Welcome to V2 of Pretty Pear Bride Magazine, the Summer Issue. In this issue we wanted to embody what a true summer wedding is; including colors, locations and fashions. I decided to do the cover in the place that is the epitome of summer, Arizona. We did our cover at a wonderful museum in Arizona and it was fabulous. This cover was only possible because of the collective effort of so many individuals, especially Julie of Foskett Creative and her team of vendors from Arizona. Thanks a million times over for all your help with making this cover amazing! We coined this issue’s theme “Desert Chic” because I wanted it be in the desert, a true representation of Arizona but I also wanted it to be chic and sexy. This issue is a definite culmination of a summer, desert chic wedding.
I had a vision to do. All I wanted to do was find bridal imagery that looked like me and since there wasn’t any, I set out to create it. As always, behind a great idea and vision are amazing people that pushed and pulled the idea out. I thank all of my contributors, guest and routine for their continuous effort to create amazing content to share with you all. I leave you with these words of wisdom: “Don’t think outside the box… think like there is no box” ~ Unknown ENJOY!!

CHEERS

Blue Lagoon Martini
Now, we you see that, doesn’t it just scream “SUMMA”… and no, that’s not a typo you see! That’s how we, Bostonians pronounce it! There really are a lot cocktail ideas out there that are considered “summer” drinks. I decided to work with the color palette that was being showcased to find a cocktail that was striking and of course, that tastes good! Oddly enough this one was my third choice. I was researching a completely different type of cocktail, when I stumbled across this beauty. It literally ‘caught my eye’ and thought it would be a perfect choice to have in the summer issue. It definitely would make an eye catching statement as a signature cocktail.

I took my first sip and was pleasantly surprised on how smooth it was! It looked so pretty in the glass, than to have it live up in taste, well that just made my day! I like my martinis more on the “creamy” side, but this one was SO good! It was fruity with a tangy kick at the end. The alcohol taste wasn’t overwhelming at all. You’ll want to continue to drink & savor it. This will be a drink that won’t go to waste!
Ingredients: 2 oz Vodka 1 oz Blue Curaco 1 oz Lemon Juice Martini Glass Ice Directions: Pour all ingredients in shaker Fill shaker 1/2 way with ice Shake all ingredients Pour in martini glass

Suite Details
Beauty is found in the details. Add dimension and visual appeal to your suite by layering your Invitations with: Vellum Bands, decorative Seals, and colorful Envelope Liners.
Stationery Timelines & Tips Do … • Stay organized by using a wedding stationery timeline. • Send Save the Dates 6-12 months ahead of your date and only to those you plan on inviting to the wedding. • Start researching your invitations at least 6 months prior to your date. • Order invitations 2-4 months prior. Mail 6-8 weeks prior. • Send RSVP Postcards to save on postage costs.
Don’t … • Sacrifice quality over price. • Fail to order 25 extra invitations (for keepsakes, last-minute invites, etc.) • Overlook the importance of proofing: spellings, locations, names, dates, etc. • Forget to include an RSVP date with your invitation (2-3 weeks before your wedding). • Neglect taking one fully-assembled invite to the post office for weighing & accurate postage costs.
Perfectly Polished
From your Save the Dates and Invites, to your Programs and Thank Yous, complement and carry your look across your entire suite, for a theme that’s polished and complete.

hat made you laugh: Meeting Jerry Springer while having our formal wedding portraits taken. Jerry springer was driving by and pulled over to say hi. All i remember seeing is “ we partied with jerry tee shirts and then he was there. My husband immediately said is this a good or a bad sign for us? Unlike most couples our wedding pictures featured pirates and jerry springer!

here did you save big?
We choose to do many of the crafting projects ourselves. I loved etsy it truly was an addiction, but it adds up. So i looked on etsy for inspiration, then my mom and mother in law would give it their own spin. My mom made the table numbers, reserved seating ribbons, and candles. My mother in law did a countless amount of projects. Both moms gave the wedding the personal effect, with a much lower price tag. Chuck and my family made the chocolates that were at each place setting.

here did you splurge?
My splurges I like to think of as investments they were photography and florals. From the very beginning I knew I wanted florals to play a very important part of the wedding. It gave the wedding the soft vintage affect that I wanted. Flowers are three times the cost in february but i had an amaing florists who really worked with us in creating my dream flowers. I’m still in disbelief the florals that Jana Stall was able to create for my wedding. The first time i met the videographer we just clicked and i knew she would do an amazing job. I remember telling her i’m not a little girl, I dont deserve a little bouquet and she delievered! I also knew from the very begging that photography was the most important vendor of the day. I would have nothing to remember my wedding day without them. I’m so thankful i invested in my wedding photography, they worth every penny and more. I still want to cry when i look back at the moments SFP was
