Creativity 50 2014: Vania Heymann

Vania Heymann is the first director to have two films in the prestigious Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors' Showcase reel in one year at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The first was his much-buzzed-about interactive video for Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone." It featured 16 versions of the song as they might appear on different American TV channels, including kids' channels, the History Channel and MTV. The other, the stylish short film "Walking Contest," is a witty monologue featuring a pedestrian with a competitive streak.

Born in Israel, Mr. Heymann studied visual communications at Jerusalem's Bezalel Academy, where one of his student projects -- a video that explored religious symbols by replacing them with Ikea watering cans -- immediately went viral. He's noted for shooting, editing and designing the VFX for all his own projects, which have included spots for the likes of Pepsi Max and American Express.
