students, and to help develop leadership and decision making skills in each student's life. Then, they will be able to stand firm in their faith against the challenges and temptations of this world. We train our students to use the tool of improvisation, and through performances, to educate younger students in the community. Moreover, we challenge our students about their faith, their personal values, and their thoughts concerning current, social issues during our structured discussions. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to partner with Presence in serving as coordinator of the High School Internship Program.

What’s happening with Presence This year’s Floral Street Fair, in Alhambra, was a big success. On February 17th & 18th combined, over 50,000 people had the opportunity to receive flyers as they passed by the Presence booth, and over 500 candles (plus other items) were sold to raise funds for the ministry. Thanks to all who volunteered their time to help with this important event. On Easter, April 8th, an Open House event was held for those interested in learning more about Presence ministry. Some former students, as well as a few new faces, took part in the interactive performances of the high school interns and the YLT trainers (photo left). A special thanks to Rev. Paul Meinsen (San Gabriel Valley Alliance Church) and Rev. James Lam (First Evangelical Church of Diamond Bar) who shared from their life experiences as a witness of God’s awesome power and love.
