Your free copy of White Women and a note from donor Ruth Ann Harnisch
Dear Friend, Are you comfortable with an uncomfortable conversation? I hope so! Regina Jackson and Saira Rao are about to engage you in the most uncomfortable conversation of all: how nice white people like us (without a racist bone in our bodies!) deny that we benefit from white supremacy. I certainly didn’t identify with white supremacy. As a woman, I didn’t feel advantaged in society. But when I started noticing the reality of white supremacy in systems, in culture, in history, I couldn’t stop noticing. No, I’m not on a guilt trip and I’m not trying to guilt you, either. My intention is to be aware, and to recognize what’s true even if it’s uncomfortable. I came to realize that if we’re not actively antiracist then we are enabling racism. Are you ready for that uncomfortable conversation? Open your heart, open the book, and jump in!
From my heart to yours,
