London calling for maritime delegates!
CASMARE project is going to co-organize the next FP7 Maritime Innovation and Brokerage event to be held in London on September 7-8, 2011.
CESA, WATERBORNE TP and Transport NCPs are working together with industry bodies to organize a new FP7 Maritime Transport Brokerage Event which will take place in London on next 7-8 September. After the success obtained by the last brokerage event which brought together more than 180 delegates from all over Europe, this will be a new occasion for maritime stakeholders to meet in a Pan European environment and share the knowledge and key challenges faced, present opportunities for collaboration, the development of innovative solutions and ultimately improved business performance for European Maritime Industry. Future challenges, the state of the industry and the R&D opportunities under FP7 will be some of the topics dealt with during the two days event which will also represent one of the main opportunities to know more about FP7 and on how to get involved. The core focus will be on FP7 proposed priorities and 2012 Work Programme, mainly: - the greening of surface transport; - encouraging the modal shift and decongesting transport corridors; - improving safety and security; - the "European Green Cars" Initiative. WATERBORNE TP is an initiative that came forth from the Maritime Industries Forum (MIF) and its R&D committee in 2005 and is making strident efforts to regularly update R&D requirements for European competitiveness, innovation and the meeting of regulations like safety and environment. CASMARE implements and updates the WATERBORNE Research Strategy. One of CASMARE main objectives is to develop and implement a consistent methodology (including measurements/metrics/parameters) to monitor on the one hand the real impact of the WATERBORNE Research Strategy documents on EU and national research programmes, and on the other hand the progress of the state of the art to be mapped against the WIRM 2007
