okyo is the most travelled destination in Japan. The capital city tops the list of places when foreign travellers visit Japan. The Japan National Tourist Organisation reports that Tokyo houses seven of the 10 most visited places in Japan. So, visitors are at ease to spot off must-see destinations in the Tokyo. The city encompasses nearly every facet of Japanese culture but nature seems to be elusive from the capital city, man-made architectures and technology are the buzzword here.


Best thing about visiting places other than Tokyo is their connectivity with transport system. Almost every tourist destination is connected with rail route network. So, whether you choose to explore the capital city or other tourist hot-spots, you will experience a mix of modern and traditional all over Japan. Here are a few amazing places to visit in Japan that you must include in must-see list

Ueno, Tokyo: At Ueno amusement park, you have the National Museum, the Zoon and a small amusement park for kids. During the cherry-blossom festival time, a large crowd flocks to this park. Ameya-yokocho is a bustling street market just outside the park. There are many small shops and vendor carts at the street market. You can have one of the greatest snacks of grilled mocha at this place.


Yokohama: Almost at half an hour distance from Tokyo, Yokohama port was opened for foreign trade in the 19 th century. This place also serves as a commuter town and shows great foreign influences. There are many museums including one of the Japanese comic book superhero Anpanman.


Harajaku, Tokyo: The Harajaku district is the fashion district in Tokyo and famous for teenage girls dressed in gothic, punk or magna-style outfits. Besides costumed kids and hangout places, there are many boutiques and cafes for hip Tokyoites. There is a beautiful Meiji Shrine on the other side of Harajaku station. This shrine is an excellent Shinto landmark.


Osaka: It takes almost two and half hours from Tokyo by bullet train to reach at Osaka. With some unique charms, Osaka is the Milan to Kyoto’s Florence. Osaka Castle is the perfect stopover for people interested in traditional architectures. At around 40 minutes distance is the Himeji Castle that was built in between 14 th to 17th centuries. Kyoto: If you go one place in Japan, keep Tokyo high on your wish-list. Even die-hard Tokyoites suggest you the same. With many different temples, shrines, castles and beautiful architectures, Kyoto offers you a walk-through ancient Japan. At this place, you can enjoy shojin ryori that is Buddhist temple dish. Katsura Imperial Villa has a 17th century garden that is considered to be the finest in Japan.
