“Just Skin

Year 2020, Planet Earth. Imagine you are a young, beautiful Chinese girl, a smiling, kind, smart, open hearted girl, who speaks three, four, five different languages, who travels the world, who is a model, an influencer, an entrepreneur, a daughter, a Woman. And one day suddenly you become the target of senseless and unjustified insults, harassement and verbal violence, by strangers, little men hidden behind a computer or a smartphone screen, protected by the immensity of the Net.

What you see on Siqi’s skin are just a part of the insults she received from the beginning of the pandemic, just because she is Chinese. Insults in all languages, from all countries. Absurd words told by absurd people, but that still hurt, and leave a mark precisely because they are unjustified.

The tattoos on the skin and in the soul of Siqi are the result of the ignorance now ruling the world, the lack of culture, knowledge, lack of light of reason, and are the exact measure of where we are going.
