Police hunt for shooting suspects Phoenix Theater management might implement closer scrutiny of performers By DAN JOHNSON ARGUS-COURIER STAFF

The Petaluma Police Department continues to search for suspects in Saturday’s incident in which two people were shot after attending a hyphy show at the Phoenix Theater, which

might be more closely scrutinizing groups that perform there and the crowds they attract. “We’re continuing to investigate the incident,” said Capt. Dan Fish, adding that detectives have received differing reports as to where one suspect, a black male adult, is from. here,” said Amber Faur, executive director of the Phoenix Theater. “And it was a pretty small crowd for us (350 to 360 people, according to police sources).” Toward the end of the show, a fight broke out involving four or five young men. “The security guards, who were hired by the promoter, then did the right thing by separating the groups, and escorting one of them out of the club and to their car,” Faur said. “But the security guards didn’t know that the other See SHOOTING, page A7
